Interesting giving him a goodbye to all his past companions.

And after seeing the trailer for this season's shows it is interesting seeing some of the creatures that are being brought back..

Mostly because it's out of left field. Didn't she say that she married one of the UNIT soldiers that helped her during "Last of the Time Lords" in "The Sontaran Stratagem?"

I'd have to check but in The Sontaran Stratagem she said she had hooked up with doctor Thomas Milligan (who we saw in Last of the Time Lords, and then that she was on her honeymoon during Children of Earth, but it is never said that she specifically married Milligan. It's entirely possible that after jumping back on the Tardis during season 4, she felt unable to stay with someone who wouldn't understand what she has been thru, or that Milligan wasn't ok with her duties with UNIT.

Either way, it did tie up RTD's loose threads, If you don't normally watch DW Confidential, it's worth it to get the one for part2, RTD does talk about the Doctor's "Reward" but also to see the other elements that went into the episode. (including how the last 30 seconds was completed by the new team, without Tennent, RTD, and the others who are leaving present.)

As for Rassilon, It is entirely possible that the Lord President was Rassilon, after all, they stated that during the time war that many had been resurrected to fight and die over and over. If they were willing to revive the Master from the Eye of Harmony, then frankly anything is possible. Thus why not pluck Rassilon the founder of their society to lead them in that darkest of hours?

Then again, It could just be the Doctor using the name of Rassilon as an insult, in a "Who do you think you are Lord President? Borusa? Omega ?? Rassilon?!?" kind of way.

Burn wrote:One thing i'm not too sure about, was the Time Lord President referred to as Rassilon? That's simply not possible, but then again, it would just be like RTD to ignore established fact that RASSILON WAS DEAD and his death was pretty much the foundation of Time Lord society.

You do understand the core premise of Doctor Who, right? You did just watch the same episode that had the Master conjured into existence ala Harry Potter?

There are no established facts in the series due to the very nature of the show. Anything can literally happen. Moffat's gone on record to state that it's a show unable to commit continuity errors. The only established fact is that the Doctor has 13 regenerations, and even that will be negated once the BBC sees fit.

If you really want an explanation, the temporal spacial probability-disparity caused by the Time War allowed the Time Lords to focus his psychic imprint into a new body.

David Tennant had to go some time and it was great to see him go the way he did in such a big way.
Matt Smith has certainly got big shoes to fill and I hope he does a great job.

It would be cool if they bring the doctors daughter into one of the episodes of the next series, or better still for Christmas.

So ...

Matt Smith - I like him.

Amy Pond - Could it be ... an assistant hotter than Leela? =P~

Inside of the Tardis - Well that was just a huge disappointment. Wasn't impressed one bit.

Intro music - Will take a bit of getting use to.

New logo - Never liked it.

Overall though I did enjoy it, Matt Smith looks like he'll be able to pull off the role.

Easily the best opening the show's had since its revival: it captures the wonder that we first had when we saw Eccleston. Hell, maybe even Hartnell.

It was amazing to watch: everything was so different. Tone, look, humour. Like watching a brand new show.

Amy Pond is pretty smokin'

I really enjoyed the intro to this episode. It was well paced and there was a good balance of humour, tension and of course Doctor-isms. I especially liked the giant eyeballs on spaceshipe, very cool. I can't wait for more.

First of all....*squeeeeee* a dr who thread XD *has a happy*

Second: I finally got to watch the new episode tonight as I missed it on saturday. And I was pleasantly surprised.

Matt Smith I kinda like him, he's quirky and odd and pretty much what you'd expect from the dr as well as adding his own personal flare to the role.

Amy Pond, well I personally think she's damn hot! It's the red hair I swear but I also think (for me) that she's the least irritating companion he's had of recent series and it's about time they got one who has a bit of spunk about her and isn't falling head over heels for the dr.

I think I am actually looking forward to this series. My overall verdict is on hold but the prospects look good. :)

Not one of Moffett's best stories, but still an enjoyable episode.

"You look like a human!"
"No, you look like a Time Lord".

I know we're only two episodes in but i'm enjoying Matt Smith's take on The Doctor.

The Eleventh Hour gets its NA premiere next weekend. Can't wait for it.

Something else I can't wait for is a detailed plot summary of The Beast Below on Wikipedia. It doesn't take this long...usually...for that to happen.

And I saw the trailer for Victory of the Daleks. I once proclaimed that, regardless of how well Moffat did with it, I'd reject it outright due to Dalek fatigue. I may have to eat my words.

I must admit, when I first found out he'd be taking over duties as the doctor I was apprehensive about the prospect, but it turns out I'm really enjoying his take!
Feels very much like tenant's doctor to me, just as quirky and loveable.

I haven't had a chance to watch the new episode yet, so I shall be doing that now I think.

Not to spoil for those that have not seen the third episode..

A complete re-design of the Daleks.. Also multi Colored Daleks have returned.. They actually get away this time too. Also, the crack in space makes another appearance.

Decided to wait for the Canadian airing rather than downloading. Try to support the regional and all that.

Now that I've checked on the new series...

Pretty much agree with Burn, but i'll wait til I can see more of the inside of the TARDIS before making a judgment.

Wasn't too impressed with this week's. Too rushed, too much of a convulted plot, and oh hey, look at that ... another bunch of Daleks survived ("we just did okay!") and happened to stumble onto some of their most powerful tech along the way.

Honestly, you'd think it was written by RTD it was that bad.

I have to say that I was not that impressed either. I hope the episodes get better soon or the Moffat experiment may come to a close..

The one thing that kept my interest was the forgetting of the Daleks.. Interested to see how this will play out.

All this really means is that, when they come around again (and you know they will), their reappearance won't have to be explained away as "We thought they were all destroyed, except..." like it was during RTD's era.

Being fair, the Dalek ship was the one seen escaping from the series four finale.

I thought it was rather fun - hated the new designs though. Spitfires in space is the best idea since Spitfires.

Really? I was under the impression that the thing that AltTen did to destroy all the Daleks destroyed all the Daleks, even those that somehow managed to ger away.

Of course, they've been doing that sort of scenario since the end of Series One, which is why it works a lot less the more they use it, and which is why you can probably tell I've developed a rather obvious dislike of the tactic.
