WJ - have you had a chance to play with it yet? What are you thoughts?

So here is the thing? How much do you like when panels tab in just right? Because for me it is a major turn on, and by the time I had finished transforming him into his truck mode, I needed a new pair of pants.
The transformation truly is the best part, there are so many little tricks that really show how much more you can do when you have a greater budget and more surface area. And interestingly enough, he feels like his alt mode took priority over his robot mode. What i mean is that CW magnus's alt mode feels like the robot parts just reconfigured into something that looks like a vehicle while the MP robot mode feels like the alt mode parts reconfigured. His torso is a bunch of alt mode bits from various sections fitting into each other to give the robot mass. That does mean he lacks a waist swivel, which I find pretty lacking for a toy this expensive. The forearm articulation is also lacking due to how massive those parts are. So its give and take.

Since the transformation is my favourite part of the figure, I do like this guy more than the CW. Be is double the toy, easily, but at triple the cost. I was able to use rebates on e-bay and got him for $96 USD so I have no regrets at all (quite the contrary). Mine does have an issue though, the daniel figure it comes with has 2 right feet. Do I care? No. I was worried maybe the resell value might drop, if ever I go that route, but at $96 its not a big deal at all.

Received Swerve from Wally world. Never had a G1 minibot before so definitely had a "that's it?!" sort of reaction. Don't think I'll go crazy looking for any of the other minibot except for Bee.

yeah, thats G1. Most of G1 is rather simple with the alt mode usually being the favoured mode and the bots having odd proportions. How do you find Starscream? I figured you would dislike that more since it has the off proportions, simplicity and partsforming aspect. I do feel there is a charm to them, and some are absolutely amazing, like Fort Max.

@Will - I'm anxious to also here your thoughts on Big Mag there. Wondering if you feel he still fits in the #2 slot we put him in for the top 5 Ultra Magnus toys list.

I like him more than CW, but feel CW is better value (for the price point). So it could go either way , depending on how we look at things

Got me this really sweet haul aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way from Australia from our good Forum Mod. 9 movie bots, and he even threw in 2 random G1 limb bots, including my favorite Protectobot! But now I got an issue with the combiner limbs and now I want to complete those 2 combiners or get 2 more limbs and a complete torso to make a random ass combiner

I must say, Dropkick is a stunner! I really am enjoying the lot so far!

Also got an Amazon haul as well. Just need Wreck Gar for my Elita combiner!

I must say, Dropkick is a stunner! I really am enjoying the lot so far!

Man, you got that right, all of those "not in the movie" movie bots are pretty sweet. I love how Landmine's hands become the seats. Incinerator is quite a feat of engineering to give him arm pose-ability with the spinning feature. Dropkick is a hell of a lot of fun with a sweet multi-tool weapon (it slices, it dices, it can also tighten a bolt.) But for me the real gem is Ransack. I love how they gave him the perfect crazy-assed old man look to pair up with being a biplane. Seriously, a biplane alt mode.

Dropkick is my favorite of the bunch so far, and Incinerator and Ransack are pretty awesome! There are some great alt modes here, and some really unique robots as well. Dropkick is so much better than I ever thought, the robot mode is killer!!! I love the nice mix of figures from that sweet 2007-2009 range. I plan to rearrange some cons, and I think a good movie shelf like my movie bot one is in order, and maybe the bot one needs modified too for the new guys, since they were in tie-in material.

Either way, sweet stuff! Still haven't opened NovaStar yet, she has been outclassed in every way, at least until Wreck Gar so we can make a giant woman

That is a sweet haul and you got wreckage as well! He's one of my favourites from that point.

Fun fact: before I got rid of my g1 stuff, I had a combiner made up of three bots from defensor (first aid, blades and hot spot), air raid and slingshot and a gun made up from tentakill

Awesome haul, D-Max. I really love the off screen movie toys. I wouldn’t mind if the SS line eventually started doing some, after they finish the core movie casts.


Had a pretty great haul this week.

Found Jazz at my local Target. I was originally going to pass on him, but when I saw him in person I knew I’d regret it if I left without him. I do think he’s a little overpriced due to his size, but I absolutely love this figure. Mostly because of his size. Hasbro really needs to bring back the scout class.

Nova is good, but I think my favorite part is her gun, and that if you take the thumbs off her hand accessory you can fit it perfectly into her backpack to make a jet pack.

Another TM2. Apart from Nightglider’s heavy backpack, he’s another great basic BW figure.

While I really wish I had been quick enough to get in on Starscream and the minibots I’m going to consider myself fortunate enough that I got Hot Rod.

And I finally got all of the Terrorcons. Very glad that I can build Abominus now.

Thanks. I’m almost finished with the Transmetals. I think I only have seven left to go, but most of them are doozies. Excluding redecos like the Fox Kids versions of Ratrap, Rhinox and Waspinator. I do kinda want to pick those up though.

He’s a terrific little figure, despite suffering from a heavy backpack. And his sword stores nicely in the tail. I’m just glad I got him for a reasonable price. I wasn’t about to pass him up.

You mean the split arm gimmick? No. He’s got his bot arms, which fold up and under him in beast mode, and his little glider claws fold flush with the wings.

I never understood Minor’s splitting arms myself, but it’s kinda cool.

I have that Nightglider mold as Dark Scream, it is a pretty awesome little mold!

Sonar only has four arms as a quirk of his transformation, but it wasn't intentional. You could basically do the same thing with Nightglider if you wanted to. Spitor has a weird claw that pops out of his back for some reason while Scarem can be posed with four legs. I wonder if the really odd ones like Op Minor were scrapped Animorphs Andalite designs that they down scaled and retooled, but left a few of the strange features behind. The Beast Wars Mutants are also theorized to be unused Animorphs designs so there is a precedence for it happening.

I own all of the Transmetal II figures, I don't think there's a bad one among them, they're all worth hunting down.

I thought I read somewhere that confirmed that indeed the beast wars mutant figures were non-used animorph figures (incidentally, I loved the book series but could never get into the show). Didn't Tigerhawk also feature the extra arm gimmick?

Emerje - Ooo. Spitor isn’t just one of my favorite BW toys. He’s one of my favorite toys period. He’s so well balanced and posable.

I never knew the Beast Mutants were supposed to be Animorphs. I’ve never owned one, but they always looked like a bit of a departure from the look of the other BW toys to me.

Z3ROhour - is that what he’s supposed to be? I thought he was a deranged sugar glider.

Aside from a genuine dislike of TM 2 Megatron's aesthetic, I thought TM 2 was a standout line in Beast Wars.
