I went and saw Harry Potter with a couple friends.

I probably won't be seeing Transformers again until the DVD comes out, but my parents REALLY want to see Harry Potter, so I might go to that again.

Suckas.

With no release yet of the TF Movie in China, Japan or the UK, unlike Harry Potter, I will assume that the TF movie will have a significant blip upwards in the coming weeks as it is released in those markets as I am sure others have commented.

this disgusts me, this whole thing. A lot of you people are wasting ridiculous amounts of money to see transformers again and again, and belittling people even if it is in a joking manner about seeing order of the phoenix. This kinda implies either illiteracy, lack of appreciation for books, or any which way combination of that.

Also, the fact that we must so desperately see transformers excessively just to beat harry potter kinda shows that simply, it just wasn't as big of a hit/money maker. HP 5 was good, Transformers was good, see it for the sake of enjoying it godamnit.

Oh, please, that place is a death trap. Go ahead, take it.

And HA if you can think Transformers can beat Harry Potter. Transformers doesn't sell millions almost immediately. Harry does.

if you're not going to support Transformers -don't post here. Seeing the movie multiple times to try to throw off Harry Potter has nothing to do with unappreciating the books. Transformers has been around for 20+ years - it's ok to show pride in TF. It's not likely that TF will beat Harry Potter this week for the #1 spot but it's still fun to try. Hopefully TF does well overseas, because undoubtedly HP will do very high numbers. Shadowman, for TF midnight screenings vs. HP5 midnight screenings, HP made about $3 million more, that's not much difference. TF did do millions almost immediately.

you said supporting the movies has nothing to do with unapreciating the books. However, when we expressed our appreciating/interest in harry potter, you took it upon yourself to tell us to leave since according to you, we are not "supporting" transformers. GG, this is not at all a biased double standard.

I meant to write 'if you're going to down TF? Why are you writing here?' Not 'leave if you're not going to see TF again.' I apologize.

"And HA if you can think Transformers can beat Harry Potter. Transformers doesn't sell millions almost immediately. Harry does."

these statements don't support TF. Go rant & rave about HP on the HP forums. This is almost like Star Trek fans bashing SW on a SW forum. I saw HP5- not all that impressed with it. Not better than TF. TF and DH4 are the best summer movies so far.

everything you say digs your hole deeper and deeper.

If you're seeing it again and again to go with different people or friends or just for enjoyment, then perhaps there is some reason to that, but I am saying ridiculous since supporting it just to beat another movie to prove it is better is ridiculous.

and again you prove bias. I wholeheartedly supported the movie, and I loved it. In fact, I would like to know how much you have spent on the movie toyline, because technically that is supporting the movie also.

Simply by your logic, we cannot like both, we must be subject to one. And your statement about which movies are the best this summer is completely blatant. You want my honest opinion? I enjoyed transformers more than harry potter, that doesn't mean I'm gonna bash it because it was still an enjoyable movie.

Okay, you wanna play the numbers game? Let's play:

Book six made about US$65 Million. HP is worth about $4 Billion altogether. It turned a single woman into the second richest female entertainer on Earth. It's sold about 325 million copies worldwide.

Transformers, despite being older, hasn't had NEARLY as much success.

yeah seriously why the hell are you even playing the numbers game? Who cares what other people think, the logic behind some of the people here is apalling, its like seeing movies for the purpose of entertainment has become a perversion.

I revised my post. And I did not say that you couldn't like both. Shadowman, I won't argue with you that HP has made more, but only 2 TF movies have been made vs. 5 and HP doesn't have a toy line. Can't compare these really. All I was talking about was the TF doesn't make $ right away statement. And just because something makes more $ - doesn't mean it's necessarily better - Milli Vanilli sold millions of $ worth of records and it turned out they were garbage. I like Harry Potter, but not more than Transformers. It pisses me off to see Seibertron members rip TF over HP. Why are you even on here if you're going to down TF?

Did you guys see those kids in Alaska camping outside the bookstore for 11 days to get the Harry Potter book? To pass the time they read the other books and play HP games. They wouldn't even leave the line to see the HP movie. That's hardcore.

Hey Shadowboy the Hairy God, what will you be doing in 20 years when harry is gone and Transformers is still kicking arse. Harry's on his last book while transformers is on it's first movie. We don't even need to discuss the topic. Transformers will continue to outdo Potter long after you cry yourself to sleep.   All in fun. I hope someone laughs.

It is kind of ridiculous to see a movie 5 times again to prove it is better, but I'm not stopping people who want to see it again for any reason.

Sandmunky, by your logic, I'm less of a fan if I don't buy the movie toys. I haven't bought any yet, but plan on getting a BB and Prime. Doesn't mean I don't support the movie.

finally, some help.
Once all 7 movies are released, I'll get HP on dvd. I'll also get all the TF dvds when they are released. I'd love to see a pic of Optimus stepping on Ratatouille and Megatron squeezing HP in his hand. That'd be funny. Maybe someone could photoshop this???

No, I'll probably keep watching Transformers, keep watching the various movie, maybe even buying the toys if I have the cash. Simultaneously, I'll keep watching/reading Harry Potter over and over.

Because I'm a fan of both. I don't prefer either, just trying to prove that one is significantly more popular than another. (And it is NOT my opinion.)

nothing so far, they're freaking expensive. Leader Optimus $40+. I'd like to get the Voyager class BB or Ultimate Figure BB when it comes out and I want the leader class Meg and Prime but they are too much. I had to buy a new car this summer, get the A/c fixed and I buy a lot of music so theres' where all th $ went.
