Sabrblade wrote:Tell that to Hasbro (again), since the current team doesn't seem to care about that anniversary (only TFTM's 30th anniversary is getting any attention from them, leaving it to only Takara and Fun Pub to care about Beast Wars this year).TK415 wrote:This could happen. Ah yes, a Beast Machines mold released in the RiD 2001 line painted up in G1 colors w/ a Peter Cullen impersonator sound gimmick. Totally counts as "caring about [the Beast Wars] anniversary".Kurona wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Tell that to Hasbro (again), since the current team doesn't seem to care about that anniversary (only TFTM's 30th anniversary is getting any attention from them, leaving it to only Takara and Fun Pub to care about Beast Wars this year).TK415 wrote:This could happen. Ah, but you're forgetting about the best toy everybody super-duper loves.

Just curious, is there a precedent for making a toy of a comic only character that is no longer in the comics? Scrounge I guess, but he wasnt released on his own and was just a redeco with a new head and an enlarged hole.
However, him being a pretender turned into a figure with a titan master means that the next phase wont be a redo of pretenders.
Emerje wrote:I think Hasbro (and therefore, we) gets too hooked up on who's around for cross promoting. What's wrong with just making awesome looking robot toys? Hasbro used to do this all the time ranging from the late stages of G1 all the way through AEC. Then somewhere around Animated they got fixated on only doing characters they could cram onto a cartoon or comic. Just think of all the great Beast Wars figures we would have missed out on if all they cared about were the ones they could fit on the show! They still do this for the movie lines with completely unknown characters as the recent top list pointed out, why should Generations be any different?

Real reason is probably because 1. They have 2 currents lines at the moment RID and Titans Return. thkse two have been in the planning for about a year and half before release. And 2. We just got over the past years a me Rhinox, Rattrap, and Waspinator and before that a couple others. Beast wars wars toys don't really need redone. They still hold up. I just got Transmetal Tarantulaus a few months ago due to sins of the wreckers and he's with my misc CHUG shelf. Anything transmetal and after still holds up and they've remade the characters that had kinda cruddy looking figures.

Randomhero wrote:I think all four of those still represent the characters just fine. Especially tigatron he still represents the character decently.
Maybe it's just me but I don't just start demanding the next thing. I'm fine with what we get. Overlord and Black Shadow are "revealed" and people are already saying "I want star saber" I don't mean to sound mean and insensitive but it just reminds me of little kids "I want this I want that!" And a parent finally snaps and says "you're not getting anything now" like what would that be like if Hasbro just said "look if you're not happy with what you're getting than were just not going to make this stuff. You get movie toys and RID and that's it" lol I think all the transformer sites would break that day due to the rage.

Because Hasbro is a cruel mistress.![]()
I am anxious too. I hope he isn't leaked before he's officially revealed though. It would be cool to see Overlord for the first time in an official display.
I think it would be neat if we got both of his Powermaster dudes as Titanmasters and one could be a stern, neutral classic headsculpt and the other could be deliciously MTMTE.

What non-G1 stuff has the current brand team given us in Generations? Armada Megatron and...?Decepticon Stryker wrote:I have a very scary though that hopefully won't come true, but in this rather G1 centered line and the lack of anything Beast Wars related coming from Hasbro, who from what I've been hearing is currently being run by G1 enthusiasts (they've given us a few non G1 so they're not completely Geewunners)

The Thrilling 30 stuff like Waspinator, Rhinox, Rattrap, Sky-Byte, and Armada Starscream were from the previous brand team.

Well the G2 combiners technically count not to mention the rumored Tidal Wave, Liokaiser, and I'm pretty sure at least one more.
