I am up to 12 times. I gave it a 7 out of 10 when I frist saw it and not it is up to a 9 out of 10 b/c as with most movies with this much CGA and action you catch small tidbits of storyline and action with every viewing. Can't say that I am bored at all after watching it this many times either. Says a lot about the movie. For some movies once was enough. I am sure that we can all make a list of those ones!

i know i said i wouldn't get involved beyond my initial comment, but the idiocy levels are just too high to resist. besides, perhaps i can stir up some more amusement.
first of all, the initial purpose of this topic, moronic though it may have been, was to get the tf movie to beat potter at the box office this weekend. in that context, arguments about which has more staying power are moot; the question is which franchise is more popular right now, and the answer is harry potter, plain and simple. that's not an opinion, it's a fact. that doesn't mean that i prefer harry potter. it doesn't mean i'm talking negatively about the tf movie or tfs in general. it doeswn't mean that harry potter will be around longer than tfs. it means that, at this point in time, harry potter is infinitely more popular than transformers. to claim otherwise is ignorant and just flat-out stupid. and, in this discussion, that statistic is all that matters.
secondly, to the people saying "don't post on a tf board if you're going to support harry potter over tf": since when did this movie become the sum total of all things transformers? this is a site for fans of transformers in general, not just the movie. tfs have been around far too long, in far too many forms, for you to accuse someone of not belonging on a tf board simply because you think they're talking down about the latest incarnation (which, btw, the people the comments were directed at weren't). as members of this board, we all have a right to voice our opinions on any version of tf, regardless of whether those opinions are positive or negative. if that includes saying the new harry potter movie is better than the tf movie, so be it.

i think you're missing the point, Burn. Transformers, like Star Wars is eternal, and never wanes in popularity cycles. If you had of been around in the past 20 years, you'd know first hand how Transformers kicked TMNT and MMPR ass.Burn wrote:Transtopias Rodimus Prime wrote:If you haven't been around for over 20 years you can't understand how something like Transformers and Starwars is so much more worldwide and popular than Harry Potter.
Of course if you HAVE been around for over 20 years it seems that some have a little trouble looking past their little fan obsession to see that Harry Potter is a phenomenon to rival the likes of Star Wars and Transformers.
But then what would I know? What with being 8 years old in 1984 ... growing up with Transformers for 3/4 of my life, Star Wars for pretty much as long as I can remember ... and loving the Harry Potter books and movies for the last decade. Yeah, I wouldn't understand at all.

I was being sarcastic. I guess that's lost when other people make such similar statements in total belief.Burn wrote:trent hughes wrote:If you had of been around in the past 20 years, you'd know first hand how Transformers kicked TMNT and MMPR ass.
No .... really?
I must have slept through the decade between 1988 and 1998.
Wait ... isn't that when TMNT and MMPR were big and Transformers were all but dead?
And didn't TMNT exist in comic form before they were made into movies? And wasn't there a new TMNT just this year?
Simple fact. Harry Potter has been more popular in the last decade and enjoyed by more people across more generations than Transformers has in 20+ years.
But then that's just the opinion of a guy who grew up with Generation 1 and also enjoys the likes of Harry Potter, TMNT, Star Trek, Star Wars, Knight Rider, A-Team, X-Files ... yeah, a whole **** load of things that have existed for nearly and some times more than 20 years and all still have huge fanbases.
I thought this topic was about Transformers kicking Potter butt. I thought maybe a little refresher on how Transformers were knocked out of the spotlight for near a decade was in order.Saya wrote:trent hughes wrote:i think you're missing the point, Burn. Why would they have cancelled Transformers if its popularity hadn't waned? And what does TMNT and MMPR have to do with anything, I don't think they were even mentioned? And how does this relate to Harry Potter? Does its popularity wax and wane like the moon or something?
