Sabrblade wrote:Full disclosure, I also said "IIRC". I was going off memory when I wrote that, without double-checking the original listing. Though, the notion of it being part of a capsule line does feel right for it being part of the successor to the Velocitron line, since Velocitron is itself a capsule line. However, thinking more about it, it's entirely possible that it could be a capsule line belonging to some other retailer, like Amazon. We'll just have to wait and see at this point.

I call bull because we already have a deluxe for the price of a voyager. I call that someone, somewhere, done goofed up. Maybe a reissue in the Buzzworthy line will have it fixed?
But seriously, I also think it was an oversight in the design phase, as opposed to a manufacturing misstep. Regardless, Ironhide looks better with the stripe, but would Reprolabels give us just a set of 2 stripes? Would that even be worth the material?
Knowing Toyhax, they would not only make a set with the stripes, but also all those G1 toy details and the obvious stickers for the windows, making the use of clear plastics all over pointless. At the bare minimum, this would be a 10$ set.
It should be a Deluxe and a Voyager based off the price, so maybe Heroic Nonsense Ironhide & Prowl? Either that or Magenta Hot Rod and...I dunno, a Legacy Junkion repaint or something?Sowndwave76 wrote:What do people think we’re getting in the upcoming 2 pk?
Today I heard someone guess an Ironhide & Ratchet with battle damage parts and/or deco.
I’m hoping that’s not it.
I’m also hoping that even if it doesn’t involve any battle damage, that this hasn’t become Ratchet’s SS86 release.
One idea I’ve had is a Prime & magenta Hot Rod.
Assuming Buzzworthy keeps with straight repainted figures; give them each 1 gun, throw in a matrix, & I think Hastak would be alright with the $76 price tag.

76 is the CAD price, making it 55 USD which is too cheap for a deluxe and voyager, sounds more like a 2 deluxe pack with some accessories.
I thought you just said the price was too low to include a Voyager, how can it include Ironhide in that case?william-james88 wrote:The tooling for a battle damaged itonhide existing makes me think he will be one of the two.

-JTPrime also said "it's 55 in USD, so it should be a Deluxe and a Voyager", and betting with that individual is typically safer than the opposite
-Every recent Target-exclusive/BB multipack has retailed for a cheaper price than it's individual components would have sold for, to the point that the Creatures Collide set was very nearly 4 Deluxes for the price of 3, so I think a Voyager + Deluxe for $55 fits Target more than 2 Deluxes + extra stuff

It seems the majority of Targets didn't even get them to begin with, I know mine didn't. That's the reason for the high aftermarket prices. We are seeing Ramjet getting rereleased so anything is possible, but not in a two pack for less than the original $60 price tag.

Agreed.
This made me think of the time someone posted a couple photos of endcaps at Target that literally had 12-18+ SS86 Slags (& a bunch of Grindors), & essentially claimed that those represented most Target stores at that time in trying to make a point.
Those situations may happen more than we’d think, but still have to be the minority, not anywhere close to the average.
That original E-29 2 pk was never overflowing; in my area those were bought up very quickly and never lingered.
Although I don’t think $55 is unrealistic for two figures of the same mold that’s already been used multiple times. At the same time, this isn’t a prediction; this is pretty unlikely.
Hastak clearly is alright with releasing reformatting figures, especially as exclusives.
It could be interesting to have a reformatting Skywarp, and Armada.
Really though, I won’t be surprised if it’s a voyager and a deluxe, or even 2 deluxes.
Knowing they’re going to be repaints, I’m not all that excited about this, more just curious to see if Hastak has a better idea & execution than Coronation Starscream.
william-james88 wrote:That person was me. You stated those were errors on Target's behalf with 0 proof of such. And you have 0 proof that it isn't average either, yet you talk like you've gone to all Targets in the US. We cant talk in absolutes. What we know us that those endcaps with a bunch of grindors and Slugs were reported across the US. They were not errors (they couldn't be, Endcaps are Prime real estate, mistakes and surplus are sent to market six stores instead of going on shelves). And they all sold, well past after collectors had bought theirs months ago, proving that a bunch were produced to satisfy demand that was not coming from collectors. That was my point and it was confirmed by Hasbro when I personally asked them about the Target audience for these toys .
william-james88 wrote:Now that you bring it up, you said the SS Coronation screamers in your area would never sell since collectors didn't want them. So, it's past the holiday season now, past the point where parents buy toys for their kids. Are those exact Coronation statscreams still at your Target?

That junkheap drive me nuts, it was never released in Walmart or TRU stores in Canada.

It has only joined the SS86 shelfwarmers here. I think Perceptor, Jazz, and Grimlock were the only SS86 figures in my area that moved fast. Slug, Hot rod, and Gnaw were here and hung around a bit, but they did move. Sludge, Ironhide and the cores have only just started showing up in the past month and a half. The Arcee wave isn't here yet.
But Kup, Blurr, Wreck Gar, Scourge, Sweep, Junkheap, and Starscream have shelfwarmed hard. $8 they are asking for the deluxes. Kup and Blurr are probably the reason the Bee movie Ironhide wave only JUST started showing up 2 weeks ago. I have not seen a voyager in stores past Bee movie Soundwave with the exception of Junkheap. and Starscreams are everywhere and anywhere.

Aside from Kup and Blurr, the situations are very different and another great case of issues with distorbution but at an international level (which is tough to reconcile). When you say the Arcee wave didn't show up, you mean the one with Sideways and BB?

I've only seen 1 since November and it's still sitting on the shelf because someone really wanted to put the open box style to the test.
Meanwhile I got one on Amazon before Christmas for $22.50.
