The flip panel we're talking is this :



There's a panel added to the normal CW connector, which apparently can flip down.

It's obviously where the HFG (yeah, I learned a new acronym) will attach :



But some people apparently still want to believe the robot's head will hide inside this panel in order to allow titan/prime master to connect and replace the normal head.

(probably the same people who still thinks the Prime masters will unlock things on the voyagers).

I guess they just refuse to accept the reality about the fact Prime Master gimmmick coming after Titan returns is just completely lame.

Yep. Its a Powermaster.

I dunno. At least with this I can put the Titans in the cockpit and leave them, or better yet in a baggie in my "Lost Parts" collection. As much gun as havi g the drivers was, I never used them as figures. I had to do something with them cause I couldnt lose the head, but

Powermasters partners were required to unlock the transformation of the robot, they were not only decorative.

Prime masters are just energon chips, nothing more.

John Warden told us that they actually unlock toy mechanics and that what they unlock isnt just up to kids' imagination.

They seem to all be repacked in one way or another so whether you see more of one or more of another, everyone should get what they want in the end.

All a Titanmaster need to fit is a rectangular hole in the neck joints that is exposed when the head is pushed back.

As for the idea of attachment I was just as curious about the folding joint in question on the 'former' Powermasters jet modes.... It looked to me like the connection for jet mode is there - and so conversly it would also be there for the robot mode and for a titanmaster too as well as a Primemaster.

That Primemasters are moulded in a way to look somewhat like an atypical face also does give them total backwards compatibility and one can imagine a play pattern where one was feeding all the Primes to Trypticon.

I won't argue to much that they functionally are less than a Cyberplanet Key - but they are more than an Energon Chip - Chips don't drive. (well the Human Character Chip Chase might - but that is a different Chip).

As for the unlock I think they are referring to the pretender shells weapon /hand modes.

Which is the other play pattern we have that reaches backwards the POTP accessories can still be used with CW combiners as alternative limb pieces or hand held weapons - or plugged in to decorate a base mode.

Since the weapon modes are 5mm compatible there is nothing to stop you putting a Primemaster in his cradle and then mounting it on top of say Skullsmasher's croc mode tail too.

It may be a bit of an after thought gimmick but I still think there is fun in it. - especially if you are like me an enjoy the Titanmasters as figures in their own right.

Opposite here. I don't care about Octone, personally, I'm fine with the older CHUG, but I'd intended to get Optimus and Blitzwing. So of course, ll I've ever seen is a single Megatron.

Just got him and my vote for best TR deluxe of the year go to Missfire. Perfect all over. It's so beautiful, it's like a premium Takara product!

Ok, so I got the seige of Cybertron set and while I am happy to have gotten a Botcon styled set for 100 bucks, I must admit I do find the Chaos set better. Here is a rundown of my favourites in this set from best to worst:


Tidalwave: Yeah, did not see that one coming. Believe it or not I actually really love the mold. It pus the Robot back into Transforming Robot. Several designs have gone more the action figure route but this mold is really solid looking and beefy, like my idea of a robot. I also love the look of it in general and the robot mode and carrier mode are as solid as any other 2 modes on any bot, even surpassing several. So if its third mode isnt great I feel it is no loss. especially on Tidal Wave who couldnt care less to turn into a jet. The deco is really top notch, something very extensive that I havent seen since Grand Galvatron. The stickers are a bt odd but well placed. Its more the reflectiveness I find odd. But not in a bad way. Its just more detail. And the headsculpt is magnificent.

Metalhawk: this thing is gawdy as all hell and I am not sure if the colours work. The painted colours look better than the molded colours, thats for sure. But its a nice headsculpt on a good mold and it looks like the character. Its well served here. I just wish it looked more gold than shiny tan.

Magnus Prime: Yeah I preffer the Hasbro version of PMOP. At first I thought this guy was great since I was turning him into a truck and I liked the new parts of the transformation and how neat the new feet stored away. But then I played with him a bit, tried to pose him and gear Lord does he suck at standing. The legs have areal trouble staying solidly pegged in. Hasbro had a nice lock in place which is replaced by a weak tab on this takara toy. Plus I dont see how the feet/toes peg anywhere at the top. I never liked these feet and they look as bad as ever but I didnt know that these would greatly affect the stability of the figure. This is an odd design all around and at this point the only thing I am happy about in terms of owning him (at least until his buddy gets here) is that I didnt pay as much as others did for him (which is never a good reason to like a toy). Great colours though. I forget if the blue is as nice on the Hasbro version but damn thats a nice blue.

Thunderwing: its a good loking head. Not much more to say.

Pounce: You know, with these being the key figures in these sets you would think Hasbro would try harder. But no, this is easily the worst figure in the set and the cheapest feeling figure in all Titans Return so far. It is simpler than other Legends class figures, underpainted (have you seen the face?!) and lacks in good articulation. The beast mode doesnt have the legs articulated at various points and the mouth doesnt open (unlike in the damn cover of the box). Very dissapointed with this fgure.

So yeah, I think Tidal Wave rocks and I hope God Bomber can save my feelings for Magnus Prime. Makes me feel better about owning PMOP.

Hm.. The weak tabs might be a QC issue or mold wear. I've heard about people having stability issues with the ankle rockers, but this is the first time I've heard of the trailer side panels not tabbing firmly into place for robot mode.

Plus, it actually would be extra money spent since (parts of) Titan Masters are gang-molded with (parts of) whoever they come with, in this case Skytread with his drone and Megatron/Blitzwing with Doomshot/Hazard. In other words, they can not be freely switched out at the same expense. TakaraTomy and FunPub may be willing to go that route, but not Hasbro.

Yeah, Hasbro are very rigid about their pricepoints and box sizes and they have been for a loooong time (this is why Piranacon's boxset didn't include Nautilator. I'm pretty sure). They're so stiff-necked about it that figures will even be retooled to make them fit in the designated box size.

Guess I'll skip that boxset, even on sale.

The local Target never got Prime or Megatron that I saw, if they did they sold out fast. I have my pick of Broadside there right now, though.
The local Walmarts only got a few cases of Prime and Megatron, but they sold quick in early June and haven't restocked Voyagers at all since. Broadside was stocked once at the same time. I already got my Prime and Megatron at Walmart, but I welcome another release because I want to get my hands on another Prime for the ToyHax Actionmaster add-on set.

Good to know my feelings on "Magnus Prime" are confirmed. Which is a shame, because after reading Marvel I really like the Powermaster look for Optimus; but I'll deal. Hopefully I can find Tidal Wave for a decent price.

I am waiting for UPS to drop my Pile of Loot, but I will admit, when I think of Metalhawk he is a metallic yellow. Why Hasbro went with this brinze gold is beyond me. even a brighter , more brilliant color like the Goldfire Bee woulda helped I think, or better yet a more yellow gold still

I think they were trying to go for a truly gold color but at the same time were paranoid about him ending up like oh, say, the guy in my avatar so we wound up with a somewhat lackluster compromise.

Man, I'd love to get a Tidalwave...

Just recived a Titans Return Optimus Prime and Titan Master Diac!! It's amazing, although the trailer isn't a cuboid. But it's still great. Titan Master Diac is pretty cool, and quite hard to take off. Bit annoyed that they aren't in the leader class though.

I am glad you like him. I think hes one of the underrated figures i the line. He looks really good and has a fun transformation. Just the right amount of panelforming and steps for a satisfying transformation.

Seibertronian Impulse has let us know that Transformers Titans Return Blitzwing has been listed on Hasbro Toy Shop! While he's not available yet, the placeholder listing, featuring stock photography and description, is currently active. The voyager class figure will go for $24.99 USD, a small bit less than what some brick and mortar stores are pricing him at. It's unknown at this time of Blitzwing is listed on any other international versions of Hasbro Toy Shop.
