Metal Attraction

Postby Foxbear » Sat Jul 09, 2011 10:50 pm

Hmm, a certain spider-bot is in for the Starscream treatment :HEADHURTS: if she doesn’t talk fast. :-? Now what information might she be able to hand over in exchange for continuing to remain online and un-tortured? Maybe the location of the Autobots know human allies?

Look out Jack! :CON: Megatron knows where you live!

Episode 18 -

Breakdown now wears an eyepatch-like cover over his lost eye.

   *gasp* ZOMG, it's Airachnid! She'sbackshe'sbackshe'sbackshe'sbackshe'sbackshe'sbackshe'sbackSHE'SBACK! *squeeeee!*

Guess Miko didn't quite learn her lesson after all. Or grew out of it. Either way, darn.

Slag! Arcee scratched Airachnid's face! Wonder if that scar's gonna stay from now on.

So, Jack's father isn't around because he left him. That's an interesting take on his kind of character.

And so Airachnid is forced back into the Decepticons. I'm actually surprised. This episode was much better than I anticipated. Though it's not as great as some of the previous ones, it's still a pretty good one.

I thought this would be some fluff throw away kind of episode but it was a lot better than that. Any episode heavy on Bulkhead, Airachnid and Breakdown is good with me.

I like the way that Breakdown is wearing some sort of eye patch but i would assume his eye will get replaced at some point otherwise it'll hamper him in battle.

There have only been a couple of naff episodes so far and even they had points to enjoy. This series must have the most consistent 1st season quality out of all the TF series.

another great episode.

the human side story, didnt come off too pretentious, and was actually kinda good.

and the awesome action scenes rocked.

i think this series is doing a great job so far. I just hope they expand the cast semi-soon. not by much, just like 2-3 more on each side. I'd love to see TF:P's versions of ironhide, or grimlock, or jazz, or wreckgar, or lockdown,or warpath.......

It's pretty safe to assume that some time has passed since the previous episode, so this one just occurs at a time when she's adjusted better to this. Though, this episode still showed her being concerned about Jack's safety.

Dude, I know Prime hasn't gotten to BW's level yet, but placing it behind Beast Machines? That's just cruel.

As for this episode, I don't give Airachnid's renewed relationship with the Decepticons five minutes. She makes Starscream seem trustworthy. It can't be long before she kills something then runs like hell.

Also, great episode!

Just watch the episode predictable like I though except the end. Thank god the Con's are back forgot they were even in this show. Why does Breakdown wear an eyepatch now was Knock-out out of eye's or somthing? So far June's becoming my new favorite female on the terms she doesn't irritate me like the other two. I mean my god people do you see why I hate Miko after this episode. so next week episode will try to give me a reason to care for her & Jack. the next one with Starscream wanting to join the Autobots will guest star Admiral Ackbar.

Whether you like it or not, Beast Machines was undeniably a well crafted series with strong writing, excellent performances, a deep and intense story, and high-minded overall quality and competence.

Unless she stays stuck to Breakdown for a while, since the Cons don't seem to have a similar technology to the polarity gauntlet at the moment.

See episode 16.

Plus, Knock Out didn't have a part Starscream needed in episode 15, so maybe eyes aren't that easy to come by.

Only at the cost of sacrificing everything that had been built during Beast Wars, almost purposefully ruining each returning character in the process.

Are you suffering from amnesia? Because the only episode that didn't prominently feature the Decepticons was Scrapheap.

Simple she switch from fine to bitch in nano second and no I don't have amnesia. The con's haven't done ANYTHING in the last two episode. sure Stevescream saved Breakdown in Operation: Breakdown but thats it I don't count Blackeracni-er I mean Airachnid because she defected from the Con's at the time. And don't take it personal that I called Arcee a bitch (again) but trust me I be rooting for her to put two in Stevescream ten-spot in "Partners" because if the Bot's fall for Stevescream wanting to join them I will have no sympathy for them.

I dunno about bitch. Snarky, sure, but not a bitch.

Breakdown is a Decepticon. You may have noticed he was prominently featured in the episode. "Doing something" doesn't always mean "fighting" especially since that episode almost entirely revolved around him.

DJ1107 wrote:I don't count Blackeracni-er I mean Airachnid because she defected from the Con's at the time.

She still counts as one.

DJ1107 wrote:And don't take it personal that I called Arcee a bitch (again) but trust me I be rooting for her to put two in Stevescream ten-spot in "Partners" because if the Bot's fall for Stevescream wanting to join them I will have no sympathy for them.

It depends on how he plays himself. If he walked up to the Autobots, explained Megatron is an abusive psychopath who would rather beat his own troops senseless rather than win the war, and said "Screw that, I'm switching sides" then yeah, I'd probably believe him too. That said, it's always struck me as a bit odd that his Decepticon insignia is red instead of purple like everyone else...

And what's up with "Stevescream?" I get that it's because Steve Blum voices him, but is that the best you could come up with? I mean, he doesn't even need a nickname, if you're going to give him one, use your imagination, you could stand to be a bit more clever with it.

Really? i think it already knocks the socks of Beast Machines and SGMF, plus i haven't seen all of Cybertron yet but so far that seems to be endless episodes of non-stop racing and slighly preachy talks about team work!!

okay how about Spikescream, StarGrunt, one of the 6 to 12 voice actor who will haunt me til I die I can go on. I will say I'm actually looking up to Jack now that there's a reason for him being a sad sack for most of the show If we figure out that Miko's folks are dead and she's just in denial then I'd probably care for her. Also pretty it up all you want about having logic behind Starscream heal turn but the giant alien fish knows what'll go down it'll bee like Osborn controlling SHIELD all over again.

...What?

In other news; Starscream has joined the Autobots before. That time, he was actually quite genuine about it. He switched back, sure, but you could tell his spark just wasn't in the right place.

Why all this hate for Jack? He's the most relatable character in a TF cartoon, he's also not bloody annoying like the other two kids in the show.

Sabrblade wrote:It's still got a ways to go before it tops Cybertron, Beast Machines, Super-God Masterforce, Animated, and then Beast Wars.

Seriously, Cybertron? Yea I could see it being placed behind Beast Machines, although I enjoy Prime a lot more than BM, but Cybertron?!
Cybertron is OK for a Unicron trilogy series, but by no means is that a sign of quality. That's like saying, getting shot in the knee is better than getting shot in the head.

I enjoyed this episode, Arcee is a great character and I have to say Breakdown with the eye patch looks pretty cool. Sure at first I thought it was a stupid thing to do, I mean why not just build in a new eye? But then he said that it serves as a constant reminder to never fail again. So ether he decided not to get an eye replacement so that he can edge himself on constantly, or Megatron decided it was a good punishment or, yea the cons are all outta eyes.

Still think TF:Prime is a lovely second tied with G1... Only Beast Wars tops them both... cause that's just epic.... Prime has a long way to go to close that gap... but time will tell...

So far this has been one of the more consistently good TF shows which does not annoy me with repetitive overused transformations or really childish/annoying characters (Looks at Cybertron/Animated as they weep in the corner...) Sure Miko grates a bit... but atleast they toned it down a bit compared to the earlier episodes....

Beast Machines was decent... but better than Prime???? Seriously???

*shrugs*

To each his own... People are allowed to have their own opinions... but to me... this is my top three.... So let me enjoy some of that deliciously energon rich series that is Prime... ;p

For those who wondering, my top 5 TF series are:
1. Beast Wars
2. TF G1 & TF:Prime
4. TF Animated (though I really hated the animation style, annoyance factor and most of the designs....)
5. Beast Machines

At this point, Prime is mostly average. It's definitely getting better, but season 1 is mostly a foundational season that's laying a lot of ground work but hasn't really gone anywhere with it all. Season 2 is said to be the big epic storyline that will reshape this show into something supposedly phenomenal, with the season 1 finale acting as the kick start of it all. But for now, it's just... only a little above average.

The likes of Beast Wars, Animated, Masterforce, Beast Machines, and Cybertron all sported a higher quality that featured top-notch writing, engaging character arcs, interesting plot twists, well rounded humor, competent continuity, and an air of magnificence and grandeur that only these few have been able to capture (which Cybertron just barely managed to do giving its limitations, while the other four did so with ease).

By this point in the show (18 episodes in), Beast Wars had undergone a plethora of grand events prior to Inferno's awakening, Animated had gone through a LOT before the Elite Guard had come to check on Optimus' team (and Sentinel getting hilariously decapitated), Masterforce had gathered many new Autobot allies before the factionless lone warrior Sixknight arrived to face Super Ginrai, Beast Machines had successfully brought back Silverbolt and gave him a fair chance to readjust to the Maximals, and Cybertron had reached the final victory of the Planet Cup competition that brought the search for the Velocitronian Cyber Planet Key to a close (though, Galaxy Force would have this happen in its 19th episode instead). Prime, however, hasn't done much of anything besides bring in some newcomers and bring back Megatron.

It's still surpasses, RiD, The Headmasters, G1, Go-Go-Go-Bots, Victory, Armada, Energon, Cyber Missions, and the two Universe flash cartoons (and I'm the guy who likes RiD as equally as Beast Machines, with both tying for the spot of my fourth favorite series). ;)
