Good luck bro. Safe journey.
You've got a 78% chance of getting a new sig at this rate.

So, wait, a lack of silver paint on the forehead is keeping you from buying a figure we have been clamoring for forever? Sounds to me like it's not the toy that has issues

Your comment assumed SDCC is our only option which it isnt. What I am saying is that with a Hasbro version available, wooing your audience into buying a more expensive one aint gonna happen when the cheaper version has the more accurate headsculpt and actual paint on it. Are you saying you will buy the SDCC version? You arent and I caught that. So please catch what I am trying to say too instead of putting words in my mouth, I dont care if you were joking.

The Hasbro version is a little shaky backwards since they didn't paint the details aside from the black windows and stacks, but the Takara Tomy version should look pretty good backwards with all the truck details painted in.

No, I noticed that too, I found it really funny; putting the 2 side by side really brought out a lot of weird stuff in the deco. If I get any version, it will be the TT version. I was merely pointing out that stuff like the forehead do keep people from buying something that they've wanted forever.

Its a good thing those people who wanted it forever have a choice in the version they want. A more apt feature to comment on would have been the elbows. How much are the elbows worth to people (including me). We will find out when it's on preorder. I am personally hoping for 175$ US or under at amiami.

Eh... those aren't windows. Those are the vents for the engine that rotates the drum. It's not a second cab.

Takara Tomy is definitely treating it like a second cab.
They even painted the bar between the windows to look like Mixmaster's single cab window.

Personally I would be willing to pay an additional $50 for a PREMIUM paint job, just see TT's Devastator just dripping in painted details, like a Behr store just sneezed on it

Not to dissapoint but he wont be. The SDCC version still has the most paint apps, TT is just trying to be as G1 as possible. There are better paint apps sure, but he isn't drenching in them:

At the very least, the Takara one has more paint apps than the Hasbro retail one.Hellscream9999 wrote:william-james88 wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:I'm guessing it will very well received. I know what he will look like; I was actually hearkening back to the first movie and the "premium" sub-line where everyone got a spiffy new or better paint job. It wouldn't sell well if the general retail version was $200+ just for paint apps, but if they released a pseudo-masterpiece version or a 'premium' version with a lot of painted details, I think it would sell really well to collectors.
As for being 'G1 accurate' that's just a sleazy cop-out to leave most of the figure unpainted. Nostalgia wasn't stopping them from painting additional vents or pipes in silver or black. There's nothing keeping them from applying a little more paint to, say, the hydralics on Scrapper's lower legs, or Devs' thighs. Few G1 fans would decry it for 'not being G1 accurate' if they applied those, or others.
