Honestly, the only thing I think is more appealing to children are the fact that shows with this style of animation are forced on children & put in prime time slots. They really just watch because it's transformers, & it's the only choice they're getting for giant transforming robot-on-robot (on giant cockroach) action.
Yes very true but look at the animation of most cartoons on today compared to years ago. They're geared for a way younger audience. Although i guess if i was a kid i would watch anything with giant transforming robot-on-robot (on giant cockroach) action too!

You can't get much younger than 5....that's how little I was when I started watching G1. Does this mean Animated is geared towards kids that can't hardly even walk yet? Fetuses?
I'm just kidding. But seriously, saying something's "redisigned for a new generation" is honestly a cheap coverup for saying, "yeah, we didn't want to pay as much as we did then, so we're going cheap & putting up a half-arsed effort, but we're going to tell you it's better & give you no other choice untill you agree."
It's been happening in animation for years.....hell go look at older Looney Tunes cartoons & some of the newer ones when Chuck Jones took over. The earlier stuff looked almost like paintings what with all the detail they put into them.
