Menasor is pretty menacing looking, especially with that leg mistransformation that Will is showing. I use that same leg mod. The little flaps hold under the tabs meant to hold the legs in place. It makes him taller and sleeker.Rodimus Prime wrote:I really don't like how Menasor looks, but so far I have seen Motormaster and Blackjack in person at TRU and Target, and I liked both of them. I'm debating buying the Stunticons and displaying them separately. In this CW line, does Blackjack automatically qualify as a Stunticon, much like Powerglide qualifies as an Aerialbot?
Blackjack is a cool figure on his own and there are a few different ways to pop him on Menasor. I prefer the Matt Booker way.
I've tried a few different ways to transform his shoulders. On mine using the default transformation, one shoulder keeps poppng loose. You can basically spin them upside down to get a more classic look. They don't tab in though, but it does move the arms forward.

Just for reference, Hot Spot looks pretty cool wearing the aerial bots.
THANKS for the picture!!
I think you may have just helped me make a decision.
I wasn't a huge fan of any of the Defensor limbs... Especially Rook.
Looks like I'm going to get Superion (sans AB, replaced with Slingshot), and periodically, use those limbs with Hotspot.
By the way, the picture showed up for me. Nice one.
And thanks!!

I actually like that pose quite bit. My main problem with the official combination of Menasor was that his legs (rather, Motormaster's legs) were spread too far, making him look like he's about to crap himself.

I also find it just as stable since the tabs dont fit too well in the recomended position. I actually found this pose naturally when I was first putting him together without looking at the instructions (the only thing I didnt get was how to hide away Motormaster's head, I didnt catch that it was a trap door type mechanism).
In any case, with his legs like this, I find him just as good as Superion, at least in looks.

It could be possible, especially with his current MTMTE role and the fact that we got 3 leader seekers from a Jetfire mold. anything's possible right now. and a Sideswipe would be nice

@Soundwave76: In my opinion, we have not got a bad combiner wars figure yet. Each mold is very cool and works well in any mode you so chose. Now personally, Superion is my favorite looking, mainly due to how his torso comes out, but the Galvatronus version has a much better head. Defensor is the best overall but also the shortest; I believe it would be best to get a guy using the Dead end or Offroad mold for him because the kneepads look so much better on both him and Menasor (covers the torso bots feet). I think Rook is definitely worth it: He may be the best of the protectobots.

Just like tru.ca.... they are now not on the web site. This has happened a lot. They had that new devy on there to (if i knew how to upload the pic in would, always says file to big....). This on/off again product is crazy. Still waiting for cromia and arcee from the last wave of last year! (i know never going to see it). Motormaster was on the site for 12hrs but "no ship to home" or "in store pick-up. The buyer and web people at toys r us Canada are dropping the ball big time!!!!!!!

To be fair, we news'd the TRU listings of the Protectobots, and even for being such a hot commodity they were up for almost a whole day. And they'll be back. The Stunticons went in and out of stock a couple times before steadily being in-stock. Same thing will happen with Wave 3thanos13omega wrote:Just like tru.ca.... they are now not on the web site. Sure thing:

You could also pose him with an open chest like this:

The side ends up being the same:

I really like how intimidating he looks. It's pretty cool how even though he is made up of cars, he really gives off a decepticon vibe. Well done Hasbro.

I still personally like blackjack in there. He doesn't really stick out any farther past the fold open chest area. And I shaved the one peg down to eliminate the "stopper", which allows him to be pushed on farther. Mine stays very secure and does not move at all under no circumstances. And I am not a modifier: I just used a pocket knife!

Hey thanks for the input, D-Max.
I don't want to air my "problem" too much more because I've gone on enough...
And at the same time, earlier today before I left to go to an SKC game, I started looking to order some of the figures online,
and I put the brakes on my new plan... Here's why:
Call me picky. But I am not a fan of Skydive... That headsculpt really bugs me.
And I don't think it's really that far from the G1 sculpt.
But it is enough to where I don't really want to buy him.
I'm willing to get Quickslinger, but I'm not going to get Alpha Bravo.
So I was okay with getting Superion, and now I can't come up with a limb combo that I'm happy with.
And understand, I know that's me being picky.
I may just cave and get Skydive... It's just a slightly annoying thought to purchase something I know I don't really want.
Oh, and mainly because I wasn't going to form Superion once and never separate him again.
As individuals, I always have my collection in bot modes.
But I'm fairly sure I'm past the point of wanting any of the other Protectobots after Hotspot.
This would change if we weren't getting Bruticus.
And as I've mentioned before, I still may get Cyclonus, and maybe Skylinx once we get an idea of how cool he is/isn't.
I may be in the minority (not just because I'm Asian), but I'm not into the CW line
because I want to mix all of these combiner teams and have a mashed together bot.
For anyone who does, that's awesome. There are tons of options for that.
For me, IF I get Superion, I want him to look like the G1 Superion.
I know, I know... I'm particular and picky.
I really appreciate your thoughts...
Oh, one other idea I have is to just buy the characters that I like the look of,
even IF I don't ever really use them to make a combiner. That probably sounds stupid.
But I get buyer's remorse super easy. And I'm not into buying stuff just to have stuff.
Anyway, I'm probably going to pull the trigger on MM and Hotspot from HasbroTS soon, and go from there.
I like Firefly, AirRaid, and First Aid. After that... It's kinda
But thanks again for your help.
Hope you're having a good weekend!

Thanks for sharing all of those pics.
I am slightly envious, and really excited to get Menasor.
I'm not sure how much longer I should wait to find him in my local stores before I just give-in and order online.
I have the other limbs (including Wildrider) waiting, still packaged.
Not only do I really like these G1 characters, we have been waiting a long, long, long time for these guys to get good, improved updates.
Those pictures have my patience for MM extra thin... Thanks again.

It was a real pleasure. And it gave me an opportunity to play with my toys. As you might notice, I changed the configuration around to show you the different options. The one with the open chest has the G1 members only, using both Wildrider and Dead End as legs to give them the knee cap (which hides motormaster's foot) and gives a more organic feel to the combiner rather than seeing exactly where things connect.
As for your post on wanting Superion as G1 as possible, there is an easy way to achieve that. Takara has done the most immaculate job in giving a true G1 superion and the box set featuring the 5 G1 characters was just released last week. It's what I opted for and I should be getting mine in next week. You can get it from BBTS or directly from Japan for cheaper.
Just to show you the difference:

And check out silverbolt, you can tell how much takara went full G1 on his colours, Hasbro totally ignores his chest and shoulders:

Man! discounting club exclusives, assuming victorion and computron are left, that's 6 autobot combiners vs 2 decepticon combiners
I don't care if it isn't from G1, I want more decepticon combiners. As of right now, I have stunticon-galvatronus and superion, but eventually I'll have galvy, bruti vs sups, defen, reign, comps, and vicy. I need more decepticons in my life/collection
I legitimately want that purple-griffin-thing, but I need more limbs for it (and no I won't scramble my autobots and decepticons together, there are some things in this world you just don't do) I wish the super o/p limbs were just additional decepti-limbs for galvatronus, or whomever, not more random autobots nobody really needed
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I think they would get the a lot of mileage from some sweeps for Cyclonus. Hasbro would only have to make the one mould for Scourge and people would probably by four of the same figure to have a combiner.

There is also the fact that Hasbro counts Devastator as a combiner in combiner wars (in the comic representing partly the fiction behind the toyline), so the decepticons might be fewer but they have something BIG on their side.

Will, I've been wondering about your Menasor configuration: how does he have thigh/pelvis joint? I've shown mine off many times (I'll show it once more down there \/ ), but I use MM's knee joints (backwards) as Menasors thigh/pelvis. Outside of that and the official configuration, I don't see how yours would function?

Probably similar to mine, but at the loss of thigh swivels.

I tried the backwards legs and they are more stable and give better articulation, but I didn't like how plain they were.
