Also I still don't see why people are saying wolf when the ears are nothing like those of a wolf...though we perhaps will get a wolf in this line through a decepticon head master...

The ears? Really? You should look up pictures of lions and wolfs >:oP
The snout screams wolf all over it. And if you compare to Thundertron, he looks like a cross between a wolf and a lion.

Plus it's a robotic animal alt mode I don't think their trying to be 100% accurate to a wolf I mean the snout is a dead ringer to a wolf's.

Pretty much.

Without images, the information we can report is limited to second-hand accounts, rumours, speculation, and should not be taken as news itself (which is why we did not news that information). Whatever comes out of Toy Fair or earlier reveals, we will deal with accordingly - until then, I'm afraid we all know as much as you do.

....or do we?

(We do.)

(Maybe.)

I just don't like Transformers that turn into an actual organic creature

This is pretty much my thinking when it comes to the whole beast wars thing. I grew up around the same time it came out so nostalgia has nothing on me. It just doesn't make sense for non organic humanoid robots to transform into organic beings. Plus I thought the animation of the show was abysmal so I could never get into watching it. >:oP

But on the wolf versus lion debate, it's definitely not one or the other it's an amalgamation of the two. The ears are way too short to be a wolf, however the snout is a touch too long to be a loin. Plus it doesn't help that it has a weak ass mane.

But still definitely looks awesome and I shall be buying him and most likely whoever else shares his mold.

See I never had a problem with them turning into animals since I'm sure the show made it clear that it was an organic shell that coated their beast form, hence why it was reversed on the transmetals. The only ones that I think turned into actual biological beings was the maximals in beast machines. I could be wrong on this as it's been a while since I saw either show. Best to ask sabrblade for 100% clarification.

Now on the matter of wolf lion (wolfion? Liolf? Wolion?) I still think they were going for a lion, to ensure the molds reuse (takara could of asked for it so they could turn it into lio convoy)

You are correct on all of the above, though the Beast Machines Maximals were a hybrid of biological and technological equally melded together.

And later TF series like TF: Prime would establish the TFs as organisms with a mechanical biology of organs whose base element is silicon rather than carbon.

Thanks for the backup sabrblade :-), about Prime, isn't that the way they described them in the movies? Or at least a similar way?

Also stu, this isn't the place to open that can of worms but fundamentally Silly springer is right

Maybe. Can't really think, off the top of my head at the moment, of any movie scenes that spoke that much of TF biology besides the "Spark = Soul" scene in AOE.

The basic point, Stu, is that this isn't a topic for discussing 3rd party stuff. That's what the 3rd party forum is for.

I have no problem with it either since in Amelie-Land - G1 ends in the 80s and Beast Wars is entirely its own entity. =;

Looking forward to some beast modes, personally - the endless tides of Sports Cars, Jetplans and Helicopters in Combiner Wars was starting to get dull.

well first of all....mister Blade! i wasn't discussing anything! i merely stating that there's a better Octane style figure(YES! & i'm sure that's debatable) that came along AFTER that Generations Tankor!(& whether it's an official or 3rd party figure is beside the point!) now AS you specify that i should've took my comments to the 3rd party thread! well....the Tankor topic wouldn't have been on there in the first place to respond to!(speaking of which...Tankor isn't a Titans Return figure either! while your on the subject of what belongs where!) so it seems that your response is rather directed at ME while other posts on here which also may share those same concerns remain unmolested (which makes the whole thing rather descriminating).

oh & if your gonna dictate terms...then surely it should apply to everyone instead of singling people out! as i'm sure i've not just been the only one who's in violation of the subject matter within a post.

Since Liokaiser's leg configuration is a bit different than other G1 gestalts, I wonder how it would look with the CW limbs. I need to get Sky Lynx in and try this out... :-?

From the artwork we've seen, the legs appear to just be attached to the torso like the normal CW combiner legs are.

Though, this is the Titans Return thread.

Wait, are the g2 combiners being released in combiner war packing or just regular tf packing? Also I have to wonder if the box set trend will continue next year in some form :-?

I could totally see takara release the four deluxe autobot headmasters in a box set (give it the title "four warriors from space!" Or whatever the translated title was for the first headmasters episode)

So just generic packing :-? Interesting.

At one point yesterday I think a little bit of the cw thread was moved into this thread. I suspect we'll get a lot more titan returns talk once we either get more teases or new York toy fair.

My fault, sorry. I was trying to change the subject, thought Liokaiser was being released under TR.

So, yeah, kinda sucks that we're getting a bunch of heads without bodies, at least for now... And, I imagine Alpha Trion will be a headmaster too, but did we receive rumor on that front?
