No. This is another take on it. G1 Upgraded.

Anyway people, there is no connection to G1 and BW whatsoever. It's never been implied that it was and it would not make sense continuity wise. All the original G1 stuff was put in there as a nod to the older fans.

Honestly, the only thing I think is more appealing to children are the fact that shows with this style of animation are forced on children & put in prime time slots. They really just watch because it's transformers, & it's the only choice they're getting for giant transforming robot-on-robot (on giant cockroach) action.

Yes very true but look at the animation of most cartoons on today compared to years ago. They're geared for a way younger audience. Although i guess if i was a kid i would watch anything with giant transforming robot-on-robot (on giant cockroach) action too!

i liked the homage to the orignal cartoon. that's about it. i'm not sure why they're making Optimus Prime out to be more more of a Cheetor/Hot Rod character. Ratchet is more like Iron Hide...etc, etc.

The first three episodes were enough for me to decide that's it's not worth investing any time or money for that matter in this story line.

it's disappointing that they followed up the movie with this, but here's hoping the kids at least like it to keep the TF's alive.

When i started watching, i tought...its gonna suck, im sure of it. Two second later, i was hooked on the TV. Can't explain it..

So, i was like "Oh yeah" when certain stuff happened, espcially the minute Prime closed him Mouthplate. But, strangely, i prefer this younger Prime with a mouth. Heresy? No...

So, yeah..i like...and to be honest, i was tired of those freakin Anime!

Two, since all the tech is based off of Megatron, wouldn't it be feasible for him to take control of it? At least if Sumdac used code from him, anyways.

As I understand it, Megatron is subliminally having Sumdac rebuild him. I'm assuming that Sumdac would subconsciously hope Megatron is an Autobot during said process.

Oh and in Megatron's bio it says that he can take control over all the robots and manufacturing machines of the world!

Just finished watching it. Here are my opinions:

LIKE:
-G1 history trax
-extra abilities hidden under their "sleeves"
-Corey Burton
-Susan Blu continues her TF legacy
-Starscream not a coward like his G1 counterpart, and can be an actual threat
-the Bot's lack of knowledge of human behavior
-look of Megatron
-Teletran 1
-Tara Strong
-The Nemesis
-human sidekick not as annoying so far
-the Bots helping fix up the damage from the battle
-opening theme song
-Megatron fighting on even while missing an arm, unlike his G1 counterpart, whom would run when outnumbered

DISLIKE:
-skinniness of everyone
-animation style-if this had RiD, style I would love it more
-David Kaye doing Optimus' voice, voice would be fine for someone else.
-giving the older characters the look of seniors (Ultra Magnus and Ratchet). It didn't look too bad on Kup for G1, but this was a little too much
-Blitzwing, opinion could change if I can get used to the 3 faces and voice (not saying his G1's voice was good though)
-the Bots coming out of stasis like they took a long nap...these guys are machines, not organics! I was surprise the no one said: "Hey Hicks, you look just like I feel."

I'll go watch it again later. I'll add more to the list if it's worthy to note.

Cartoon Network's Saturday morning and Comcast/Brighthouse/Time Warner's Kids On Demand (Free) airings both had/have an opening sequence, which is really quite well done.

Even better than the ones found on YouTube. Nice to see that they put some work into this show for once.

You can't get much younger than 5....that's how little I was when I started watching G1. Does this mean Animated is geared towards kids that can't hardly even walk yet? Fetuses?

I'm just kidding. But seriously, saying something's "redisigned for a new generation" is honestly a cheap coverup for saying, "yeah, we didn't want to pay as much as we did then, so we're going cheap & putting up a half-arsed effort, but we're going to tell you it's better & give you no other choice untill you agree."

It's been happening in animation for years.....hell go look at older Looney Tunes cartoons & some of the newer ones when Chuck Jones took over. The earlier stuff looked almost like paintings what with all the detail they put into them.

This is one of Cartoon Network's best examples of animation. They put a lot more work into it than you'd think. I'm not sure why so many are saying the overall quality is down. They're wrong. This is one finely crafted show. Indeedily do good neighbor.

OK Reality Check
THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT CONTINUATION ISSUES BETWEEN THE NEW SHOW AND THE 80'S SHOW ARE 30 SOMETHING GUYS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO BUT whine ON A WEB SITE (I guess this must include me).
but relay people this is with out a doubt the best TF show Since the beat wars.
every compliant i have read so far has either to do with continually or appearance.

BUT we (30's male) are not the target market. Kids are. My 7 year old son likes it way better then Energon or Ceibertron.

So stop your whining and appreciate that this is finally getting a new generation of TF fans involved. AEC did not grab the imagination or interest of kids. The new TF show does. that is all that matters.

Thanks for bringing up Looney Tunes. It's the same with old Disney animation too. Back then, animation was treated like works of art it seems and now "Alright, let's go with this poopy style and call it 'new design'. Kids will love it." It's the dumbing down of animation and the dialogue is just talking down at kids. This show is meant for kids and that's fine but I bet that kids are only watching because it's probably the only thing on and not because they actually like it.

1.) No one's whining about G1 continuity issues. Seeing the links and whining are two totally different issues. (though, it's nice to see that you're admitting that YOU are whining. YOU.)

2.) I'm not 30, or above. (saying all of us fit that is incorrect, much like the craptacular tone of your introductory post. Yay us.)

3.) A lot of people appreciate and accept the series and find it to be the next big thing for TFs. (saying otherwise means you just want to see what you want to see and focused mainly on a few negative posts. Which, last I checked...are still allowed because people are entitled to an opinion. If that changes, please...let us know.)

4.) Welcome to Seibertron. Warning. Seibertron contains nuts.

I finally caught the three-part opener on YouTube last week and have two words for my reaction.

Not impressed.

There are some good points, but not a whole lot to keep me from seeing this as the latest version of Transformers: Gobots.

Yes the series is geared for children, but i think for long time fans as well. The fans as well as the new generation of kids help keep the TFs machine rolling. And i don't think it's whining when someone exspresses their personal opinion. You saying the animated series is the best since Beast Wars is YOUR opinion, not everyone elses. So please don't say everyone is whining when they're voicing their opinion or having a debate over something they're passionate about. I'm 32 and TFs are a hobby for me and i enjoy them immensely. So please don't include me in your whining over 30 catagory. Thank you!

Well, there was that black-haired Chibi-Velma (from Scooby-Doo) standing next to the kid with Ben's voice from Ben 10, when he asks Sumdac how he came up with his robot idea.

At least we've been spared embarrassing bloopers. So call it cheap if we must, but at least it's CORRECT. I bet if Shockwave has one hand, they won't give him two. We won't have multiple Starscreams unless it's intentional, Autobots magically becoming Decepticons, blatent voice errors, etc. And please, please, continue to keep the scale right! :D

The reason that boy had Ben's voice is because it is done by Tara Strong who was already in the studio as Sari, so they just had her do it.

I highly doubt that they are going to be paying for Additional voice actors for minor human parts when they have Tara for all of the children.
