When you say, fix up the head, kurona, what do you mean? Takara have only retooled the face plates thus far, so is that what you mean?
Though it will be fun to see what takara plan to do with Alpha Trion

Your missing out on some great innovative designs and Transformations.
Transformations perhaps. Designs, no. I haven't seen many at all in the RiD I even like the look of in either modes. Generally far too simplistic, overly stylized cartoony stuff that doesn't really work for me and some very dorky looking robots (and oh god, the heads... especially Sideswipe, what the hell is that? and I really dislike all those lil round minicons. Not my thing at all). If you like them then great but that line hasn't done anything to earn my money so far.
Titans Return on the other hand has got me pre-ordering Takara's versions of Blurr and Scourge many months in advance of their release already. As I said before, I generally prefer complex movie stuff but yeah Titans have got some fantastic renditions of childhood G1 faves.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!

As in like, look above for the example of how much better Takara made Scourge's head by repainting the visible arms into looking like an actual visual detail of their head rather than robot mode headmaster kibble. Astrotrain has a pretty severe case of robot mode headmaster kibble going on with his head and I'd like to see if Takara can fix it up.

They are very cartoony yes, similar to the style of animated. But they arent simplistic, well not many of them. Quite a few are more complex than the CW deluxes and TR. They have a similar complexity to the generatons figures of a few years ago.
As for the debate over Astrotrain's head, its my favourite of all the Hasbro TR toys. Some, like Blurr and especially Scourge, have the same plastic colour all around so the head looks huge. But with Astrotrain, the legs are purple and create a perfect contrast so we can see his domed face/head.

I'm guessing that is a different strokes for different folks kinda thing. Not everyone is going to like a line and there's many different things people look for in a line.

A lot of the figures in TR look like lesser quality Masterpieces. Especially the deluxes. While I DO NOT like how Leader Blaster, Soundwave, and PM OP look, I like a lot of the other figures. I hope they'll release more leaders in the future that I actually do like.

The same amount or maybe a little more but applied differently, as usual. There's more discussion of the Takara versions in the Legends thread, since that's the banner Takara's releasing them under.
Takara's head-unit had a good chunk of paint on him, unless Botcon was just proto-types the heads looked pretty bland in robot mode (albeit they're so tiny it may not matter).
Is it confirmed they're smaller than the old power masters?
I saw the Titan Masters in person at BotCon. I can confirm that they are definitely smaller than the old Powermasters.

Your missing out on some great innovative designs and Transformations. Check out Fracture when you have a chance, or Drift. Without joking, the better transformations are happening in the RID line than the CW line, although I know you dont care much for CW either so that might not be high praise.Kurona wrote:Noideaforaname wrote:I wouldn't call big ol' block heads with limbs hanging out of the back "easy to ignore".

You beat me to it Kurona! When I saw the initial post, I just though "well Takara is making this really easy to ignore for those that want to".StarFireMk4 wrote:

Welcome to the conversation! I hope you have a good time here on Seibertron!ZeroWolf wrote:I see we're back to this argument again. Changing characters into headmasters is only a big deal if you let it be one. For me, it's no bother folding these into my head canon. If you didn't like the look of them on basis of decos etc; then that's fair enough but to argue something as silly as this, it seems pointless.Wolfman Jake wrote:I too was not keen on the traditionally "non-Headmaster" characters from G1 getting this new "Titammaster" gimmick for this line. I was going to pass on all such updateds, especially since we already have Classics versions of them, but DAMNIT, they look so GOOD (especially the Takara versions in most cases). That alone has softened me on the "Headmaster problem," but it made me realize that the whole issues really is just in the head, so to speak.
Awesome stuff follows, just go read the whole post
Great points from the wolf pack. And yeah, I dont get the fuss either. Since when do people expect perfect G1 renditions of these characters in the Generations Classics line? We never even got an actual Voyager Optimus Prime that looks exactly like his G1 self, so why would Blurr get something like that? He's already closer than ever compared to the previous one we got who's alt mode looked nothing like him (did anyone make a fuss then?). We already have a whole line dedicated to giving perfect interpretations of G1 toys, no need for 2. Especially when the generations line is sold to kids who just want to have fun. The classics was always about new takes on characters and concepts, no reason to change that now.SpikeyTigertron wrote:

Yes, there is, check out this pic:
So there it is! That was rather subtle... Wonder why they didn't open it up all the way. Maybe it's less interesting inside?

I think it's really lazy personally. Either they should've retooled the legs to transform differently, or at least kept with the original transformation. Like this, he just looks like he passed out after being drunk and losing his head with his legs spread out in a highly awkward position for kids to be putting small toys all over.

You're an adult (I presume). You should be able to take better care of your toys now, lol! If you're playing with your Titanmasters, just make sure you put them back in the same place, or at least put them inside the little cockpits built into the Deluxe, Voyager, and (I think) some of the Legends sized figures in the line like Wheelie.

Sometime, a figure can fall down from the shelf for some random reasons. And sometime, a detachable part just pop off ans fly somehwere, NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN.

And what does Metroplex look like then? Less awkward? They retooled him enough that he looks different. The inside of the legs are probably similar to Metro's, but it isn't supposed to be a highlighting feature. Plus he has much more torso and his torso is more involved. Plus, the ramps help hide his hands better. Overall, so far he looks like an improvement over Metro and he has the cool double headmaster gimmick. Lazy to me doesn't seem to fit the guy.

I think I'll stick with the ROTF Voyager Mindwipe. That figure is just awesome. But this Titans Return remake? Looks like they phoned it in. While Fort Max is impressively large, I'm just seeing too much of Metroplex in it.

I found the photo that shows how you can have a Predaking thats the perfect size with your Combiner Wars toys:

Also, G1 predaking scales perfectly with G1 Skylynx as well.

Also, G1 predaking scales perfectly with G1 Skylynx as well.
I wonder where you found it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Also, Even tough G1 Predaking DO scale well with CW, it do look WAY beefier. Even with a torso the same size as the limbs.
I love it.
Also, the upgraded Energon combiners don't look so bad beside a CW, even though it's smaller.
