There was also the animated line which gave us amazing designs and very unique transformations. Then there was the Cybertron/Galaxy Force line which is probably the peak for style and simplicity for toys, making the toys perfect for both collectors and kids. Simple without it sacrificing anything, and loads of details (plus projectiles, clear plastic, nice paint jobs, big heavy toys, sounds and electronics ect).

There are lots more lines like this and the year 2010 was just insane. I cant believe that 6 years ago you could get HFTD Leader Starscream for the same price people are getting Leader Megatron or Ultra Magnus today, it feels like another era. Hell, forget Magnus, he cost the same as CW Leader Starscream. I think I am going to start a fit, call the men in the white coats!

While CW is a super fun line with an excellent combiner port system, there is less value when looking at the diversity in designs and materials, plus the lack of added value for the leader class toys. Doesnt mean its a bad line at all, it is leagues better than FOC. But I would not call this the golden age either. It was discussed more in depth here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=105951&p=1747589&hilit=golden+age#p1747479

In short, think about it guys, Classics Prime is a better voyager Prime figure than CW Prime and that toy came out 10 years ago.

You are speaking of RID, that was all Takara designs from one year before with Car Robots or "Transformers 2000" as it was unofficially dubbed on the internet because Car Robots would show up with Carrots in searches.

The RID versions of X-Brawn, Prowl , and Sideburn differ from their Takara counterparts. With X-Brawn he lacked tailights and headlights in car mode. The paints were ok but not quite as clean as the Takara versions. I was pissed. Fire Convoy and RID Prime are the same except the reds are darker on Fire Convoy, but they filled in the hole on the matirx for RID Prime.

CW is a repaint fest of the same 10 molds for the deluxes, and the same 4 voyager molds also share the same. Takara has made the line a bit more enjoyable with all the proper characters and added paint apps.

I don't want to start a war or anything, but......Takara does use the Combiner Wars molds. More then once. :D

And for the exact same reason as hasbro, their public wants all the cool additional heads/figures; we piss and moan, but forget that until now, they had to import rook, offroad, a/b, cyclonus, and any others that they wanted, that's not to mention all of the gen molds that TT skipped (sky shadow, among others), but the fact that they're doing the exact same combiner teams as hasbro means that they will be repainting just as many figures as hasbro did, in fact they did it first with slingshot and neck-brace, so I don't wanna hear it >:oP

You didnt read the new policy, Paypal now changed it from 45 days to 6 months.

The way I see it is this, I am gonna have to wait for this guy anyways. If I am not part of the people who get him (the Hasbro version) at the begining, then I cant join in on the conversation of 4/5 molds. So if I miss out on that, then waiting till fall insed of summer to get him makes no difference to me. Plus the boat is registered too.

I wonder if Takara could turn Blast Off's torso backwards Universe Sunstreaker/Sideswipe style, while finding a new home for the parts-forming tailfin in robot mode, in order to make a more accurate torso look for a potential Shuttler/Movor redeco as part of a potential Baldigus/Ruination redeco of Bruticus.

I ponder if Takara might do this since Shuttler/Movor was more toy-accurate-looking in robot mode than Blast Off's cartoon model was:

Image

Sure, the combiner peg would end up on the front of the body instead of the back (as it was on Shuttler/Movor), but like how Takara made Zombie War Breakdown's combiner peg in two colors, so too could they make Shuttler/Movor's peg be orange on top and black on the bottom to let it better blend in with the rest of the torso's deco.

They could, but it seems that the tailfin is split (obviously) in the image, so it seems that they may have preemptively done that so that it can remain attached to the legs in bot mode, if so, that's truly impressive foresight for them :-?

I bet hasbro would've just released airraid in movors colors, I'm sure :-P

But for better accuracy wouldn't it be better to reverse the legs so the front becomes the back as well so he doesn't have the rocket feet? The fins could instead go on the back of his arms or something (That might actually look good on Blastoff, too). Blastoff's back has no screw holes (they appear to be hidden behind his chest) so it would look pretty good as Movor's chest with the right paint. So yeah, swap the knees, swap the arms and spin the head around and it's like a new figure. Would need a small change to give him better feet, but that's the only remolding needed if you're fine with the arms.

But then his lower legs would have the white top of the space shuttle on the front of his legs instead of on the back of his legs, as the front of Movor's legs are supposed to be black from the underside of the shuttle.

Well, if they are, it hasn't been announced, but at this point, I'm comfortable saying 'no', it won't be released individually. Maybe towards the end of the year, hasbro might release him and bigroove, but TT probably won't be.

So far there's no indication Groove and Blast Off will be sold individually, but Hasbro is supposedly entertaining the thought for at least Groove. If anything, we'll get his retool Afterbreaker.

Also, I'm sure some folks would like a Baldigus/Ruination repaint of UW/CW Bruticus. However Ruination was redone so many times. I think G1 Bruticus holds the record for combiner with the most repaints/rereleases.

We don't know with certainty, but Takara has not released any Unite Warriors figures individually, and I don't expect them to start now; while we have pretty much no word from Hasbro on whether they plan to release Bigroove and Shuttle Blast Off in their markets. The safe assumption would be "no", but I remain cautiously hopeful.

The truth is if you want to make sure you get that shuttle blastoff than dont even think about it, just buy the UW version: http://www.anime-export.com/product/29861

Cheaper than Hasbro (its 88$) but costs more for shipping (since its from japan) and you dont have to pay taxes.

Thats what me and everyone else who wants the definitive modernized G1 Bruticus are doing.

Thats what me and everyone else who wants the definitive modernized G1 Bruticus are doing.

ahem, if you want 'modernized', then you'd better be getting the cw jet version ;)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I completely agree, not everything can be google searched. But the folks here seem to be pretty nice about answering questions

Also, I'm sure some folks would like a Baldigus/Ruination repaint of UW/CW Bruticus. However Ruination was redone so many times. I think G1 Bruticus holds the record for combiner with the most repaints/rereleases.

And that's not even counting Battle Gaia

Ruination ruined Bruticus! :-(

(jk Bruticus is still awesome.)

Baldigus/Ruination had more of a better personality than Bruticus, so yes I would love a Baldigus/Ruination redeco (with Shuttler/Movor somehow made from UW Blast Off).

Anyone?

My assumption is "only is set" just as Groove.
But if you don't ask, you'll never know.

:-?

We don't know with certainty, but Takara has not released any Unite Warriors figures individually, and I don't expect them to start now; while we have pretty much no word from Hasbro on whether they plan to release Bigroove and Shuttle Blast Off in their markets. The safe assumption would be "no", but I remain cautiously hopeful.

Not at all. Modernized only refers to articulation and engineering in the context I was using.

I think he knew what you meant  though what would you call hasbro upgrading blast off to better fit the theme of the group (though this is just the idea of going from a shuttle to a jet, not the end product which was just a repaint)
