But his transformation is basically just standing up on his back legs and flipping his head around in his chest. Possibly even simpler than Fort Max and Metroplex.

No doubt, but that's basically how all BM Cheetors transform and looking at his bot mode character design in the cartoon there's really no other way to do it. I'm not going to say he belongs on the list, he doesn't, just that he's the most accurate version we go at the time.

No, they already announced that POTP is only 4 waves. They wanted to start a new year with a new line rather than having the new line start in the middle of the year. The only thing left to reveal are exclusives.

I hope they reveal a Titan for WFC that will actually make this list.

Hopefully waves 3 and 4 will have certain figures in desperate need of an update
But I'm also excited for what WFC will bring

https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... ges/40301/

I strongly encourage further discussion in that thread.

Stay here if you want to keep talking about the content of Will's top 5.

i already know about those and it seems we are not seeing everything that will be coming out
but whatever

Wave 3 is the terrorcons, wave 4 is just novastar and repacks. Other than exclusives we've seen all deluxes we're getting. What we haven't seen is the prime masters of wave 3 yet. As I said there's only 1 titan class this year...

Now back to the list...

I'm with the camp that says fort max city mode is much more involved than metro. It also more greatly resembles a city than metro. Plus fort can have a sword and was the main character of his own show, metro can't say that can he :-P

I own Platinum Cheetor and he's one of the BEST platinum figure ever and one of the best Cheetor toy period. Quite ironic for a character cursed with so many bad toys.

BTW, I'm planing to finally have an Energon Omega Supreme soon. This will display very well with my YOTS one and it's Maketoy's upgrade.

Thaks for the cool discussion guys, and to those who also made their own lists. Shajaki, your list is super cool and I am glad to see that in the end it is very similar to mine in terms of molds. While I most definitely do these lists based on my opinions, I do tend to consider the mold more than the deco (unless its a list specifically about deco) so to keep things as welcoming to fans as possible, I pick the most known version.

In short, the answer to a lot of questions I see when people ask why someone didnt make the list is that I try to make this list as welcoming and easy to understand as possible so that we can then get into specifics and added fun in the comments for those that wish to go there. So while this list was about toys, the fiction aspect was definitely part of it, meaning that it would be about giant toys for giant transformers, like that the title could be interpreted either way: "Top 5 Best Giant Transformers Toys".

G1 Metroplex is better (as a TRansforemrs toy) than the Generations version but he is a small toy and would look out of place in this list. I would much rather add Tidal Wave before I put G1 Metroplex.

And while I do still see G1 Scorponok as being the biggest Decepticon, just based on mass and space he takes, I didnt realize others wouldnt see it that way with Overlord being a smidge taller, so thats why I altered the sentence. I preferred us debating who was better rather than who was taller :) And while i wish I owned a G1 Overlord, I find Scorponok more intimidating and hulking, as a toy. Plus, he is a toy more people have and are familiar with than G1 overlord so in this kind of list, it worked better to include Scorponok. He has an amazing base mode too, one of the best, which is a big factor in this list for me. And unlike Overlord, his alt mode is not restricted by any kind of aspect of realism when it comes to it being giant.

And I would feel like an idiot replacing anyone on this list with BM Supreme Cheetor. Not just beause he isnt that great, but because he wasn't giant on the show. I really find no use to that toy, what is the point of having a giant cheetor in my collection ?! Of course, I wont limit anyone to what they want to include, but I did want most people to enjoy the list as possible and make sense of it, and putting Cheetor, or even Air Attack Primal, or any other supreme class non giant TF would have felt off.

Anyways, in the end no one has to agree but if anyone wondered why I chose what I chose, it was to make the list as definitive, inclusive, simple, diverse and welcoming as possible. And then we get into the nitty gritty here, which I am glad is happening. If I mention everything in the list then there will be no point to all the comments or a discussion. Glad to have you all here :D

I commend you for making these lists. Not sure if I would ever want to make one because you always leave yourself open to leaving off someone's favorite character/toy or they just disagree with your ordering. I guess it's OK though, as long as the discussion stays civil.

Urm I'm not sure what that old photo is to prove except that hasbro had a rethink afterwards...hasbro themselves has confrimed that POTP is ending this year and that they stick to one titan release a year. We've seen all the deluxes, other than exclusives there is sadly no more to be revealed than that last of the prime masters (which look nothing like that picture really)

I totally agree the original Fort Max should absolutely be #1, I loved that toy as a kid, and felt fortunate to own it for close to 20 years. I'm a little surprised TR Trypticon didn't make the list aside from honorable mention, I'd have placed him above the planet bots Unicron & Primus...but ...to each his own.

Additionally, while Omega Supreme is obviously my favorite character, I cant say I feel the same about his Energon rendition (or any of its variants). Admittedly this comes from my biases that he is a space-train-thingy as opposed to something closer to the original, but objectively I can see how someone who was the target audience at the time would have loved this toy. For what its worth, I did own it for a while, and chose to make the super-mess that combined Energon Optimus, Wing Saber, and Omega Supreme with all their parts. Of the 3 versions (Standard, Sentinel & YotS) I think Sentinel was my favorite. had I known this was going to come out I would have held off on the first Energon Omega Supreme and purchased the sentinel repaint, oh well, hindsight....

I know its been hotly debated on these forums, but if Hasbro ever does decide to take a chance on a modern age version of the original Omega Supreme, FT-20 would be a good place to look for engineering. I know the idea of a "parts former" in the 21st century is unacceptable to some fans. To ME Omega Supreme being heavily altered to something he originally was not, is even more unacceptable. For clarification, I'm talking about overall alt mode. If he happened to be a target-master or headmaster, I'm fine with that. Its just the idea that overall he would adapt a completely different alt mode that gives me pause.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Yes, definitely dig the list Will! My list would include G1 Trypticon, since he was my "last" Transformer before I stopped collecting in the 80s.

Other than that? I would also include Armada Unicron, G1 Fort Max (godly!), Scorponok (so bad ass, even if he's a butterface)....and also keep dat Omega Supreme.

Wait, you stopped collecting for over 25 years?

And I dig your list, its pretty similar.

Holly molly, thats quite the break. You stopped collecting before i was even born. Glad to have you back though, just in time for all that you loved in G1 to come back with better articulation :D

Exactly! The articulation and attention to detail for lots of the modern updates are very well appreciated. ;)

It's not just that. G1 Devastator is as stable as a house of cards. The CW titan version is rock solid despite the cheap plastics.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Agreed, Kanra -- vanilla CW Devastator isn't 100% perfect, but as an upgrade to G1, it delivered for me.

So you are saying CW Devastator is the Christopher Plumber of TF toys?
