I suspect that during the film's delay they made a few changes to the movie that figures and merch were too far into production to alter like the battle mask and VW Bee's big wing doors. Even the MP and Sideshow's statue had the big wings as well early movie posters at promotional art. Changes definitely happened at some point. Maybe he was supposed to have the mask on Cybertron originally but they decided the mask plus the new name was too much for is first appearance so the mask got dropped in favor of him using it later in his Jeep body and Hasbro is using outdated reference material?

Yeah, the VW Bee being based on early designs I can understand, given how close to the film's release those VW Bee toys came out. But this? This is coming out so far after the film's release, having been used twice before already for the Jeep Bee and Cliffjumper toys. No way was this B-127 mold "too far into production" three years ago; more like it was first developed well after the film and they just gave it the battle mask just to distinguish it more from other BB movie Bee toys in the line.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Maybe there's some concept art of B-127 in his Cybertronian body out there somewhere that shows him wearing the mask or says that he has the ability to wear his mask.

Could be, but it feels beyond amateurish if that's the reason for inaccuracy on a toy released 2 years later.

Once I get this behemoth, I'll be busy for a loooooong while.

Great choice! I am still debating myself if I want to get SS69. The main thing holding me off is that I already have 2 of each constructicon (3 of a few) and also that I really only want the mixmaster and box from the SS69. The upgrade kit is also fantastic and really helps to finish him off. He is probably my favorite TF figure in my entire collection. (sorry for the bad picture, the window behind him is messing it up)

OR, in the tradition of both leader Dinobots coming with a bonus non-transforming figure, will they throw in an entire second Starscream? Specifically, a charcoal-colored-crumbling-to-ash Starscream that can also wear the crown?!?
Hey, we've already gotten a ton of coronation Starscreams, so the SS'86er has to do something extra to stand out.
And suddenly, missing the TR version hurts a lot less.Razorbeast88 wrote:PERCEPTOR yess!!!

Also makes me think we won't have to wait too much longer for an SS'86 Blitzwing with a full Come-on-down-Autobrat caliber cannon!
LinaNui wrote:I really did not think that a wave could be so boring. I'll get the preceptor so that I can replace the RTS one on my wreckers shelf, but the rest I really do not care for at all. But I will probably still get them only for collection sakes. Hopefully we get some Bayverse figures revealed/leaked soon, I need a leader class The Fallen! All this G1 pandering is driving me crazy.
Emerje wrote:Half the figures listed are for the Bumblebee movie, not G1, unless you're against those, too.
