I'm just grateful to have an affordable Impactor figure that's his own mold.

I've never given a darn about hollow legs or forearms in my life but that's just me, these figures are going to be in cramped up displays anyways so I don't really pay attention to the insides anyways.

As for the others, love that we can have a Jetfire/Skyfire that just towers over the other Autobots, Leader class is fine but a class bigger then that really suits a Skyfire for those who collect based off the Cartoon, Omega looks lovely, this is the kind of brick I can get behind, I love Mirage as the character regardless so getting one that resembles his more unique body and vehicle mode type is a great bonus to me.

I'm happy overall, these are still toys and I don't expect much more then that.

I have to say that I'm intrigued by the Impactor. I spent a long time tracking down a TFCC version, but I might be tempted to sell it for a more panel-accurate version.

Well this is welcome news. I think my reasoning for my decisions have already been said by others, so I'll just keep this short and sweet.

Jetfire(and thank Primus it's Jetfire, not Skyfire  ): I'm not overly impressed. I'm glad he's going to be released, but this render makes him look dull. Hopefully some real photos will show him in a better light. As he is, not worth $80.

Omega Supreme: I was never into this character, but for the sake of completing my comics cast, I'll probably buy him if he goes on sale. The base mode looks dumb, but the robot mode is not bad, even if the face is weird. If I get him, he'll never see base mode.

Impactor: never cared for the wreckers, it's an easy pass.

Mirage: I think the CW figure is pretty much perfect, so this is an easy pass as well.

as soon as I saw the commander class info drop bfore, I instantly knew it was going to be jetfire. seemed too soon for another grimlock, and theres not that many g1 toon characters that would stand big enough for a new size class. still, a cartoon accurate SKYfire, whos not completely hollow like the last leader jetfire is something I really like. damnit hasbro, you pick now to finally go back to trying hard, when im broke?!? but seriously, this is all awsome

Doesn't look like one. Looks like an original mold.

While obviously they don't share any parts or anything, Impactor's legs reminded me of RID Drift's. The very short almost stubby thighs with the abnormally long lower legs by comparison with huge hollow cavities. The feet also look really awkward on both figures as well. I'm hoping that the cavities are there only to make the figure larger than a normal deluxe. Otherwise it would be strange to have them on only one figure in a line that has done really well mitigating or hiding such things.
Image
Image

And I guess I'm the only one who's going to double down on the T30 Jetfire and triple down on the Classics Jetfire now. There are times when I see characters done in different scales that I want to troop build with the smaller ones. So I already have two Classics Jetfires to act as drones for T30 Jetfire. So once I get Siege Jetfire, I'll get a second T30 and a third Classics to act as drones for him.

I'd love to see a commander class Skylynx. However, I think that an old leader class figure would be too small for him still. He'd need to be at least supreme class like Armada Unicron. Titan class would be best though. While commander class Tidalwave and Cybertron Metroplex would also be cool, they'd be almost the exact same size as their original toys. They really wouldn't gain anything from it except for a little better articulation. Tidalwave is really only lacking knees, ankles and thigh articulation and Metroplex is only lacking ankle pivot and both need more ratchet detents. They both mainly stand there menacingly though. Do they really need those things when placed towards the back of a display? To get the most out of them as updates, they'd also have to be at least supreme class.

Now Cybertron Menasor on the other hand, that would be a great candidate for commander class. As would a Cybertronian style Stratosphere. Both are supposed to be absolutely massive but their original toys don't exactly display that. While the same can be said for Metroplex, Skylynx and Tidalwave, commander class just wouldn't do those three enough justice. Energon Scorponok would also be cool but could interfere with a possible upcoming titan Scorponok.

Some other ideas for commander class; The Last Autobot, Halonix Maximus, Lugnut, Grandus, Armada Overload, Deathsaurus, Thunderwing, RID Megatron/Gigatron, BWII Galvatron, TM2 Megatron, Star Saber, Overlord, Grimlock.

First off, I want all of these, they all look great. But I've got a couple comments to make.

Jetfire - Fantastic! This is the figure I've been waiting my entire life for and it's finally happening! I do wish he was just another inch taller so I could sneak him in with MP figures (he might still look OK enough with some). I am a little concerned about his elbow joints, they look like they're a little restricted by the part on the front of the joint. Also his armor looks like it's based on the Macross Heavy Armor rather than the standard armor of the original figure.

Image

Omega Supreme - Looks great. I really thought the alt mode would look more like the Micromaster launch platform that came with Countdown and I'm happy to see it's much closer to the original. The track being a bridge now is a little weird, though. Plus they have the rocket in the wrong place, it should be closer to the chest in between the two pieces up in the air like the original. Also, the rocket is HUGE now! I do wish he was closer to 20" to match, but still tower over, Devastator since he isn't a city-bot, especially when they seemed to tease before that he would be.

Impactor and Mirage - Yeah, I'm sold. I do find it strange that Impactor has a big, unique shoulder mounted gun, but they didn't use it as his tank mode's main weapon. I don't really need another Mirage, but it does look like a good figure. Plus Mirage would be an easy retool into Blacker which I think was the missing piece from our theorized Road Caesar combiner. The fake chest on Mirage makes for an easy retool.

You'll notice an apostrophe at the end of the word deluxes. I5s only the COMBAT accessories that attach. Basically what they nean is Jetfire has 5 mm holes in vsrious places that you can peg accessories in. Like every other TF toy.

JETFIRE has a special feature where Deluxe figures’ (each sold separately, subject to availability) attach to jet mode so fans can imagine them being deployed into battle from above.

Cool!

Also, i dont get the obsession with wanting these new molds to be redeco'd into other chatacters, especially characters we already have good toys of.

They're not: Shockwave's has raised ridges on top of the barrels, while Jetfire's do not. It's a bit of a measly armor tbh: just the chest piece, the helmet, the arm guards and guns, all of which are stored on top of the jet.

I know I’m definitely in the minority here when I say that I like my T30 Leader Class Jetfire more than I like the look of this one. Hollow arms and legs aside, I appreciate the departure from a slavish GEEWUN design, and his battle mask is so goddamn kickass.

Omega looks fun in bot mode, but it’s too bad his base mode is so doofy looking. It just looks so cramped.

Not liking Impactor or Mirage. I dunno, maybe I’ll warm up to them, but really ever since we learned Impactor would be a deluxe, I lost interest. To me, Impactor needs to be with Springer. Hey, now that I mention it, perhaps when Springer is revealed I’ll change my mind about Impactor. (I doubt that though, as T30 Voyager Springer is going to be hard to beat.)
Back at it again!

Nuh uh. The average UT Supremes were about 15 inches tall. Jetfire's only 11 inches, so he'll be about half aan inch shorter than the likes of the CW/UW/Potpie Combiners, Armada Tidal Wave, and Beast Machines Ultra class Nightscream (all of which are about 11.5 inches each), and a whole inch shorter than the likes of 1988 God Ginrai, Car Robots/RiD 2001 God Fire Convoy/Omega Prime, and Armada Super-Base Optimus Prime (who are about exactly 12 inches each). ;)

I think the best size comparison for this new Jetfire would be the old Super class figures of Car Robots/RiD 2001 Super Fire Convoy/Optimus Prime Battle Mode and God Magnus/Ultra Magnus.

For some more Supreme class measurement examples, Armada Unicron is 16 inches, Primus the shortest Supreme is an exceptionally short 12.5 inches from head to toe, and Beast Machines Electronic Cheetor Supreme (with his robot mode legs fully extended) is approximately an impressively whopping 18.75 inches tall.

Jetfire does nothing for me, Thrilling 30 was fine and I like shapes besides 90-degree angles. That said, his new size class could be the key to new figures of some really cool JG1 characters. Star Saber, Deathsaurus.... maybe even another Overlord or Dai Atlas?

The seeds may already be there...

Less obsession and more expectations. It's more of a game of "guess the retool". I mean, already having a good figure didn't stop Siege Leader Optimus prime or Chromia or Mirage or PotP Optimal Optimus or many other recent remakes from happening. Granted, two of those were fan voted, but the end result was quite a bit different from expectations when they were voted for (and let's face it, most people weren't actually voting for Mirage).

And I'm trying to figure out what's going on with Jetfire's backpack because it looks like there's quite a bit going on there that isn't mentioned in the description. It looks like it opens up. Maybe this is where the Deluxe figure attaches to be deployed? Maybe it unfolds into a ramp and the figure rolls of the back? No way it's just a big red brick on his back.

Let's take another look at SIEGE Jetfire with all of his gear on in robot mode.

Image

It's a really fun idea Hasbro and Takara cooked up to make extra optional armor bits to kinda/sorta turn Sunbow "Skyfire" into G1 toy Jetfire in robot mode, but it really could have been executed a bit better. Simply playing around with the paint job on the chest piece could do a world of good, for instance. Jetfire could also use some bigger red pieces to bulk out the sides of his lower legs. A way to split the booster pack to have two skinnier nacelles sticking up on the back instead of one large red brick would be nice. Maybe it can do this? I know a lot of people are upset that the masked helmet doesn't include the black antennae. However, maybe it does! Take a look again at the black guns on the tips of the wings in the picture above. Then go back and look at the wings again in alt mode or "Skyfire" mode. They are removeable! I'm hoping you can just pop those small guns on to the sides of the masked helmet to complete his classic look. That still won't fix the fact that the visor is blue instead of red, though.

Just like with Shockwave, the main attraction is the base figure, and the additional accessories are just for fun. Also, to anyone worried about his size, this new Commander Class Jetfire is sure to be at least an inch and a half taller at the head that the Thrilling 30 Leader Class Jetfire mold. I did some measurements on my T30 Jetfire, and I think we're in for a real treat with scaling here. If SIEGE Leader Class figures are worth $50 USD, I definitely think Jetfire is a comparable value at $80 USD, based on apparent size (and anticipated mass).

A lot of replies to go through here

@warpath from impactor, I can't see this as Robot scale is important, I see it more likely that the next line will either reintroduce the legends class or offer a set so the mini bots are still smaller than the rest.

@Cybertron Defense Red Alert, who says they need to redeco him in this line? We could easily see Voyager Decepticon Stalker in the next line ;) then get the Cybertron Defense Team either as an exclusive next year or in the final year

Skyfire looks good, though with the armour on it reminds me a bit of Broadside. Omega and Countdown look really good. Impactor and Mirage both look good, though Impactor's alt mode is a bit generic looking.

Also I hope Skyfire's carrying ability is more than just a flip down peg to stick to the roof of a Deluxe
