Me and a couple locals shall bask in the joy of Amazon's wonders today

So not a haul. But. Oh the things you find rummaging through the basement

I remember. I got two OpOp's for Christmas. Kept the second one here in the box cause why not. I've got pretty much an entire set of original BW show characters fresh and mint ready for display. Thank God I didn't have to buy a new OpOp... the prices

I'd like to know as well because the only way to have a Gen Metroplex "on sale" is to get the Takara reissue from a store.

Kapow Toys. I was looking for the link to post and any mention of it seems to have vanished without a trace

No wonder, considering how the big boy go on the secondary market.
So, nice score!

Thanks. A little extra digging and the link has re-emerged, back at full price (£225)https://www.kapowtoys.co.uk/transformers-legends-lg-ex-metroplex-reissue-4890.html

First up, I went to that collector's store to hunt some G1 combiners. No luck, but I will go back this weekend when their TF guy is in. But I did find all these guys for $23. Found all but the boxed one in a bin, so there was some hard searching!
2 little statues of movie 1 Prime in protoform and actual robot mode; this legends Cybertron Megatron (found in 3 pieces in the bin, reassembled); Beast Wars Croc-Megatron (missing tail); G1 Icepick; Worlds smallest Bee; Keychain G1 Bee; 2 of those classics legion Megatrons; Minicons: Grindor, Oval, Anti-Blaze, Overcast, Dune Runner, and Safeguard from the gold Vector Prime.
Also, Takara Beast Wars Apache. I caved, the price was good and he looks really cool

You paid $15 for a Takara Apache?
But enough about my old stuff, I've got a nice tiny haul haul today.
First is something I didn't know existed until it popped up in a recent PotP Punch/Counterpunch discussion, Kreon "Nightbeat" (it's Punch). Having every other version of P/CP (the PotP version is in the mail) as soon as I saw it I jumped on eBay and found one complete in its little sealed baggy for $6 shipped.
And Target finally stocked a bunch of new Transformers so I was finally able to get PM wave 3! This is the first time they've shown up in my area.
Just ordered wave 2 off HTS so that just leaves Predaking and Onyx Prime to complete my PMs!

Wave 2 just arrived. I wish Hasbro had fixed their quality controls with Landmine. Bludgeon was sold out so i picked up Landmine hoping i didnt get bad luck.
But as i inspected him it turned out his shoulder were loose and floppy as hell. I was able to get a return in Toys'R'us but i chose a Submarauder/Alchemist Prime instead of risking another bad one.
Still i really like the Bludgeon and Landmine designs and Hasbro didnt fix wave 2 issues. what a terrible day this is my only bad quality buy/bad luck
(the only other bad luck was 1974 camaro 2007 bumblebees chest automorph in car mode)
Still Submarauder isnt all bad

Went to my local TrU and guess what? THEY HAVE RESTOCKED SS SERIES AND POTP!...…………………………………………………...with all wave ONE figures. I'm not even joking!
Walmart is not better. Appart the Cyberverse crap, they have NOTHING. I'm pretty glad I didn't waited for Hot Rod. So to finally have some plastic crack, I got the only Cyberverse toy I truly care about, "leader" Megatron:

He feel very solid in hand and I'm pretty glad that the only exposed hollow parts are the inner thighs. However, he don't get a perfect score and that's because of the transformation that is surprisingly finnicky. The head pop out randomly instead of when it's supposed to and the thread panels lock correctly in place when the knees and legs are bent juuuuust right.
I do forgive the lack of elbows and neck joints because of what it is. Now what I hope for is a nice reprolabels set to spruce-up Meg's deco. Worth the full 45$? Almost. It would have been better bought on sale, but I don't regret getting him.

Apache is a lot of fun! He reminds me of how Primal's OG toy looks to function (I don't have one) and the blue is so tasty.
And nice Emerje! Great Takara Beasts priced alike!
Went back to the store today to talk to their Transformers guy about completing Defensor and Piranhacon (damn you BURN). He had Snap Trap, but he was incomplete (missing something from the back of turtle mode) and had no combiner bits, and that was it, so I passed. Next up, he had all 5 Protectobots, but did not want to separate First Aid from them (understandable) and he was missing a fist, half the chest, the Defensor head, and one of the guns for Defensor. so I passed.
But upon asking if he had a torso and 2 limbs to enact my contingency plan, he revealed a complete Scattershot, Afterburner, and Lightspeed, and sold them to me for $50. So now, I give you: G1 Betatron!!!

Tentakill is absolutely killing me with how out of place he looks on this combiner
I honestly might cave and hunt down Strafe and Nosecone on Ebay so I have a standard Computron to oppose Abominus (funny how that has turned out, isn't it?) and leave my favorite Combiner bot and the really weird but awesome and hilarious Tentakill by themselves for a while.
Also, gotta hunt down a shell for Ice Pick!

These are all fantastic toys in my opinion. Minor is a ton of fun, and very posable. I headcanoned him as partners with B’Boom. They’re basically part of my Beast Wars Wreckers. Sonar might be a little weak, but still fun, and great looking. I’ll admit that Jawbreaker may be on the clunky side in his bot mode, but he still looks amazing. And his beast mode stunning. He also sports what might be my favorite bio card for any BW figure. Prowl is one of my favorite toys. I got the black one a couple months back, and I plan to buy a white version when I find one for a price I like. I don’t mind double dipping at all.
It really does come down to personal preference. To me the Transmetals is one of the most solid and enduring TF lines to date.

I wish we could get more transmetals down the line, they were all brilliant and fared better than their fellow fuzors.

I absolutely agree. I’d love to see some new Transmetals, or at least some strong nods to the line. The concept of Fuzors was better than the actual execution. I love a good asymmetrical design, but a lot of the Fuzors were a little on the awkward and unbalanced side. With a lot of them I prefer their beast mode over their bot mode. It would be cool to see them brought back too. With modern engineering I’m sure they’d be a huge improvement,

Asking for MP Transmetals may be a bit much, but they could do some Generations updates like they did Beast Wars.

Generations is more what I’m talking about. I’d be ecstatic to see some modern renditions of TMs in the Generations line. If I remember correctly Takara said they don’t intend to do Transmetals. I could be misremembering something though. But if the MP Beast Wars keeps going as well as it has been, I could see them doing TM Prime, Megatron, Cheetor, Ratrap, and Tarantulas maybe four or five years from now. After the core cast is finished of course. The on screen Transmetals were very few in number.
Also, my Punch/Counterpunch just arrived.

They all look good to me. Prowl is fantastic in both modes. Jawbreaker is a little unruly in bot mode thanks to his shoulders, but otherwise he isn't much different from TM2 Cheetor. I see no problems with Optimus Minor, his split arms are entirely optional. And Sonar is a fun figure to mess around with and looks cool in both modes.
Anyway, forgot to post that my two Punch/Counterpunch figures came in Sunday from Amazon. They both came in their own cardboard boxes like the previous 2 so at least that's been consistent for what it's worth.
Also got Prime Masters wave 2 off HTS in today so no more me worrying about if I'll ever see these in stores. Now I just need to pick up a Predaking to complete the Primes.

Bucky wrote:I absolutely agree. With modern engineering I’m sure they’d be a huge improvement,
Fully agree with this and the above Transmetal talk. I have Jawbreaker and PrOWL, and I enjoy both. The Transmetals are a great section of TF history that deserves to be revisited
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please!
