um do you guys know that this toy is factory misassembled?

when comparing this to the Animated I noticed the rear of the spider was not locking over the robots shoulders in spider mode. upon comparing it with Animated I noticed the screw hole on the robot body was on the opposite side. apparently the pieces with the ball joints for the robot arms are on backwards. I took it apart and heated the rivet inside the waist pieces until they came apart. I swapped the upper body pieces and re-riveted the pieces. after re-assembleing her, the rear of the spider now locks over the robot shoulders when in spider mode. the chest also easily slides up and locks into place with ease. its not a easy fix, I was cringing the whole time but now she is solid in both modes

Interesting enough, said rivets also have threads, just like regular screws, so after the fix you can just push them back in, no tools needed.

I am pretty certain it is. If everyone is having problems with the chest than I assume it is for the same reason.

if you aren't going to recorrect the toy, just be careful forcing the chest piece all the way up, because the body is on wrong the curvature of the body is facing forward instead of to the back.

The big deal here is to show that the chest pieces are on the wrong side by pointing out the screwhole.

Screwhole on Animated Blackarachnia is on the right chest piece:



Legends BW Blackarachnia right chest piece does not have screwhole:



Instead, the screwhole on Legends BW Blackarachnia is on the left chest piece:



While there is no hole on the left chest piece of Animated Blackarachnia:




This makes it so that the neck cannot go up. So it looks like this:

Based on amiami's feedback, they might be thinking I'm for an immediate refund/replacement. Sure enough that won't happen in the immediate future as the replacement might also be defective but if the info/complaints reaches critical mass, then TT might be forced to recall the batch and if the batch also includes that of amiami (they said they haven't received any yet) then I'll give them a call and have mine replaced.

It's like having fenrir all by his lonesome rants every two months about how She-ra is a misassembled fembot. No will will give a d@mn, but if "Seibertron" complaints that She-ra is a misassembled fembot, then Hasbro will surely listen.

Amiami will be my proxy for TT. Though the ugly thing is, with regards to amiami, it will be at your cost sending the item back ( how'd I know? I once inquired 2 years ago if I could replace a defective 1/6 scale anime figure that had its plastic wrapping melted to the figure. it wasn't that to overt and they, amiami agreed to replace it but it will be at my cost ( so the effort back then wasn't worth it. hlj, despite my complaints refunds everything though you do have to pay first for the shipping of a replacement) I haven't attempted it yet. As for the shipping back of the replacement, no idea yet.

If Takara does any fixes for this figure, they're more likely just be for those that are in Japan rather than any overseas purchases of the figure.

Just openned my Blackie and she's pretty fine. Her only real issues is it's hard to make her stand up and that neck gap is pretty unsighly.

BTW, I never saw ball joints so TIGHT before. Man, her arms are ridiculously hard to move! Still, she's great looking and it's fine to finally have a proper "g1" BW Blackarachnia.

This issue forced me to open my 'con fatale set. Blackwidow has no issues (thank Primus), love Nightbird and Slipstream (though I have a hard time getting the latter to stand)

Just one complaint, Slipstream's head, why didn't TT paint her head full black? Leaving the other half unpainted does not make sense since her light piping gimmick is nullified because of the red paint on her optics.
