Aw, no Bonecrusher? Gotta at least complete the movie 1 guys!
I go back and forth on this, because I really wanted to complete the heroes and villains from at least the first three movies, but I didn't want rebuy all the characters I already had from the original movie lines, so scales are all over the place (almost everything from DotM onward is WAY smaller than the first two movie toylines, including SS). If I could start from scratch, I'd probably go all SS, but at this point that would mean selling a LOT of old figures, many of which I love, so that's just not feasible.
LeAwesome1 wrote:This was originally how I felt, I was only going to buy Blackout and Lockdown and maybe a few others if they didn't have a decent figure. However, I caved in and ended up swapping all of my old figures for the new ones and selling on my old ones, aside from a couple such as the human alliance guys. I think it was worth it because the SS figures just all look so damn good together!

Same about not getting the hate. I have Cliffjumper and aside from the hea swivel, I don't really see problems. On the other hand I've also been playing around with Buzzworthy SS74 Bee which I thought received glowing reviews, but I found his panels to be very annoying.
Also same, I have the earlier mold that this one is based on and I didn't find it special. It just felt to me like the millionth rendition of that familiar transformations scheme they've been using for Bumblebees since the second TLK one. I guess that's why I liked Jeep Bee so much, it felt different.

The minority?! The dreads were fantastic, I love their entire part of the movie. My brother and I would always quote Ironhide's line "Class dismissed" from the Mexican standoff scene. I always love robots that don't really use the standard upright humanoid shape so these guys are just great for me. I just hope that we get a hatchet sometime soon. I know he has been in rumors but when there is really only a handful of bots left, all guys are basically "rumored" now lol.

Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

At least for me, the Cliff/Bee mold has so much stuff on the legs that don't work/look good, and the backpack could compress a lot better. They should have tried a new mold instead of a retool.
SS74 doesn't transform remotely the same as the previous Bees in the line or TLK Bee. He is somehow an entirely fresh mold and they managed to make it pretty dang accurate to the original movie.
So today I knocked the retail SS needs down to 3 with this guy coming in from HTS Ebay
I know I'm in a minority, but I love the dreads. Great movie designs, I like them

Sabrblade wrote:Do people even give any reasons for them to be hated? It's kinda baffling that anyone could find some reason to hate the Dreads when they're such non-entities not really worth hating for any reason.

Dunno if it would be called blasphemy, but even though a movie accurate Hatchet would be cool, the DOTM Cyberverse original was so stellar, I wish for a Leader Class Hatchet that would transform into that big bad-ass jet.

But that paintjob is certainly bad-ass!

Thank you both very much! I had a lot of fun painting this one.
I just got started on 3D printing, at some point in the future when I'm proficient with it I'd like to make a Satellite for him to plug into.

LinaNui wrote:The amount of upgrade kits I have been getting is starting to get kind of ridiculous. I got the DNA SS Grimlock kit, YYW DotM Soundwave kit, and DIY SS86 kit (more about him in the SS86 thread). All these are really good and fun. I love that Soundwave has his guns now and I can finally reenact the "No prisoners, only trophies" scene.
EvasionModeBumblebee wrote:Very cool! Where did you get the Soundwave kit? I'd really like to get one.

I got them from there. I have placed many orders from this seller and have had nothing but good things, so it is highly recommended.
