Further Bayverse SS stuff is supposed to happen, source mentioned another Prime, The Fallen, and possibly Sideways in the works currently, plus Jolt, ROTF Sideswipe, and Grindor w/ Ravage already had leaked listings for this year before this stuff.Quantum Surge wrote:I was really hoping to see Evasion Prime, The Fallen, maybe another Dinobot from AOE, Jolt, the Twins, etc be mentioned because it just can't be Dino, Starscream, ROTF Bee, and B-127 that's from the actual movies the line's been about, right?
The source these are from SPECIFICALLY said that SG Megatron will use the Siege/ER Megs mold rather than Kingdom Galvatron, which doesn't make much sense from an accuracy standpoint, but does line up with how they did SG Ratchet (who should have been a Grapple repaint/retool to match his original SG design if they were going for perfect accuracy, instead of being G1 Ratchet's body in SG colors). They also didn't mention if these 4 names are the only SG releases or not, so I'm personally hoping we can also get SG Wheeljack, Soundwave, Sideswipe, and Grimlock out of this (although some of those are probably more likely than others).Emerje wrote:Shattered Glass as a Pulse exclusive does make sense since they got the Optimus/Ratchet two pack. Plus it gives us a Jetfire repaint and since Kingdom Galvatron is already expected to have extra armor parts to look like the Energon figure the SG character is based on it would be a very easy repaint.

I didn't see an end date for the license, but if they were going to be switching before the new movie, I think we would have heard by now, since the announcements are done in advance of the toy lines.
Since the rumors are from "various sources," I won't cast doubt on any of the others, but we least this one leaker is probably making things up.

Actually, they're all from the same source on TFW. I don't recall where exactly it was said, but I believe the guy mentioned that a special exemption was made for Hasbro to release this (the thread is like 100 pages long at this point, and I don't feel like looking). Make of that what you will.AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm going to call the Jurassic World crossover false. Mattel has had the master toy license since 2016 and has had new product coming out consistently. AcademyofDrX wrote:Mattel has limited rights to Star Wars to make plush dolls and small vehicles, especially under the Hot Wheels brand. Mattel's license may not preclude Hasbro from getting a license for a transforming toy, but they'd have to negotiate that just for a one-off. The other crossovers have been for properties where Hasbro has already had a license -- with the possible exception of BttF. That license is all over the place, though I'm sure it helped that IDW had the comics license.
It's not impossible, but it's certainly unlikely.
Emerje wrote:Top Gun is also a one-off license as far as I know, Lanard sells a rather large set of jets and figures. Only crossover figures they've done that they also make other figures for is Ghostbusters and X-Men. Licenses are a funny thing. For example Mattel has the primary license for all things DC action figures at major retailers (as in outside comic shops), yet McFarlane also makes DC figures now.

Off topic, but Mattel lost the DC master license to Spin Master last year. Mattel still makes certain younger toys, but kids action figures are from Spin Master, while MacFarlane serves the collector market.
That, and this brand team has no issue with sticking to the Japanese names of Japanese-original characters (hi, "Black Roritchi"), instead of Westernizing them like the Aaron Archer era team would (e.g - "Stepper" to "Ricochet").william-james88 wrote:On another note, I'm assuming they are going with the BWII name fir the eagle because having Beast Wars Ailverbolt would be confusing right?

I feel like there's a pretty big overlap in the number of people who knew about Selects Sandstorm and why it exists at all, and those who are aware of BWII Skywarp.Jelze Bunnycat wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That, and this brand team has no issue with sticking to the Japanese names of Japanese-original characters (hi, "Black Roritchi"), instead of Westernizing them like the Aaron Archer era team would (e.g - "Stepper" to "Ricochet").william-james88 wrote:On another note, I'm assuming they are going with the BWII name fir the eagle because having Beast Wars Ailverbolt would be confusing right?
That would be a bit confusing for those less in the know, but I don't know how people dealt with Selects Decepticon Sandstorm. If possible, I'd like to see them use "Skyhawk" instead.
