Where'd that spelling come from?Bumblevivisector wrote:Load Block

I get that. I just figured it had already been established as "Roadblock" without further confusion.prjkt wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Where'd that spelling come from?Bumblevivisector wrote:Load Block
Mistranslation
Road and Load are spelt and pronounced the same way in Japanese (no "L" consonant exists in their language)

If that wasn't intentional then it was one heck of a coincidence for all of these things to match.

You mean he's based on G1 Wildrider?
Or it's just they colored Knock Out's altmode pieces silver while keeping the rest of him in his normal red colors. Others have said he looks like Bluestreak or Crosscut.Emerje wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Emerje wrote:Knock Out has to be based on Generations Dead End, especially the gray car with red bot-parts and the red, black, and yellow on his chest and the color and shape of his "crotch plate" and upper legs. Yes and no. While it's true Generations Dead End makes a better Wildrider, Knock Out is definitely based on that one specific figure and not the G1 figure.

Because the GDO figures themselves were all homage toys with no original designs to call their own, and weren't American toys anyway.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It is very unlikely that Takara would homage a GDO figure.
Why is that any more unlikely than all of the obscure American comic references they've been making?

Why is that any more unlikely than all of the obscure American comic references they've been making? Masterpiece Marvel Grimlock? G2 comic Sideswipe? Heck, Roadblock is pretty obscure in himself. How about those four tapes that came with the most recent Soundblaster and Broadcast reissues, it doesn't get any more obscure than those, only Wingthing previously had a figure (also not released in Japan)! I don't think there's such a thing as "unlikely" any more. Only Bluestreak I can see in him is being a silver/gray car with a black stripe which would be needed to imitate the black on the Dead End figure's chest. Not to mention this is a Decepticon.
I think people need a visual:
It's not a 100% perfect match, but it's about as close as the other TAV repaints, maybe even closer.

Me too! The Steeljaw repaint has me VERY intrigued. I might get Takara's Steeljaw as well, especially if they make the plastic color more grayish.
