I suppose that could be because everyone and their freaking dog has one at this point... :P

It's true though, Wii is everywhere. Most of my co-workers, people in their 30's and up have one.

Nintendo won the marketing war easily this time around. GenX nostalgia ftw.

But anyway, its just your opinion.

Re-releasing old games IS one of the primary selling points of the system. Virtual console, anyone?

I would like to see more first-party content but there's nothing wrong with releasing value games with updated controls. It worked for Resident Evil 4, didn't it?

Almost everyone I know has one...My best friend, who HATES videogames and always swore to me that she would never allow them in her house, just got a Wii recently and almost everyday since she has mentioned playing it with her husband...

Nintendo is sucking them in by the truckload...

I can name several people who don't have one. In fact of all my friends and family, only me, my brother, and my buddy from work have one. The rest of my friends live and die by the PC and don't have a 360 or PS3 either.

I'll be fine with the system as long as some good games come out for it. Latley crapfest has been pumping out of the factory like crazy!

BTW I think the Wii's dominance at the top is nearly over. I'm seeing Wii's piling up now. They no longer are the system you just have to pick up because you don't know when you'll see one again. I've probably seen 20 in the past week! No one even seems to care either, I see people just walking right by them everywhere.

Exactly. Gf got me a wii for my birthday last spring. I really wanted a game i was stupid and bought Dragon Quest Swords. I beat that in 3 days. So i went out and bought a dozen of the essential gamecube games because i never owned a gamecube.

Metal Gear Solid 4
Motorstorm
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
Resistance: Fall of man
Resistance 2
Little Big Planet
Wipeout HD

Coming soon:
Uncharted 2
Killzone 2

Theres a couple more but those are the best. I'm exact opposite on PS3 exclusives vs. 360. Maybe theirs more on 360, but it seems the ones on PS3 are just well better. And the ones that are awesome on 360 I can pick up for the PC anyway. And I'm kinda over the whole "Halo" thing, but I already heard Halo 3 and Gears of war 2 are slated for the PC.

Oh and as for the Wii while I totally agree with attracting other people to the video game market, theirs still a problem with support. Wii Sports still seems to be the only game to truley show what casual gaming's all about, and they've completly failed to capitolize on that. For instance it features an awesoem bowling game that would make you think picking up a full bowling game for the system would be a good idea. You notice their are 2 bowling games for the system, and you look up reviews. IGN gives them 4 out of a 10.

Problem is most cell phone games are better than over half of the Wii library. Support is just not there

Outside of MGS4 none of those PS3 exclusives really appeals to me, the games that I want to play are on Xbox 360 not the PS3.

I love the PS3, but I wouldn't argue for its exclusives.

The PS3 is the complete system. Where it lacks a few of the exclusives on 360 (some of which are just awesome), the PS3 really is a master entertainment hub. It's just a wonderful piece of electronics. It also benefits by having no upper limits right now.

Firmware updates have constantly improved the system. PS3 really does just keep getting better.

I'm not saying it's bad system but there is ONE game on it that I want to play it and I don't have a desire to buy and play another copy of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, TNA Impact, Devil May Cry 4, and several others.

To me the PS3's biggest problem is that there is no game to push it to it limits and show it's true potential, that I want to play. I'm not into FPS, sports, and racing and fighting games bore me. Games like Uncharted might appeal to me but there is something about Uncharted doesn't appeal to me.

I don't have an HDTV and even if I did all this 720 or 1020 dpi techno babble is meaningless to me. I've seen pictures from Oblivion from the 360, PS3, and PC versions and quite I honestly I didn't see much of a difference.

The Argument between the 3 systems can go on forever. I'll say this I like PS3 the best, and no one's holding a gun to my head telling me to buy a 360. We all have opinions so instead of arguing which system is the best we outta just enjoy the systems we have.

Nice thing about this system war is there are no true loosers. PS3's in 3rd place but its completly holding its own. Developers have came right out and said if they are going to make a game for Xbox360 making a PS3 version is just as easy. Honestly hardware wise I think both systems are even.

But if the Wii's your thing enjoy it too. Mine's not getting a whole lot of love but its going to as soon as I get done with the games I'm playing right now. I got a lot of good games on it that I've barely touched, like Metroid Prime 3, or Twilight Princess.

Actually Valve has spoken out against the PS3 quite a bit. That's probably why Left 4 Dead isn't on PS3, and why The Orange Box was released on PS3 several months after the PC and 360 release, and handled by EA rather than Valve.

ACTUALLY... Lol there's always an "actually" with you. you couldn't just let it die could you?

Umm and BTW that article was written just 2 months after Sony's mega epic fail of a system launch. I wonder how Valve feels now.

It's one thing when Sony and Microsoft throw mud at each other and call each other names, it's quite another when actual game developers throw down and join the rumble. Shaun Himmerick, Executive Producer for Wheelman, made some stinging remarks about programming for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360:

The politically incorrect answer is that the PS3 is a huge pain in the ass. Anyone making a game, if you’re going to make it for both [360 and PS3], just lead on the PS3 because if it works on the PS3 it’ll work on 360.

The easiest way to look at it is, the 360 has one big chunk of memory, but the PS3 has two chunks of memory that in total are the same size as the Xbox, but because they’re split you can’t share memory the same way. That will bite you in the ass, and it bit us in the ass bad.

We had to play catch up on the PS3 because of the memory constraints and how it renders, how it processes is just different. And it’s harder on the PS3. The Xbox is just like a dumb PC, which is great because it’s easier to build a game on a PC.

Well, still no Left 4 Dead, and Team Fortress 2 on PS3 hasn't gotten the class updates, so I'm going to go ahead and say yeah, they probably do.

I came back and deleted my original post. You know seriously who even cares about this ****? Its not going to make me go throw my PS3 in the garbage.

I don't expect 360 fans or even die hard nintendo fanboys to go out and buy a PS3, so why should they expect me to hate my system just because some jackass developer wants to write an article about it?

I'm done arguing about this crap. YOu know I'm not a fanboy at all. the only thing I consistently buy is the Nintendo system because IMO its always worth it at least for the first party games. As for the other 2 companies, well last time it was an Xbox, this time its a PS3. Next time, who knows who'll get my support. The point is regardless of how everyone else things the PS3 sucks, I enjoy mine, and why should I enjoy it any less just because a 360 fan tells me their system is better than mine?

You know how pretty much everyone in this thread was complaining about Nintendo's lack of third-party support? And you know how people keep saying that said lack of third-party support was doing the Wii harm?

Think of it this way: if a bunch of developers hate a system, that system will lose third-party support, and everyone will complain and the system itself will suffer.

Yeah well theres no sign of 3rd party support dropping for PS3 yet. Seriously what are you people trying to prove to me? Because a couple developers complain about a system I need to just sell it now and go buy a 360? Is that what you guys want?

Make no mistake, the PS3 is in 3rd place, but its not loosing the system war and its not a flop. Its holding its own. And no one is answering my question here. Am I supposed to get rid of my PS3 because you guys don't like it?

You know, I only see one dude getting super defensive in here. We just happened to link a couple articles stating that the PS3 is hard to develop for. It's fact. No reason to get uppity about it. Regardless, this topic has gone wayyyyy off course, people are becoming unstable and I'm locking it.
