Sowndwave76, re: MP Rumble scaling better with G1!WFC figures than the actual SIEGE Rumble does... I agree. The same goes for G1 Rumble. Which is why it's disappointing that the G1!WFC Soundwaves can only hold the Micromaster "cassettes" and the same will probably hold true for Kingdom Blaster (wonder how hard it'll be to fix). Oh well, at least G1 Soundwave scales perfectly with the CHUG stuff.

This is more than likely the "Hot Rod Colour Variant" we've been hearing about through leaks, because going by the image on the back of the box, the hinge on the car's roof has been changed from orange to red.

I mean I just went through rebuying Siege figures in Earthrise, I'm not thrilled about buying new SS86 figures to replace my ... SS86 figures.
(I'll still do it, I'm a sucker.)

I don't think so? There are tons of visual differences so it's hard to compare. Because of the way he's secured, his arm position is changed and the spoiler is no longer visible. The accessories are moved out of sight, probably under his legs. I can't tell if there's less empty space because of the additional cardboard or due to a change in package dimensions.
EE has Hot Rod being repacked with Soundwave. Though they show the earlier packaging, I suspect this is that will come with that. I'm also not convinced this is the rumored repaint since that hinge looks like the only change.

Not to burst anyone's bubble or anything. but the box art is exactly the same as it was on the old box down to the red hinge and clear windshield.
I think its either the exact same figure yellow hinge and all, or they just did not bother to change the box art.
However, the figure inside looks to be pretty much unchanged color wise.

It looks like it will definitely be the same for Blaster... Which in this case, doesn't bother me as much just because I never really cared about his cassettes.
And I really hope that any of the SS86 cassettes look good, because if they do, I'll add them to my MP Decepticon display.
Sidenote: I could see the SS86 Ironhide not getting retooled feet, but being sold as a voyager, having additional 5mm pegs tooled on the chest/torso, and being packed with 2-3 blast effects and a blaster.
With the Buzzworthy subline dipping into the SS86 subline, I really am hoping for a magenta Hot Rod...
Seems to me that Hastak could be taking the molds that haven't been used multiple times and adding them to the Buzzworthy line with minor changes.
Jazz was used for Jackpot
Blurr was used for SG Blurr
Scourge was used for Sweep
Wreck-gar is going to be used for a Junkion
But we're now getting another Kup, and I wouldn't doubt if Hot Rod follows at some point (as it's been rumored). Oh, and possibly Springer sans battle damage paint apps?
The exception may be the Dinobots, but I'd think they'd get used for something... Just maybe not in Buzzworthy.
Gen Selects G2 versions??
Or, put them in Buzzworthy releases with semi-transparent gold parts?

technically he'd fit in a Deluxe box, so if they're really truly trying to be greener in terms of packaging them he should come in a smaller box to reduce waste. Every Voyager I've ever opened had tons of wasted space surrounding the figure.
Personally speaking though I do like the current SS86 box as you can see the whole figure so it makes a nice display without having to open it. Which has cause me to be torn on whether to keep a set of the 86 movie figures MIB for posterity.

The current SS-86 box has the benefit of allowing you to put Hot Rod back inside and have the in-box display. So you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak.
The vacu-formed plastic insert allows the figure to fit snugly in it and be displayed in the box without the ugly twist ties and rubber bands.

I noticed it, but I'm not sure I understand it. The photo is on a deluxe package and Hot Rod is a voyager. On top of that, on the image itself, I see the color scheme, but I'm not seeing whatever part of Hot Rod you are in that image.

Are you suggesting that the characters on the box art correspond to the characters in that class? Wasn't yhe box art of Buzzworthy figures standardised across the range?
Interesting thesis either way

The package it appears on doesn't matter, all of the previous BB stuff shared the same art be it SS, Cyberverse, or Kingdom. Could even be that if that is Rodimus it represents any number of Hot Rod figures from Cyberverse Deluxe to Titans Return to an all new mold we haven't seen before, SS86 is just a theory on my part.

Yup. Could be anything. That line even resurrected that giant one-step Bee from AoE. So they could reissue a UT mold that it wouldn't surprise me. And if they ever do, it would be quite welcome.

I get that size and class may not matter for the art, but what part of that image says that the image is Hot Rod to you? I'm just not seeing Hot Rod, or any type of feature that tells me, "Oh, that's XXX." I just see unidentifiable robot parts in the color scheme you were mentioning.

But for those who are at all interested, I took that package art into Photoshop and wanted to point out where it looks like it should be Hot Rod's or even Ironhide's ??? face/head... What I circled on the right is what I can't figure out... It looks to me like the underside of an arm, with the darker area being the shoulder, and the lighter being the underside of the forearm... But I can't think of a figure who had that oval-shaped part/piece with the two dark circles in it... ????
Of course, this could be completely off.
I may be seeing stuff that really isn't there.

Yeah, that's what I see as well. Buzzworthy Bumblebee has completely lost the plot with the latest releases and given how many are SS86 figures my brain instantly goes to SS86 Hot Rod. The art is a little weird and I still haven't seen anyone post a good shot of the side of the box. It's hard to tell exactly what details the artist picked up on, it even looks like they drew in screws next to his head. Only Hot Rod-ish figure I can think of that might have screws kinda in that area is Cybertron Hot Shot, but then the head is all wrong. I guess we'll know what we've got when we've got it, it doesn't look like any Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime, or Ironhide that comes to mind. Could even be a new Primus for all we know, Bumblebee did have a rather major interaction with him in the Marvel comics!
(Probably derailed this topic enough with BB/86 speculation.)
