All things considered, I think it's probably a GOOD thing that some people don't like the club exclusives.

If the mainstream Bumblebee-hording, Bay-following, just-discovered-Transformers-because-of-the-live-action-movie masses were on board, then I'd think TFCC didn't do their homework or dig deep enough. (Not saying those fans are bad... they're actually helping keep the franchise alive and funding this whole adult niche market franchise. Cheers for those protoform fans.)

BUT I'm glad to be in the niche that these toys are aiming for, and I tip my hat to them for the efforts. >:oP

I'm glad some of these are home runs in their final form. Krok looks breathtaking. CarZap looks on point... and will be a neat addition to the G2 shelves along with G2 Screamer. Looking forward to seeing more final samples.

Funny you should say that, as Zap (aka Windbreaker in the US) is considered a G2-original mold ;)

Carzap was to be the Japanese release of the G2 Zap/Windbreaker mold, as part of a line called Block Town. The line features building block sets, similar to Lego sets, with a Transformer: that's what the deco and the included Kre-O set were inspired by. Sadly, the line was never released, but images of what could have been are available online.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

The Lio Convoy was the one I was looking at. Though I suppose I could say the same for the Serpent-OR figure. And while I like the overall aesthetic of Carzap, I am tiring of that mold.
The only Series 3 figure I would consider getting would be Krok. I think he looks awesome!

Giving the different versions of that mold a bit different transformation (ie. doors along the side of the arms like the original G1 toy) helps differentiate them on the shelf. There is also a 3P chest coming for Nightbeat.

Which one, there were two. One was an Earth tank with flopping hip joints and looked like it wasmade out of a shoebox and some paper towel rolls for Arts and Crafts day. The other one was a diecast War Within transforming Megs thatwas a truly awesome faithful sculpt. That whole line suffered from being too heavy for its own good though

I am sure from my phrasing and attitude towards the figure that you can guess I was talking about the first one, the piss poor tank. Its funny about megatron, he has some of the best and worst toys out there, rarely an inbetween.

Yeah, Titanium was so close to being awesome.

I think the G1 toys struck a good balance of metal to plastic, so as not to be too heavy or awkward or top-heavy or floppy. I did LOVE most of the War Within designs in general.

Titaniums were usually really good in one mode, but flawed in the other. Those include Megatron(s), Grimlock, Fallen, Prowl...

Favorites... Scourge, Jetfire, seekers, Prime, Hot Spot (aka Hot Zone) and Ultra Magnus. Rodimus also solid in both modes.

Least Favorites... diaper Soundwave, Cheetor (wish we could have gotten another War Within design instead of this odd-man-out.)

Also was sad to not get the Nemesis spaceship in the small scale line.

BUT I digress.

Getting back on track, really hoping these TFCC bots ship soon. Seeing so much of them is getting me antsy.

This Nacelle toy is a character whose origins are rooted in three separate sources.

First, his name comes from that of a Seeker who was in the Transformers: Exodus novel, in which he was part of a Seeker group with two others named Bitstream and Hotlink.

Second, his deco is based on a prototype for G1 Thrust that was seen in 1980's Takara catalogs prior to Thrust's release:

Image
Image

Thirdly, his character and identity come from the first episode of the G1 cartoon, in which four generic Seekers attacked Wheeljack and Bumblebee en route to Iacon:

Image
Image

One of these Seekers, the golden one, would later be given his own name and identity as Sunstorm years later. And then BotCon 2013 made a set of exclusives based on three of these four Seekers, in which Sunstorm was included and the other two were given the names "Bitstream" and "Hotlink", named after two of the Seekers from Exodus.

With the fourth Seeker way in the background not yet given a toy, and with two of the three Exodus Seekers given G1 counterparts, the Club saw fit to create a figure that would both complete the Exodus-named Seeker trio and complete the four-Seeker "Welcoming Committee" (as Wheeljack called them). But rather than make just another ordinary-looking Seeker, the Club decided to make this one special by modeling its deco after the very pretty proto-Thrust deco, which happened to have a blue Seeker body like that fourth background Seeker.

And, let's face it, the deco of that fourth Seeker as it was wouldn't have nearly been as pretty. Compare (second one from the left):
Image
Image

But, as for the differences in his appearance as this toy from his brief cartoon appearance, his bio refers to him having undergone some cosmetic changes after the Nemesis left Cybertron.
