I guess it's sort of a hula? I took the boys to Micky D for happy meals, they got Bumblebee movie toys, well, what are now Bee Movie toys. Kinda a creepy picture of new Bee on the box as well

I do, he has the most lackluster transformation I ever experienced as a kid. I remember getting TM2 Cheetor for christmas and being totally underwhelmed by how similar he was in both modes but that was before handling Opimus Minor which took the cake.

Not a fan of transmetal 2 cybershark either, way too many panels. But the rest are great. And I really wish to get Sonar, Gaskunk, the frog (forgot his name), Blackarachnia (will probably never happen) and Prowl one day. And yo, guys, Ramulus is amazing too.

Anyways, here is my haul from the thrift store

Image

Lots of junk, but it was 14$ CAD. I will donate some stuff back to the thrift store (it came in bags as you can see here) and sell the doubles. That Soundwave had some excellent condition on his stickers so I might swap out some parts with the one I already have.

To each their own I guess. I already had a good number of the Basics that had come before and I found Optimus Minor to be far more interesting than any of the earlier auto-transforming figures that basically all transformed the same way with slight variations or some of the Basic Fuzors that were either kibble heavy (Bantor) or hindered by their own play feature (Noctorro). Sure, he basically transformed by doing a handstand, but at least he didn't transform himself.

Interesting how our tastes and what we seek in toys differs so much between the kid version of you and I. I didnt mind the automorph bit in the basics since there was always that idea of hidden details that would come out in robot mode and the robot would look different than the beast mode (plus I liked how rattrap did transform taht way in the cartoon and it made it look like I could transform my toys as quickly as they transformed on the show). My problem with Optimus Minor and TM2 Cheetor was how they shared the same limbs and details for the most part from one mode to the next (I didnt care that the feet were now hands and the hands were now feet for Minor, I really hated that). Plus the mouth was the same, I remember that really upsetting me. Like at least the entire robot head for Cheetor was new. Thats why I remember disliking some beast machines toys like deluxe primal and mega cheetor which followed that trend established by TM2 cheetor.

Cant believe I totally ignored the more basics in that line sicne I cared more for on screen characters back then :BANG_HEAD:

I used to find good stuff in laval back when I lived there. But not at the one on des laurentides, the one on curé labelle was much better. It has ROTF Optimus and the blue terrorsaur redeco.

I found it easy to overlook TM2 Cheetor's shortcomings simply because he was cartoon accurate. That makes a lot of things more forgivable to me.

And Minor's hands-to-feet-to-hands transformation is easier to accept since he's a monkey and monkey feet are basically hands. ;)

Big haul (by my standards) today. Funny thing is I was totally busted by the wife. Not sure how many of you saw Crazy Rich Asians (I didn't have a choice in the matter). There is a scene in the film where a woman goes crazy shopping. When she gets home, the helpers all know what to do: hide the goods! That was totally my plan today. But as luck would have it, my wife ran into me on the train home, something that rarely happens. As we walk into the house, there are 3 boxes and she knows they're all mine lol. The other crazy thing is these were 3 different orders through 3 different retailers placed on 3 different dates. Lucky me!

Anyway, so I got G1 reissue Outback from Walmart, POTP P/CP from Amazon, and a non-TF (SOC Dragonzord from N-Y).

Yup! Can't believe it took so long! It left Japan on 8/2 and arrived today. It wasn't EMS but still. At least it didn't take too long once it arrived in the US.

Nice, I'm glad it worked out! I'm a little surprised they would ship something so expensive via SAL, A lot of stores like AmiAmi (and I think Mandarake) wont do it.

Its because it was a big package. SAL shipping is waiting for there to be extra space on planes that are sold for cheap. The bigger the package, the less likely it is to have enough extra space not accounted for.

I had me a nice post birthday haul over the weekend but was too busy to enjoy them until today.

First up PotPie Punch/Counterpunch, I love it. My shoulder mis-assembly was definitely a factory error of some type as I had one shoulder assembled each way. I was very grateful that applying the fix was so easy for the other shoulder.

WOOHOO Congrats! You my friend got by far the best deal any American ever got on that Lynx Master, glad you jumped on it.

PS: The original price for that toy was $160 USD before shipping from domestic retailers.

Local toyshop still has C.W. Sunstreakers... €20,- *sigh*
Was thinking about modding one into Sideswipe, to combine with Inferno, Jazz and Wreck-Gar.
If I could find another Prowl, I could paint him into Bluestreak, and have another complete autobot combiner.

I've never repainted a bot before. Any tips?
Want list:
Siege Sideswipe, Skytread, Soundwave, Starscream, Shockwave, Red Alert, Brunt, Smashdown, Greenlight, Toy Refraktor set, Impactor, Spinister, Lancer, Crosshairs, Hot Shot, Rumble & Ratbat, Frenzy & Wingthing, Skywarp.
Earthrise Snapdragon & Apeface.
Generations Selects Pirahnacon!

Still waiting for my Studio Series VW Bee after a month so it's probably lost or something but I got this 2007 Ultimate Bumblebee from the Viva charity shop & it's fun and gigantic. Like a Beezilla. Lights, sounds, animatronics. Had to sort it all out cos it was in a jumbled mess but it's fine and only missing the missile. Figure was £5 but i gave them £10 cos it's huge and cos it's my charity shop for the am dram group i am in so why not?

Yeah it's quite fun. Never had it when new as was way out of my price range and overly large gimmick toys but for the price I thought I may as well have a look and it's an amusing toy with a lot of different sounds and the animatronics are kinda neat. Hell of a complicated toy for a kid though. :O It's more articulated than I expected too though some of it is limited by kibble or the battery pack. The wings are so weird in how they almost detach entirely except for cords to keep them with the figure so they don't get lost yet are sorta partsforming.

-Kanrabat- wrote:Nice to see a U Bee transformed correctly for once!

Ah cool. I hoped I got it right. Was a total mess when I saw it in the shop and I was sorting it out into robot mode to make sure it's all there and got it to what I thought would be accurate enough and am glad I was right. I do recall that the vast majority of photos of the toy don't even try to transform the hood into the segmented chest pieces. I gave the early pics a pass cos movie Bee was still quite new and unfamiliar and it had been tradtional in TF toys to simply just fold the hood over and be done but later pics from when we're all familiar with the chest parts? Nah, they's all wrong. :P

They also had a TFA Megatron (had that figure before in a huge lot of TFA stuffs and didn't care for it but was alright) and a 2007 Voyager Ratchet in white/red G1 scheme. Passed on both.

Leader class one with electronics that turns into dual rotor helicopter thing and has cartoony proportions in robot mode I really hate where the lower half looks too small for the top half. Had it before and disliked it immensely.
