Love to know how tall this is... and afraid to ask what the price will be... Everything else can be put on the back burner and revealed as they fit... but those two things have me chomping at the bit.

The best guesses right now are that Generations Devastator will be about 18 inches tall and cost $150 USD ($180 CND).

For 150, I'll get one!

My Big Voltron blew that out of the water and I was afraid more along the lines of sold separately at $50+ apiece...

Personally, I'd rather it hit that 24 mark so I could pose him with my Mattel Voltron and/or Giant Godzilla.... but 18 is PRETTY darn sweet.

Their combiner wars poll suggests otherwise.

(sorry, I couldnt resist, I know you dont mean that)

Don't forget Windblade last year

I was actually thinking about the windblade poll when I wrote that comment. I could give you 5 or 6 vauge catagories like gender, faction, alt mode, weapon, etc. But in the end result, it wasnt really the fans who created windblade. They just laid the extremely basic foundation. IDWs own Hasbro contracted artist made all the aesthetic choices and gave us a kabuki geshia Frankenstein monster. So while these fan made character polls may be throwing us fans a bone, they arent a true example of Hasbro listening to the fans. Listening to the fans is when they give us the homages we want, in the decos we want, in the scales we want. Where was the "what size should our new Devastator be" poll ? Fans have been calling for a new Devastator figure for like 10 years and werent asked any input to ensure its success. If they really did a G1 Devastator with a "neo" left foot (no cab foot) half of the potential GEEWUN buyers are going to be like WTF is that ? All that could have been avoided by Hasbro putting out the figure during its design process like 3rd parties do. Let us see renders and grey prototypes. Fans could point out flaws and make suggestions to improve it. Thats why MMC's Feral Rex was such a success. They made plenty of changes based on fan input. Even after the five core figures were completed, Felisaber includes a number of extra parts based on fan feedback. That's what I call "listening to the fans". Hasbro take notes.

Enjoy the movie with your family Ryan. Drink one for me ! ;)

Please, lets not try to blame others for the Disruptiveness in this thread. Because others are not the blame here.

Some tried to nicely explain things to you regarding toyfair rules in a attempt to calm you down. Calling them Pro-Hasbro insults for their efforts is just disrespectful.

None of us really know the “toy fair rules” because none of us were actually there in person. We don’t know if there was a photo ban in the entire building or if the photo rules varied from booth to booth. As someone pointed out earlier, the “leaked” photos appear to show a Hasbro employee wearing a lanyard setting up the display. That means people working at the toy fair took those photos before the show even opened up. For all we know the photos could have been taken by a security guard who is also a TF fan. :-?

On these “official” threads, people love to pull out their bootleg law degrees that they earned from watching every episode of “Suits” on USA. The only thing we know for sure is Hasbro is not happy about the "leak". Whether or not they should be upset is debatable. Where was the "outrage" when a TRU employee took these photos and “leaked” Hasbro’s big reveal ? :-$

Image

There was no outrage. This guy was praised. Nobody advocated he “broke the rules” and spoiled Hasbro’s big reveal. But now the same people are trying to defend Hasbro for hiding the big green bast**d from us.

If you’re going to call someone out T, call out the hypocrites. Don’t call me out for exposing them. I enjoy our “truce” and would like it to stay intact. ;)

Ill honor your request and let it go...

But I will say that the term "beating a dead horse" is often used in a very biased fashion on this site. Why is it always the agressor thats labeled as beating a dead horse ? Many times its really the defenders who are beating the dead horse and the agressor is merely trying to open their minds to a different perspective. Just some food for thought. ;)

Bigggg topic switch now but, was Devastator inspired by the Incredible Hulk? Hulk is very popular in Japan especially with young men. If you look at Devastators original design his waist/hips are a purple color like Hulks iconic Jorts. I know it's a stretch but the similarities are uncanny.

I think any relation between Hulk and Devastator would be a great example of Pareidolia.

The colors? Maybe... but the overall mold design most definitely isn't. In Diaclone he was red, yellow and blue, and I've yet to see Hulks of those colors :)

As for price, guessing it's going to retail for between $150-$170.

Hey Seibertron, you were theorizing about Devy being "Scramble city". Could you elaborate?
Are you thinking we can mix and match and stack the bots however we like? Arm can be leg, torso can be arm....that kinda thing? That would be cool.

At a minimum, I'm hoping that Hook can double as a leg as well as the upper torso/shoulders. That would allow them to do Prowl on top to enable that fictional play pattern. I'm not a big fan of mixing up limbs for Scramble City, but I think it'd be interesting to see Devastator get mixed and matched. I'm also curious if they'll use the same style of combiner ports or if they'll be larger or what. Time will tell!

ive roughly figure out how big he'll be, and X provided a scale reference to generations metroplex ;)

Rated X wrote:I was intrigued by the way Shajaki figured out Devastator’s height was around 18 inches using the MP Prowl box. Nice work. I wanted to see exactly how tall 18 inches really was to see if this figure fits anywhere in my collection. Sadly it doesn’t. This figure is gonna really have to be awesome now for me to buy it. It’s way too big for my coffee table. ;)

Anyways, for the benefit of the collectors who care about scale, here’s my comparison shot. For those who are deeply invested in the classics scale, this picture might help you make a decision. 18 inches is the top of the white tape on the yardstick.

I agree, I want Devastator to be a partial limb swapper, and my money is on the upcoming Prowl being able to combine with them, that way the Geewunner and Prowlestator fans can get their cake and eat it too.

I agree, I want Devastator to be a partial limb swapper, and my money is on the upcoming Prowl being able to combine with them, that way the Geewunner and Prowlestator fans can get their cake and eat it too.
I like it when everybody gets cake! :D
