Wolves actually have much bigger paws than domesticated dogs, so the "chunky" paws on Weirdwolf aren't all that odd when you know that.
Not that big. It just looks a bit too cartoony for my tastes. The third-party Weirdwolf shown above has better legs. Eh I still might get him anyways and paint one as Carnivac as it should be an improvement on the Cybertron Snarl I own that I also repainted as Carnivac. And I might get another to repaint as a Siberian Husky like my family dog whom I still very much miss.

What kind of Maximal doesn't get animals though?

Don't know for sure, but that sure does look like it could be. and it makes sense too

Another option for you might be the BotCon 2007 "Games of Deception" Weirdwolf, a redeco (and a very good one, at that) of the Cybertron Snarl mold. He's not a Headmaster, obviously, but that mold just oozes charm, especially with Weirdwolf's colors.
Also, sorry to hear about your woofy.Pets are family, and it's hard to be without them.

That was only the price listed for the SDCC Exclusive. The standard retail version will be the same price as Devastator, that was confirmed recently (dont remember where).

Phew! Still wish the retail version actually would come with a sword. Kinda sucks him not having a hand held weapon

I am 100% certain a 3rd party company will help out with that. And I do hope it will be less than 50$. If its more then getting the Takara version might be the better option.
Then again, you could just get the SDCC version for 180$ from HTS later this year. That could be a good compromise

Oh, I have a couple beast formers. But the Predacons from Prime Beast Hunters just aren't a lot of fun to me. Rhinox is amazing and Rattrap is good, just fiddly. The big thing is all the beasts are cons. Now if we got say a headmaster Tigerhawk, I'd be all over that like Va'al is all over Alpha Bravo.
