Good to know. I guess I just associated "Platinums" with them being rare, or extremely popular...I just didn't want Platinum CW Liokaiser to be like UW-06 Grand Galvatron. (cant believe I sold mine...cant believe I sold mine...cant believe I sold mine... )

Do Platinums traditionally go up or down in value though?... The only ones I've ever seen at retail were the Insecticons at K-Mart which were ridiculously overpriced at $80, then the store did its closing thing, and I watched the price keep dropping, eventually they were $32 (at 60% off), and I still didn't think it was worth it, but a friend of mine bought the stores remaining inventory (like 5 or 6 of them). I'm just not into the Insecticons, in fact no platinum release to date has really stood out to me except Trypticon, but with a new titan release coming out next year, I've decided to pass on that as well.

If all signs point to Liokaiser being limited, I will get it ASAP. If all signs point to LioKaiser being produced in mass quantities, then I may wait.

Platinums are not rare in the west (and hell all of asia except japan) for the simple reason that they are distributed everywhere and made in mass quantity. Like all toys though, a platinum set will go down until there is no more and then it will go up in value (for a MISB set). A good example is Platinum Omega Supreme, since there are no more at retail and the asian warehouses are all out, it has gotten pretty expensive. But the other platinums for the most part are still available out there and thus you dont need to resort to a secondary market (meaning fans who bought it and are reselling).

Liokaiser will not be limited in production HOWEVER he will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive and they rarely have sales. They currently carry another platinum which has not gone down in price:

So as you can tell, Liokaiser will just rot there at full price until he is sold out (just like the YOTG toys are).

So your best bet for Liokaiser cheap will be to be on the lookout for e-bay since he will be sold directly from asian sellers there and thats usually the most affordable platinums get.

OK, that's strange, the RID set was definitely reduced in price as recently as last week and had been for about a month, I almost bought it twice. I forget exactly how low, $40-something.

Though, Hasbro has used the name "Destrons" before, in the Power Core Combiners line as Crankase's drones.

Are you sure you weren't seeing a non-Entertainment Earth listing on eBay or Amazon or something from a 3rd party seller? Entertainment Earth has not lowered the price on that set. It's a set I had been watching for a while since I have a "wholesale" account with them.

He's surprisingly better balanced than with the bulkier guys (swindle and brawl) as his legs, and I'm loving the tall shoulder Brawl gives him. It's just another situation I wish Brawl's turret rotated though; could've had a great fusion cannon dealio going on.

I like him that way too, but the hole for brawl's hand port will have breakage issue due to it being too tight.

I really like my Bruticus that way too. The heavier arms means his combiner lean evens out since I put him leaning back and use the arms to pull him forward. Plus, he looks more like a brawler

It was definitely the Entertainment Earth website. I noticed it first when I posted about Groove being available for pre-order there. At the time I was hoping it would still be available when Groove came out so I could get them and something else together to get the free shipping. I ended up deciding not to order Groove so I never followed through. As recent as last week I was checking out Titans Return case assortments on EE to see if the Deluxe wave 1 guys I missed would be in wave 2 revision 1 and the RID set was still on sale.

ok so just for giggles back when G2 Superion & Menasor went on sale for $30, I added my e-mail to the "please inform me if this product comes back in stock" on HTS should they ever come back. Well I did get an e-mail this morning at 3:50am PDT (would have been 6:50 am EDT) for G2 Superion, anyway, of course there is no link to said product, and when I go to HTS, of course there is not even a listing for it. Now maybe this was my bad for not being awake at 4am, and not getting to it for 2+ hours, but I have no idea how many they had, or if so, what the price was. Could have been a technical error, or cruel joke for all I know.

Ever more interesting is that "Destron" is used and not "Destrons". Japanese has no separate form for plural, so "Destron" is both singular and plural, depending on syntax.

Now that we have a closer look at the packaging, we can see that it says (in English) "6 DESTRON Figures", which is grammatically correct for English rather than trying to using the Japanese singular/plural neutrality (which, if it had been the case, would have sounded rather weaboo-ish to me).
