Aw, no Bonecrusher? Gotta at least complete the movie 1 guys!

I go back and forth on this, because I really wanted to complete the heroes and villains from at least the first three movies, but I didn't want rebuy all the characters I already had from the original movie lines, so scales are all over the place (almost everything from DotM onward is WAY smaller than the first two movie toylines, including SS). If I could start from scratch, I'd probably go all SS, but at this point that would mean selling a LOT of old figures, many of which I love, so that's just not feasible.

This was originally how I felt, I was only going to buy Blackout and Lockdown and maybe a few others if they didn't have a decent figure. However, I caved in and ended up swapping all of my old figures for the new ones and selling on my old ones, aside from a couple such as the human alliance guys. I think it was worth it because the SS figures just all look so damn good together!

They really do. Your lineup looks fantastic. I just don't have the time to do that kind of revamp of my collection. I basically settled on using a bunch of leader figures from the first three movie lines, since those mostly held up well, then using as many deluxes and voyagers from those lines that work at that scale, and only grabbing SS figures to fill the holes or if they were a major improvement on the original (leader Blackout, voyager Bonecrusher, etc.). Mostly works.

Same about not getting the hate. I have Cliffjumper and aside from the hea swivel, I don't really see problems.
On the other hand I've also been playing around with Buzzworthy SS74 Bee which I thought received glowing reviews, but I found his panels to be very annoying.

Also same, I have the earlier mold that this one is based on and I didn't find it special. It just felt to me like the millionth rendition of that familiar transformations scheme they've been using for Bumblebees since the second TLK one. I guess that's why I liked Jeep Bee so much, it felt different.

At least for me, the Cliff/Bee mold has so much stuff on the legs that don't work/look good, and the backpack could compress a lot better. They should have tried a new mold instead of a retool.

SS74 doesn't transform remotely the same as the previous Bees in the line or TLK Bee. He is somehow an entirely fresh mold and they managed to make it pretty dang accurate to the original movie.

So today I knocked the retail SS needs down to 3 with this guy coming in from HTS Ebay

The minority?! The dreads were fantastic, I love their entire part of the movie. My brother and I would always quote Ironhide's line "Class dismissed" from the Mexican standoff scene. I always love robots that don't really use the standard upright humanoid shape so these guys are just great for me. I just hope that we get a hatchet sometime soon. I know he has been in rumors but when there is really only a handful of bots left, all guys are basically "rumored" now lol.

I've even heard movie fans go "I hate the dreads", it's strange. I really liked them and the concept that the team unifier is the hairstyle, which includes a mad dog.

Hatchet needs to happen, we need him at long last.

Also, I'm thinking of using the SS Crankcase as Dreadbot in TLK since he has the different coloring, but we do need a proper Crankcase so I can use Berserker as himself instead of Crankcase, and a proper Dreadbot with rusty bus alt mode. I will use the Dreads as movieverse army builders.

And I too love the "Class dismissed" line. We need a DotM Ironhide with new cannons

Honestly, I don't understand "hating" the Dreads. Like, personally I'm "meh" on them, because they didn't really do anything good or bad (in the context of scenes). I do love Crankcase's Predator inspired design, but that's about as far into them as I ventured (he said, knowing full well that if a new accurate Hatchet was released and was good he'd probably buy 3  )

Do people even give any reasons for them to be hated? It's kinda baffling that anyone could find some reason to hate the Dreads when they're such non-entities not really worth hating for any reason.

It's like if somebody hated Stormtroopers in Star Wars.

As toys, the only thing I don't like about the SS dreads are the actual dreads. I store mine in vehicle mode when they aren't on display and the rubbery material likes to stay all bent up from being crammed inside the vehicle panels. But despite this, I do find them fun wit their spikey drumsticks.

In my headcannon, after a battle, they gather up the corpses and play them like drum sets, like some kind of horribly evil Blue Man Group.

The dreads are pretty cool! While SS Crankcase doesn't look much like Crankcase in terms of sculpt, I think I do like the darker color scheme as compared to Crowbar.

We really need a Hatchet in SS - I'm really surprised we haven't seen one yet, considering how early in the line Crowbar was. Speaking of Hatchet, what do you all think of him including Dino's hooks since Hatchet doesn't have any other accessories I could think to include?

Just to briefly comment on B-127, I think its alright but those leg panels are definitely the biggest downside, both in not plugging in and also how far inward the leg kibble pokes out. I moved some of the panels around which looks a little less clean, but they're more stable now and don't stick out as much.

I don't have any movie figures, but that is a sweet line-up.
I would want Bonecrusher in there, but it's really solid either way.

At some point I may have to go back and get some movie Megatrons...
I like pretty much all of his designs!!
I've been very tempted by the 3D ride version.

Also, I think the dreads are very cool... I don't quite understand how anyone could hate them.

I don't think it's necessarily the Dreads people don't like, but that the Berserker toy was shelf warming pretty badly in late 2017 into 2018. And then Crowbar came out while he was still on the shelves and then that same year Crankcase was released leading to a lot of the same-ish mold on shelf for over a year, sometimes at the same time.

I like them, though I still need Berserker and am still hoping for Hatchet in the near future.

Dunno if it would be called blasphemy, but even though a movie accurate Hatchet would be cool, the DOTM Cyberverse original was so stellar, I wish for a Leader Class Hatchet that would transform into that big bad-ass jet.

Certainly not, if anything that figure spoiled us by coming up with something better than the movie gave us. If you replaced Hatchet with Berserker you still get three SUVs, but throw in a Voyager or Leader jet Hatchet and now they've got air support making them all the more deadly.

Finished painting ROTF Soundwave! Based it off of his look in the DOTM video game while he's still in orbit.

I actually really like this figure - Satellite mode is definitely lacking (which is a shame since that's the mode we see in the movie), but it's not all that bad and robot mode is surprisingly good.

The amount of upgrade kits I have been getting is starting to get kind of ridiculous. I got the DNA SS Grimlock kit, YYW DotM Soundwave kit, and DIY SS86 kit (more about him in the SS86 thread). All these are really good and fun. I love that Soundwave has his guns now and I can finally reenact the "No prisoners, only trophies" scene.

I got them from there. I have placed many orders from this seller and have had nothing but good things, so it is highly recommended.
