For the leg armour, have it so the beast mode leg halves clamshell around the armour to give it the full beast look, and they seperate and swing round to the back of the leg to reveal the leg armour.

Of course, this will leave a bit of panels on his rear robot mode legs, and might end up giving him beefier beast legs than he should have, but other than leaving it there, I don't see another way to do it.

The funny thing is, I always come up with overly fun and complex designs that would be cost prohibitive. For cheetor, having the torso separate laterally with the head and chest on one piece and the limbs on the other, you on fold it to start the transformation to Beast mode, push the robot head back, turn the beast head around and push up, then slide the part with the heads back into his limb part like a switch blade, have the robot head become part of the cheetah chest, then the limbs are rotated back, and the legs become the forelegs and arms become the hind legs.

Transforming Cheetors lower/hind legs could be done like the CW Arialbots. The thicker part of the thighs could sandwich-hinge down and make his robot calves, flipping or going inside out to hide fur and show robo bits. :-?

I am so excited for this possible mp. I didn't start collecting transformers until Beast Wars. Cheetahs were my favorite animal growing up and part of the reason I became a biologist. I couldn't believe a cheetah was a main cast member on a show. It was always lions and tigers and sometime jaguars or leopards. I actually became interested in transformers from the beast wars toy-line, and then eventually latching onto the show. My favorite characters were/are Cheetor and Waspinator and I have amassed a ridiculously huge Beast Wars collection because of the crazy animals (or combinations of animals) the creators picked.

I am ecstatic for this possible mp. Despite my obvious bias towards this character I think most would agree he hasn't had a great representation since the telemocha version in 2006, and even then that was an incredibly nice paint job on decade old transformer. I can understand the criticism about the character and the fact they are skipping Megatron for now. I am surprised to see Dinobot brought up though. Dinobot, Waspinator, Rattrap, Rhinox and kind of Blackarachnia have all had pretty good figures released relatively recently.

If he actually comes out he will join my Cheetor shrine.

Going up, it does. Going down, not necessarily. Unless you think the kids a few years back would have rather had a G1 Bumblebee than the Prime version that was on TV, or kids in a few months would prefer headmasters without robot bodies over pocket-sized versions of the RiD cast.

Thanks to the Shizuoka Hobby Show, we have our first teaser image of the upcoming Masterpiece Cheetor/Cheetus figure! The image was found by yours truly and it shows off the typical shadowy figure silhouette that we have become used to. A fairly dynamic Cheetah mode can be discerned as can a fairly filled out robot mode with decent limbs and perhaps a bit of a larger torso and shoulder pads. Impossible. No. Has to be fake.
From a pure silhouette standpoint this is looking wonderful. I hope we get to see the prototype soon enough; I don't think there was much between Inferno's silhouette and prototype being shown, was there? Like a month or something?

What's interesting to me is that Cheetor and Inferno are being revealed roundabout the same time. Is it possible that the Beast Wars masterpieces are then being worked on alongside the G1 guys rather than instead; much like how Star Saber was developed?

Not sure if that was the best angle for the cat silhouette, it makes his head look huge. Should be interesting to see how they turn his skinny back legs into something substantial for robot mode.

Unfortunately, these silhouettes look to be from stock photography of Cheetor's CG cartoon model. The beast mode one especially resembles the shape of the art seen on the Telemocha toy's packaging:

At first when I saw the silhouette of the beast mode I didn't see it as a turned head but a GIANT head. Like one of those Big Head mode cheats you used to see in games.

At least it's tentatively considering the BW releases as separate from the main line, as the "X" (pronounced "cross") in "BW 20 X Transformers Masterpiece" usually denotes Crossovers.

That twisted derpy looking bot mode silhouette leaves much to be desired. Not like i cared much for Cheetor anyways.

I will say though that i very much appreciate the Beast Era MP possibilities and am definitely excited to see how the MP Beast era figures play out if they carry on further with that aesthetic.
I'll even pick up one or two if they are done proper and produce designs and characters i like.

Everyone's saying that Dinobot or Megatron might be next; but honestly... I'm thinking Lio Convoy could be a very real possibility.

Also, I think that silhouette is taken straight from the show. I mean, the beast mode is clearly taken from packaging art, so it'd be weird to have a silhouette of the toy in one mode and a silhouette of art of the toy in another.

So cheetor is next up? Got to say I'm a little surprised as I assumed it would be megatron next but this is still good news. Plus we can expect them to redco this one as tigertron. I just wonder how long they will make us wait before we see real pics.
