Bumblebee wasn't a loud-mouth smart-ass, Ratchet wasn't a grumpy war vet, Prowl wasn't a Ninja, Blitzwing wasn't a schizophrenic German, and Scrapper and Mix Master weren't stereotypical construction workers based off of Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci. You can't criticize a character because they don't resemble whoever they're based off of.
I know, I know. But this one really demeened the character. The changes made to the other characters were either to make them cooler, funnier, or just differetn in a positive way.

This one was different in a negative way.

Really? No offense to whoever chose it, but the name sounds a little dumb to me. Not that Scuzzoid sounds much better.

The character really reminded me of that G1 character (from "Five Faces of Darkness" and later also in "Chaos" and a couple others). I actually wasn't ever a big fan of him.

Anyway... I guess Rattletrap it is.

Love seeing Shockwave back to his classic colors. And about time we see Arcee!

Look I did get an email from someone who works on animated but I didnt have the proof to back up my claim cause I usually delete all my emails after I read them.

Sometimes I even got email responses from Derrick Wyatt from time to time saying he liked my ideas and said I had some interesting theories.

The person that told me that Animated was ending after season 3 was not Derrick Wyatt but someone else also working on animted I forgot his name since the email I recieved was a couple of months ago.

This could also just be a misleading info campaign to keep fans guessing on rather or not animated will continue or not after season 3.

Sort of like how Mr. Bay & Company kept us guessing on the movie franchise.

I guess we will find out once and for all at this years' Botcon 2009 the fate of animated and perhaps more news on possible new tf projects and maybe some more DVD Box Sets from Hasbro.

For now I am just going to soak in an watch the remaining 2 last episodes then go back and watch the whole animated series from season 1 to get everything in perperspective to make since of everything.

I am planning on purchasing all of the re-releases of G1 on DVD cause it is a remastered version plus My Rhino sets are starting to were out to do age a dedgrading over the years since I have had mine so long.

I have the 1st set done pre-ordered, then I am also going to get all 3 seasons of animated on DVD so I can watch it the way it was meant to be seen.

I am then getting the release of X Men Volumes 1 & 2 on DVD the 1st time in 15 or 16 years that series has been on DVD.

I hope they do Spider-Man like that also another one of my favs.

And how long have you had those for? Cuz they're not that old. Discs should last for a long time (much longer than VHSs, at least).

Your right...useing toy info is out of character fr you.And BTW...toy instructions have never been considered canon in any of the TF medias.

Your not entirely correct.

He never appeared in the cartoon with out his armor nor did he ever appear in the original G1 comics with out his armor.

In the 90's retro buzz, a comic company named Dreamwave got the rights to do TF comics. They had 1 issue in which UM appeared with out armor....but he was still refered to as Ultra Magnus.

I'm looking at the Hasbro.com PDF of the instructions of the Commemorative Series Ultra Magnus figure, and I don't see anywhere where it calls the cab robot anything, not even just "Magnus".

Look at it here and see for yourselves.

Whatever they desided to name him the design was clearly based off of the Botcon pre-earth Rattrap. I really didn't exspect him to be named Rattrap on a planet that fears organics but that's the design they used. A more styalized version but still the same Botcon exclusive with his stupid brain covering hat and everything. The characterization and voice sounded nothing like Rattrap but the design was definatly him.

Same goes for the female character. They may of changed her name but the design looks ALOT like G1 Fire Star.

BTW I thought the color change thing was rather pointless. It wasn't enough that he has two vehicle modes and two robot modes they had to make him change colors too?

Oh that image abouve, the two guys, one of them is Huffer the other looks like the same mold but taller. They look like the Mario Bros. with their suspenders and mustaches.

I would if I could but Hasbro split it into several pages instead of one or two.

I'll just say that those instructions give no name to the cab robot and only refer to the full robot mode with the trailer by name, as "Ultra Magnus".

I actually bought my Rhino sets they day there were 1st released cause mine came with something like a collector's deal.

But still I will buy the re-releases also I did the same way with the Re-Releases of the Generation 1 movie I bought every version of that and I still have the original in case VHS Version also.

Is my Original VHS Version in the original case worth anything it is still in good shape despite how old it is.

Man all these cool new figures coming out of the Animated Line and of the Revenge Line I guess I should get back into collecting them like I did with GI Joe and G1 back in the day.

I guess I will never grow up I am now 28 and I still enjoy transformers and GI Joe I guess somethings are just too good to give up no matter how old you are.

I dont care if I am 28 I will still watch transformers cause I grew up with it from a small kid back in the 80 to the now with animated and it still kicks some ass and is even better than Generation 1 was back in the day but I still consider G1 a cult classic that will only get better with age.

Transformers is like a fine wine it only improves with age.

Here were are the 25th anniversary of Trasformers and I still enjoy it and I ensure many of you do also despite bad series being done here and there over the years.

So I wonder what the artist formally known as SABER PRIME was talking about.

Etherway thanks.

I think I'm going to dig out my reissue UM to see for myself.

I found another thing of Ultra Magnus's instructions, but it's the original 1986 instrcutions instead of the reissue.

Still, this gives no name to the cab robot either.

No, it wasn't Michael McConnohie. Although it did sound eerily close to him. Loved that. I also loved Rattrap & True Colors Shockwave. That made the episode for me. I only wish Scott McNeil voiced Rattrap. Also, does anyone else want Sentinel Prime dead?? I can't stand him anymore. Please, PLEASE, someone put him offline permanently. Oh, one more thing: Grandus is southern? Really? Oh well. And, although not characters (yet) Fort Max & Metroplex got referenced in there. Nice touch. I really wish Animated was getting a 4th Season. I would enjoy it sooo sooo much. There's so much potential. Lots of old characters to re-imagine & new stories to tell.

This one was different in a negative way.

But Sentinel, Jazz and Ulta Magnus acted in a similar way towards humans when they first encountered them.

I just saw that episode and I've got to say, season 3 of Animated is, by far, the best season they've made. They've really stepped it up a notch in my opinion.

The episode was great, and I loved the cameos, Grandus, Glyph, Powerglide, Flareup, Rattrap, Tracks and I'm sure there's a few more.

And, damn it, now I do need to buy the true-colours Shockwave.

Hey, does anyone know who the white Bumblebee repaint is? I'm assuming it can't be Bugbite. Maybe it's just a generic bot?

It still might get a 4th Season. There's been ZERO official confirmation that it's done.

And I love how much I hate Sentinel.

I repeat she looks like Firestar.

Flairup is a repaint of Energon Arcee in Firestar's colors and the character who appeared on Animated doesn't look an Arcee repaint to me. Therefore she looks like Firestar.

I repeat, that is NOT Rattrap. That is Rattletrap.

Interesting how some of the cameos have modified names, like Autotrooper too.

But as far as I'm concerned, he's an homage to Rattrap, so Rattletrap will be Rattrap to me until they introduce a separate character specifically referred to as Rattrap.

Don't forget Dug-Base, which was changed from the Dag-Base.

Weapon: Crossbow
I caught Steeljaw. Very brief but deffinately Steeljaw. The possible end to this series is killing me. When is Botcon and when will we get answers?
