Transformers Toy haul thread

Yeah I stopped in at Target on a whim on the way to work, and there they were, just strewn on the shelf. No price tag, no allocated space, nothing. There were 2 of the seeker pack, and the lone set of clones. Now I'm thinking I should have gotten that 2nd seeker set, in case 1 of you wanted it... I might go back tomorrow and see if it's still there.

I wonder if the TR versions of the clones have gone down on eBay.
I don't get why those clones are so expensive. They are basically bad toys and the Takara pack can still easily be imported from Mandarake for a reasonable price.

Well, last time I looked the two from the Walgreens pack at least weren't too bad, not sure on the others. But the other two probably are somewhat costlier just because of being boxset exclusives. I was just wondering if these releases would drive things further down.-Kanrabat- wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Congrats! Very sweet finds.

I had a good day today. First off Amazon Alternate Universe (dead) Optimus Prime was sitting on my porch so that was great. Shipping info was confusing, Amazon said it shipped 7/14, UPS said it shipped 7/16 with no arrival date, but sure enough it arrived Friday.
Then went to Target hoping to find the Earthrise exclusives, but no luck on that front. What I did find was the Cyberverse Judge set for $15 and a Cyberverse Spark Armor Shockwave for $7.50 or so, both were on clearance for 50% off.
Then hit Walmart where I found G1 Astrotrain clearanced for $25. Would have taken a photo of that on the shelf, but there was an employee cleaning up the action figure section and stores are sketchy about taking pictures of their stuff. No reason I can't take a picture of the receipt.
Wish I'd spent a little more time looking at him before I bought him, the bottom of the box has a lot of shelf wear. But still, pretty good day.

I've had some productive hunting the last few days. I found the seeker two-pack (for someone else) on Thursday, which was nice to finally track down. I like them more than I thought I would, they have excellent jet modes.
And then I finally found SS Roadbuster! ...Except the box had clearly been opened, Roadbuster taken out, put back in on top of the plastic ties (which were still in there, uncut) and taped shut again. Nothing was missing as far as I could tell (though his gun was just rattling around loose, apparently it had just been placed back on top of the (uncut!) plastic tie), it wasn't a figure swap and there was nothing visibly wrong with it... but obviously it was returned for some reason. For $20 I didn't feel like taking a chance. Better luck next time, Roadbuster...
I also picked up ER Wheeljack at Wal-Mart yesterday (I was kinda waiting to see what the Netflix deco looked like). I like him quite a bit. He was really the only figure I wanted from wave 1 (I might pick up Cliffjumper eventually), so now I'm ready for wave two. My local Target has battlemasters at 50% off, so hopefully Rung shows up soon...

Got a pretty sweet little birthday haul.
Two Slitherfangs, which are utterly delightful. I looove the explosion effects these guys come with!
Earthrise Optimus Prime. I had at first considered skipping over him, because I was like “it’s just one more OP” but hot damn is he ever a wonderful toy!
Also got the Thundercracker and Skywarp two-pack. Very excited.

Got a "meh" haul yesterday of my 3rd Soundbarrier. I think this is one of the worst designs imaginable, except, it is really useful for base building, which is the only reason for getting a 3rd one.

I've got 4 or 5 of them currently and they really are only good for road building. But since the clips are made of hard, clear plastic, a few of mine are starting to not hold together and are very loose. One even is showing signs of cracking. I love the bridge BMs but why did they have to be made out of clear plastic!

Got Earthrise Doubledealer in the mail today from Target.com. Funny how the stores don't want our money without a fight, but the website is happy to take it. Got it for a great price, too, since I ordered it way back during that BOGO sale. He's pretty nice, though the bot legs could stand to be just a slight bit longer. I appreciate that the bird wings are now ratcheted, wasn't expecting that. Also could confirm for myself that the bird mode can carry the missile underneath like the original figure. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that all the extra weapons can't be combined like the extra weapons from Roadbuster or Astrotrain. How hard would it have been to stick some extra peg holes in the radar array? They stuck 3mm peg holes in it, but only the gun has a 3mm peg and the only way to attach it isn't in any useful direction. More annoying is all these parts have 5mm pegs have what I'm guessing are 2mm holes missing out on a chance to use them in more places. But I consider these to just be a bonus on a figure that I really like! Never thought I'd now be on my third (technically fourth, I have two of the G1 figure) Doubledealer figure (and a Clouder Headmaster), any more and I might have to dedicate a shelf to him.

Nice, D-Max!! Here’s hoping you love Doubledealer as much as I do. I know some folks aren’t huge on his bird mode, but I am. Just watch out for his legs. One of mine, as it turns out, is prone to popping off right below the knee. It happens when it’s turned just the right/wrong way. He’s got weird mushroom pegs, and that joint is a real tight area. So putting it back in is a task and a half.
But other than that I think Dealer is a fantastic looking toy. I’m a big, big fan of his chonky proportions.

Got two hauls today!
First, I bought a received a vintage G1 Ultra Magnus trailer with a helmet and a belt/trailer hitch. That trailer was for a CUSTOM FOR MY FRIEND. I used the trailer of my reissue UM to make his custom early. Unfortunately, the tolerances for the fists and belt are not the same between the reissue and the vintage. So the pegs are way too loose. I had to put some tape on the tower pegs so that the missile launchers and the fists could plug in. As for the belt, I had to use the vintage one.
The other is Fan Hobby Athena. I show her off in THE THREAD NO ONE CARES ABOUT.

I also received a Mandarake order that I got way sooner than expected. Less than a month of waiting is a record.
I sold my MP Exhaust lately because it made no sense in my collection. So I bought MP Wheeljack (1st version). Used and came with his Amazon bonus!
Forgot here to put the mirrors on Wheeljack's vehicle.

As expected, Transforming Wheeljack is a breeze and he rock his bot mode.

I also got something else with my Mandarake order. I show it HERE.

Walked into the Walmart toy aisle and there was SS Sentinel Prime just sitting there. I've been thinking about getting him for a while and finally seeing him in person I just couldn't resist. Just a fantastic looking figure, barely looks like it could transform (like a lot of SS figures) but it does, and it does a brilliant job of hiding all of the panels. Can't say I've ever seen a figure with so many panels that isn't a shellformer. Some of the panels are tricky, but more because they're stiff than because they're poorly made, which is a good thing, no fear of them popping out. Perhaps Voyager of the year?

Sentinel is incredibly solid, and really fun to transform with all the panel magic, but I've got to give Voyager of the year to his wavemate Scrapper. But the 2 of them together? Possibly the best Voyager wave in all of Studio Series so far.

I like Scrapper a lot, he's actually sitting on my desk right now. His transformation is great and his bot mode is pretty nice, but I'm not crazy about all the obvious robot modes stuff in the alt mode like his claws/weapons being so blatant in the tractor bucket, those big cylinder things from his shoulders that don't belong to the bucket loader, or the lack of attempt to hide the Devastator connector on the back. By no means is he a bad figure, but I think he could have had a better alt mode.

Both of the SS voyagers from that wave are great. All 4 SS voyagers this year have been fantastic. But I think the movie 1 Megatron is the best voyager this year so far. that is a solid toy
