After struggling through the endless forest of "wave 1 everything" at TrU, I went to the barren desert of Walmart's TF section. But lo and behold, a G1 oasis! I never thought I'd ever come across G1 Hot Rod live in store so I grabbed two before the scalper roaches come crawling in. One for me and one for my friend who is too busy on week days to do anything. So we have our G1 Hot Rods secured!

Awesome, Kanra! I’m seriously envious of everyone who has been able to get their hands on these latest reissues. I wish physical Walmart’s in the US were carrying these.

You convinced me Kanrabat, i went to pick him up. Also got a pleasant surprise in the mail.

The after market price for Magnus is super low and his price now feels quite cheap compared to many mp releases since.

Smart move, Will. I played with my G1 Hot Rod and the quality is there. And 40$CAN is still pretty cheap. Especially compared to how run-of-the-mill movie deluxes go for. I wish Godspeed to all of you Americans who have to deal with the iffy online distribution. Maybe it's just karma for all those Marshall, Ollie's, and Tuesday Morning deals you got.

That MP Ultra Magnus will blow you away. Seriously, he's good! Dunno what price you got but mine was bought used from Mandrake at only 9K yen... plus another 5K yen in shipping. But at least, no customs! So that's that. Well worth the money though.

Man I've been debating back n forth on Magnus. It's about $140 shipped via Amazon JP.....

You and WJ are killing me! I literally went through my list of wants this morning and deleted MP-22 from the list, no joke! My thinking: I don't really need it, the CW version is perfectly fine for me at a fraction of the cost. Argh....not I'm thinking hard about it.

WJ - have you had a chance to play with it yet? What are you thoughts?

Eh, fair enough. And if you mind scale and prefer the normal Generations, any MPs are way too big. It always depend mostly of the deep want. And as a "veteran" collector, I learned that if you buy a thing with just a tiny bit of a shadow of a doubt at the back of your mind, that's enough to give buyer remorse.

From the looks of it, I would definitely favor the MP. I'm just making due with the Generations. The only thing holding me back from getting the MP is cuz I'm cheap lol.

Well, that's reason enough. Because if you're not willing to pay the price on a thing, it's because you really don't want it. And if you pay it anyway, disapointment is sure to follow. And as a collector, it's the worst feeling ever.

Novastar arrived today from Amazon. That completes POTP Deluxe for me. I can't remember the last time I was able to complete Deluxe class from Hasbro alone, I sure can't say that about cw and TR. Now I just need Rodimus Prime, Unicronus, OpOp, Inferno and PM waves 2 and 3 (plus P/CP which are on order) to complete PotP.

Received Swerve from Wally world. Never had a G1 minibot before so definitely had a "that's it?!" sort of reaction. Don't think I'll go crazy looking for any of the other minibot except for Bee.

At long last, got my hands on the wave 3 deluxe terrorcons. I had Hun-grr and Rippersnapper in combined mode on my table for a while and it was just a sad sight.

I haven't even combined them yet, but these deluxes look fantastic in bot mode. Luckily they seem like they don't have any QC issues. I ordered these off Amazon and each figure had a "substandard grade" sticker on them. I was sure it was just due to subpar packaging, and that does seem to be the case.

You know, I was on the fence about this guy, but having him in hand and sniffing the new-toy-smell out of him now, I can say that I'm actually really pleased with him! If you were to ask 6 year old me what the two coolest things in the world were, I would have said dragons and jet fighters! Now here are those two things, together at last. Yes he has issues, but damn if I don't care about them! This thing is goofy and I love it!

@Fires - I thought I was all but done with RID, but I found Twinferno on clearence. He's not breaking any Transformers records, but he's just silly simple fun.

I was sent out to pick up dinner tonight. Went to a spot that sits in front of a Target I don't often get to. Figured I'd run in quick to see wht I could see.

Lo and behold! All 3 wave 3 PMs. The last ones I needed.

So after getting Novastar on Friday, and these 3 tonight, all I need now is Wreckgar and Prediking and that will wrap up PotPie for me.

I'll agree with you on that Cobo. It's definitely up there. Though I may need to switch out the feet. Not a big fan of the POTP feet vs. the CW HFG.

Have you tried pegging the extra hands into the back of Hun Gurr's stock feet? They can hang off the back, or you can flip them around for some simian beast feet. Toes and all! :lol:

I've found it adds some much needed stability. Here's a pic for an example. If you haven't already seen this done.
