Scattorshot is only the weakest by virtue of having his awesome BFG on the nose of his ship mode being smaller proportionally. But without looking at the two toys side-by-side, it's a really cool space ship mode IMO.

3 hours maybe? Anyways, I personally find Lightspeed to be the weakest. I just dont see how the wheeljack mold was best for him, the front looks nothing like lightspeed. I would have found the dead end mold to be better even f it doesnt have a spoiler.

Based on previous pictures, I think the Wheeljack mold wins in robot mode, and that was the tipping point.

Unless Strafe is absolute pants, this may be the first UW set that I get. I do want to see more of the Hasbro one first, but Wheeljack instead of 5th use of the Dead End mold and a cool use of the Rook mold is good enough reason for me. Hasbro using the actual tank mold and including Scrounge is a bit of a plus though. The Takara Scattershot is a definite improvement over the minimal remold of the Hasbro one. They both share the same Afterburner, so he is neutral.

Perhaps, but it looks a lot more like what a 'techno'bot would turn into, instead of a generic car, this is a rare instance of updating the character instead of following the show (it may also be TT's way of using the wheeljack tooling...)

To me he's the second weakest. I can see they didn't put as much work into him than say Nosecone, but looking at those pics, in terms of a modern update it's not THAT bad.

Whereas when I look at Scattorshot, it's hard to still not see Silverbolt.

Just to be clear, lightspeed from hasbro wouldnt be the dead end mold, but the streetwise mold. I say this because you stated wheeljack, which is an entire retool of breakdown, who was also used for Sunstreaker.

Also, I dont see how the entire alt mode components can be seen as "minimal remold" for Hasbro's Scattershot.

I would love a lovingly painted cw wheeljack from TT, shame I'd have to buy a bunch of dumb re-repaints with it, in a boxset to get it though

Having Lightspeed be the fourth use of the Streetwise version is actually worse. At least if it was Dead End there is only one other major release use of that mold.

All of the robot mode components (besides the head) and the combiner head are all the same though, which matters greatly for the combined mode, which is what he will be displayed in. Takara at least remolded the robot components and gave him a new head.

I want to see Hasbro's, too, but this figure is AMAZING. The altmode is perfect, the robot mode is awesome. I can't even tell this is a Blast Off retool. It looks completely new. :shock:

Also, I was literally watching TFYuki's twitter for almost a half hour waiting for that image. As soon as it showed, it was newsed. took only 4 minutes from him releasing the pic to me having it front paged

Well, that seals the deal for me. Takara it is. I was looking for a way to get the Blast Off mold and here it is.

EDIT: And preorder at BBTS placed. $35 for a much better rendition of the figure is fine by me. Two molds I don't have.

Why? My figures have to actually look nice, that includes a well laid out deco, something TT has not done well for their last 4/5 combiners >:oP

I was feeling confident after the combined image of Comp was released, but now having seen each individual bot/alt mode, this UW set is a not-to-be-missed must have for me.

All of the bots look amazing.
Weakest alt mode imo is Afterburner, but the modification is okay.
I don't have (and won't get) Wheeljack, so the Lightspeed mold is cool with me.
I'm sure it's because it's unpainted, but in the collage images someone posted, it looks like the hood is less rounded on the sides compared to the Wheeljack mold.
Probably just from a slight difference in camera angle of the shots, but it does look more squared-off to me.

Anyway, can't wait to see color images.

I love all of those head sculpts!!!!
