Please don't. I did finally break down and buy from a UK seller because it was the cheapest and I figured if I don't do it now he'll only clime in price. Or I'll have to wait for some variation in a different packaging. Luckily I had some PayPal Money I didn't even know about/forgotten so I figured why not if it's not technically out of pocket.

you gotta do what you gotta do with some Bots and Cosmos is one of those for me.

Well - for my sake, I hope Hasbro repents and does a re-issue, so those of us who aren't willing to pay the Ebay/overseas markup can get this figure.

But on the other hand, that would mean folks like you, who DID pay the scalper prices, would wind up eating the difference. The way it's going, some people are bound to get scroo'd....

Yeah...I think it's the folks expecting a like for like reissue.

But, to me, that's basically screwing yourself. if you want it, do what it takes to get it. I totally get paying retail, but sometimes it ain't gonna happen.

Over in the the Netflix thread I mention how I never got to get a Nemesis Prime because it simply wasn't available to me...and not that anyone is paying attention to what I get or don't get any more than anybody is paying attention to anyone else, there's very little I don't get that I want.

Expecting Hasbro to print you some figure on demand just seems unrealistic to me. I would even contact anyone I see in here complaining about finding him if I found one (since everybody I actually know has one) and send it to them for cost - but there are none to be found - rather than them not get the figure they want to get, because I'm that kind of guy. But I don't get the 'Hasbro make some Cosmos' cuz I didn't get him' stuff. It ain't gonna happen.

Maybe not...then again...

I can recall instances where BOTH have occurred. Wave 5 of TR Deluxe (Twin Twist, Misfire, Windblade)was a total miss at US retail (but ended up in some clearance retailers), Hasbro never did right on that. However Wave 2 of PotP (Sludge, Snarl , Moonracer etc...) Hasbro did actually recognize the shortage in a press release and manufactured more (I guess they believed they had enough demand to fulfill another MOQ). Same goes for all the CC and Titan reissues of the past 3 years.

Now... I know for example the Netflix Soundwave is a sore spot with many who never got one. I'm unsure if Walmart will have the same stranglehold on Cosmos that they do on that (unable to be reissued through other retailers...). But if you can justify the price to import one, go for it. Or, at least as has been mentioned, try to network with fans. You wont be able to get it for the same price as you would in store, but many are willing to ship at cost.

We had three Stunticons in a wave during Combiner Wars. I understand variety and diversity, but then we end up with situations where a number of people will never have a complete Menasor.

And a lot of people still didn't get Menasor in CW because their stores skipped Wave 2 and moved onto wave 3. But its also the factors that Till-all-r1 says above me. Basically, if Hasbro could have done an all Stunticon wave...they would have done it. That they didn't is its own proof. This (outside of a boxset) was the only way to handle them at retail.

No this wasn't the only way, Hasbro could've done better and they didn't. Now you have people looking for Motormasters or Wildriders hoping to see Breakdown sooner than later.

I think they did it the right way.

For one thing, a wave with 4 stunticons, 2 of which are partial toolings of each other, just feels lame.

Also, I like having combiner components spread out. It makes you appreciate the individual members much more. SS Devastator proved that for me.

I wouldn't have minded all of them being in 1 wave.
Would that have lessened the enjoyment factor of the individual figures?
Maybe for some. But some wouldn't have minded either way.

But I don't believe that how it was handled was the only way.
I would've preferred 2 in wave 1, Motormaster with wave 2, and then the last 2 in wave 3.

I know it was at least slightly different for everyone, but I had my two Dragstrips on May 26th, after looking in stores for over two weeks.
Both Motormasters delivered from Target.com on July 30th.
When I lost hope that Amazon would put Wild Rider on sale, I bought one from Target on September 19th, my second copy from Amazon showed up on Sept. 21st.
On January 10th I found Dead End at Target (my second copy will be from TFSource).
Then on January 15th, Amazon delivered my two copies of Breakdown.

Other than these last two being released relatively close together (Dead End seemed really delayed), the others averaged about 2 months apart.
Which is fine, but it's felt like this has taken a really long time to get 5 figures that belong to the same group, especially when forming a combiner.
Again, for me, getting all 5 in about a 6-month span would have been ideal. Believe it or not, yes, that 2 month difference would have mattered. To have had all of these mid-November? Yeah, that would have felt much, much different. And better.

It's very easy when it's not where you're looking. I'd wager the majority of the people checking for Jetfire at Walmart weren't looking with the Hot Wheels. I sure wouldn't have if it wasn't for people reporting finding it there.

You can't compare making more retail figures for multiple retailers to carry to exclusives that only a specific retailer can ask for more of. There's no point in Hasbro making more when Walmart has made it exceedingly clear they don't want them.

Well hey - if you know anyone in the UK (where I hear they have Velocitron Cosmos coming out of their ears) who are willing to sell it at cost+shipping, let me know :).

They can ship it to my minion field stations, if I find the price reasonable... It'd be better than paying 2-3x as much on Ebay, which is practically the ONLY way to get him stateside.

Just found Legacy Evolution Scraphook at the Target in Dumfries, VA. He wasn't in the system yet, and the box isn't in the greatest shape, but thankfully a manager sold it to me for $22.99 :-D

Slag and Sludge have been my deskbots for a week now, and I love them. It's fun to have toys with simple transformations to fiddle with. Sludge is such a weird little guy! I know a lot of people have complained about the compromises for the combined mode, but I think he looks good in his normal modes relative to other Core class figures. The sculpted detail in the hips means he has serviceable thighs in most poses, and there's only so much you can do with the little ones to begin with. I just think they're neat.

Metalhawk and Twincast have listings on BBTS now. No mention of Rewind or any cassette on Twincast's page, but I assume it's because they haven't finalized the pages yet (no mention of accessories either)

Yup, I just noticed that when linking to the rerelease of the retro Headmasters from Walmart. Seems like the next wave of L:E will be part of the TF Tuesday next week.

All New Legacy Evolution Wave 1 Toys have been found at US Retail

Postby william-james88 » Thu Jan 26, 2023 11:31 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
January is almost over and it seems the new toys from the first wave of Transformers Legacy Evolution have all appeared at US retail, and all at Target. While we reported on the voyagers being found a little while ago, the deluxes have recently been found as have the core class figures. There are no new figures in first wave of leaders, with leader Prime Skyquake being released in the second wave. The image below comes from Rob who posted about a sighting in SoCal on the Transformers Toys Facebook group.

In Canada, the first wave of deluxes has been slowly making its way to Gamestop stores and the core class figures were found at Walmart and Gamestop. There are no signs of the voyagers in Canada yet.

I saw just Leo Prime in 2 different Targets yesterday, so apparently every Tarn is selling as soon as he hits the shelf, while Derpy the cross-eyed chimera will be this year's dedicated shelfwarmer.

Still, for me, the most disappointing Lio Convoy toy is the MP, because it didn't come with Artemis as promised; if it had, I'd have bought it. Maybe her exclusion invoked some divine curse that will make all of his subsequent toys letdowns until it's lifted. There's precedent: Ironhide suffered a curse that prevented his ever getting a proper toy for decades, even screwing up his Masterpiece, right?

Maybe he'll end up having crossover appeal with Narnia fans who collected toys from The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe movie, but were disappointed Aslan didn't stick to the books' coloration.

Matter of fact, one Target had 2, the other had 1.

More telling, I didn't see any Earthspark yesterday, which all my local Targets did get a few cases of this month. There are still supply chain issues, but IDR the last time toys for a current TF toon got cleaned out that thoroughly that fast after release, leaving the smattering of last year's Legacy and SS offerings to tell the tale.

Plenty of elbow room for those deluxes, and all the Leo Primes looked ready to stretch out, relax, and enjoy the shelf space as long as possible. I might still get him next sale.

My Targets are getting Earthspark as well, and they are just sitting. Much like Cyberverse before it.

The one thing I thought was crazy was that a few weeks ago, the SS Voyager Ironhide/Galvatron cases were clogging my Target shelves as well. They all finally sold thanks to sales. So I was hoping they'd make room for Legacy Evolution. Nope, they ordered more cases of SS Ironhide and Galvatron :BANG_HEAD:

I think that we as collectors have unrealistic expectations for how toys are expected to move. Target did their reset what, two weeks ago? I don't think that's unrealistic for a case, and case assortments go months between. This also isn't as time-bound as movie products. Heck, Lightyear merch has been sitting on shelves for the better part of a year!

As for Legacy Evolution, didn't someone say they haven't even been coded in Target's system yet? I guess what I'm trying to get to is: be patient, it's still early, we'll see them soon.

That must have been fixed, well sort of, but in a good way. I found Tarn and Leo yesterday at Target (I already have Leo from Amazon). Oddly enough they were both hanging on a peg for Generations Voyager showing $29.99 that was newly put in place. Something else was on that peg last week. Went to the scanner and it also said $29.99, so I immediate bought Tarn and cancelled my Amazon pre-order.

Plenty of elbow room for those deluxes, and all the Leo Primes looked ready to stretch out, relax, and enjoy the shelf space as long as possible. I might still get him next sale.

Haha, so at least one Leo Prime sold. As for Earthspark, the initial batch sold very well too where I am but we did get them before Christmas so it wasn't unusual.

Some Targets still haven't done their reset yet. Some have. I don't see pegs for Legacy Anything at most of them. For me it's not about patience. I'm in no hurry. It's about wanting retailers to do better. I've got everything I want already from Legacy Evolution Wave 1 thanks to Amazon except for Scrapbook. If I see him at retail first, sobe it, and I'll cancel my Amazon pre order. If it ships from Amazon first, oh well, Target loses a sale. As for movie lines like Lightyear and Avatar, those are the biggest wastes of money. I don't expect companies to stop making them, but when even kids don't buy the product and it wastes space until it's clearanced out, you think somebody would catch on.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Some movies' toys are successful, some aren't. Licensors and toymakers are not going to stop pushing new product lines for fear of failure, they're going to keep doing it fl in hope of success. As for retailers, they have much bigger problems to worry about than optimizing their distribution of action figures to steal preorder sales from Amazon. I don't worry about the toy manufacturing, distribution, and sales supply chains since it's all a mess and it doesn't have anything to do with me.

I got my first of the Evolution sub-title last night. I got Hot Shot using a gift card from Christmas plus I needed him for free shipping for my Dad's new phone case.

He isn't bad, he's interesting for sure. I'm uncertain about his alt mode, it feels too chubby width wise and short height wise. And his robot mode is a bit weird too, the elbows feel a bit too high, and he really needed wrists. And his engine gun is a bit annoying with the pair of offset pegs.

But he seems neat. He has a lot of fun little gimmicky things on him like the axel-zooka and goggles.

So he's fun, he's interesting, but he's also a bit weird.

Meanwhile, I'm still seeing nothing but wave 1 of Legacy....
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
