One is actually sky dive, which I know is a remold of air raid but still.

Which one? these pics aren't that brilliant, but all 3 of them look like Air Raid to me!

Admittedly Hellbat and Gaihawk probably ought to be out of Skydive so the wings can fold upwards like they do on the G1 version.....

Hellbat is skydive and Gaihawk is air raid. It's kinda hard to see if you look quickly but the wings are definitely different.

So I'm examining Sky Reign's head and comparing it to the Liokaiser art... They're both almost exactly the same, right down to the "collar" they both have (Liokaiser's is yellow), only difference is that Sky Reign is actually the tiger-thing's head, while Liokaiser pulls a Hercules-with-the-Nemean-Lion and replaces the lower jaw with the faceplate and visor. So, either one of three things might happen: there might actually be a piece inside the head that can rotate the lower jaw inside to reveal said faceplate and visor (unlikely, as if this is the case, then we would've seen it in in-hand images already); they'll actually retool that tiny bit to have that faceplate and visor (hopefully likely), or, what I'm dreading will happen; they cheap out and actually just leave it as is.

hmmm as much as I like Liokeiser, I think i'm going to have to go third part on this one. He's such a specialized combiner with a unique a e s t h e t i c he really doesn't fit combiner wars in my opinion.

I know that a LOT of fans at this point are fed up with the number of repaints and retools so far in Combiner Wars, and it's looking like it's not going to stop any time soon. Is anybody like me in hoping that we may still get another few retool/repaints a la the limbs for Optimus Maximus and Sky Reign? It would be so easy just to crank out some new heads and a new accessory or two to make Sideswipe, Bluestreak, Ratchet, and Hoist.

Now you've pointed that out, I can (just) make out the difference. But yeah as you pointed AirRaid and SkyDive are already molds mates, so it's still 3 out of the 10.

I would like a set of decepticon limbs for grand scourge and Galvatronus. Seekers would be preferred for Galvatronus and maybe some random decepticons for scourge like:
exhaust from Wheeljack
Barricade from prowl
A motorcycle decepticon maybe sideways
And flatline from first aid

I'd love that as well, not so much for myself, but for my nephew. It's a great way to get him some "G1" characters at an affordable price. He already adores the CW Optimus Prime, Sunstreaker, Mirage, Prowl, and Irohide I got him a couple of months ago. He can't get enough of transforming them back and forth, combining them into "Megabot Mode," as he calls it, and then back into individual robots. More characters with that same play style I think is just what he needs to fully graduate from Rescue Bots.

You know, in some ways i feel G1 had it right where they would just keep releasing the more popular characters for years. These days, if you dont get it the year it comes out, too bad. I feel Hasbo couuld have done well to have a steady stream of classic seekers on the shelves ala movie bumblebee..

as well as Bumblebee absent from Combiner Wars other G1 characters were missing too!....Grapple(heavy retool of Hot Spot), Hoist, Trailbreaker(Off Road retool/repaint), Cosmos, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, Beachcomber(Swindle retool/repaint), Hound(Swindle repaint/retool), Seaspray, Tracks, Warpath(Brawl retool/repaint, i'm ignoring that crappy Legends version!) + any of the Triple Changers to name but a few

Yeah, I'd MUCH MUCH rather buy a new character repaint than a slightly different version of the same guy. (Bumblebee, Optimus Prime)

They've sometimes slipped in a Thunderclash, or other character under a generic name. I'm cool with that, too. They can call it what they like.

So if they want to put out a line of 8 seekers all under the guise of Starscream, fine here. I'd actually LOVE a set of Seekers to merge with Cyclonus. I'm thinking sticking with the purple and blue scheme would be nice, throwing in that lavender seeker we always saw in early episodes...

Starscream, Thundercracker, Skyward, Nacelle would look great merged.

And if they keep the line going with extras, I'd love Thrust, Dirge, Ramjet, Substorm, Acid Storm.

Same for repaint cars, Hoist, etc. I'd be down for those. I just wish they had a transformation that put a real car hood on the front. Alas.

Now that Liokaiser is pretty much confirmed I'm going to bring up my collectors club tie in theory. I think we'll get the last three breast force members in tfss 5.0. Pete Sinclair said half of the set would be combiner wars and it's something that western fans haven't gotten in the past. So I think we'll get Leozack (aerialbot) Jallguar (swindle) and deathcobra (alpha bravo) as the combiner wars half of the set.

I know it's not ideal but I think it's the only way these guys will get released. Unless Takara does some sort of black magic and makes a new Jallguar and Leozack that combines to form a torso.

Combiner Wars needs a few more molds. I'm feeling Age of Extinction mold reuse and abuse. I really wish they would have figured out a way to do two deluxes for the torso to accommodate the 6 member team combiners, and would have been very happy with the Constructicons getting a 2nd go at a later date along with the Trainbots.

And yet while I'm complaining about that, I'm still waiting on a proper Paradron Medic out of Generations Arcee so Sandstorm can have a lady friend. Go figure.

Hey Will, remember when I was talking about the picture of the leg being Computron and you (more or less) said I was wrong. WELL I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!



Anyway, for my two cents on these figures, GIVE THEM ALL TO ME RIGHT NOW. Computron (or at least what can be seen of him) looks awesome. I really appreciate the remolding on Strafe, as I thought he would be just a repaint with a new head. And I'm glad to finally be getting the UW Groove mold as well. As for Liokaiser, he looks awesome too. Given that he will most likely stay in combined mode, the torso being the Sky Lynx mold doesn't bother me. I'll probably get him instead of Grand Galvatron (I'll get him at some point, though), as he'll most likely be $100 US like the rest of the box sets, as opposed to $160 US. Besides, that puts Sky Reign and Victorion back in this year's budget.

I agree as well. I was always surprised we never got Energon Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Sunstorm (who was fairly popular at that time). An exclusive version of Masterpiece Convoy as a toy accurate version of Ultra Magnus or as a fun homage to the all silver Optimus from "The Return of Optimus Prime". Or that they didn't do Masterpiece Deep Cover at the same time as Clampdown. I'd be very happy with a Combiner Wars Sideswipe out of Sunstreaker (with a new head). And I'd still like a Flywheels out of Blitzwing to go with BotCon Battletrap.
