Yeah, I get this is a GEEWUN line and all that but with the Voyager being clearly the 'main' Optimus of that line would it have killed Hasbro to give us the Primal-styled 'open mouthplate' look for the smaller to better complete look, even taking into account the Siege figure has a different transformation.
It would have made a world of difference I think.
I agree that that is one thing he sorely needed. He's fantastic, but that would have been an extra layer of ultra sweet icing
Beside, he would have stilled looked like Optimus Prime at a glance even without that G1 head, really.
What's even more upsetting is the fact that they didn't even go full G1 with the head since it still has the yellow eyes. If they'd gone full G1 with the blue eyes, then fine. Whatever. But the yellow eyes are such a tease

Yellow eyes are a mix of visual consistency with the super mode+homage to the Diaclone/G1 toy coloring.

Never, there is only one mold we will ever need.
No way man. Rip those electronics out and give more articulation to the torso!
And possibly make the sword out of a different material. The rubber does not hold up well in the tropics...
This.
the Vector Prime mold is good, but it can definitely have some improvements in articulation, swords, and maybe wing size too, they are a bit small and bad material.
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please! Wanna talk? Or Rollerblade? Click below and head on over to the D-Max Den!!

It's all good. For a bit I was wondering if it was an in-joke that I wasn't aware of.
So this reminds of Siege now. How many pronunciations for Impactor are there.
So, I just watched Chuck's review of Refraktor/Reflector and at the end he mentioned that on Hasbro's site, when you use the code from his box, you see the three Reflectors with additional parts for a flashbulb and Cybertronian text. I hate being skeptical, but seeing as a gift set of Reflector would be nice to see and potentially get instead of trying to hunt down 3 at retail, can anyone verify/translate the text?

What’s the box code?
It just says "Microx M" which is a reference to his original microman toy. Its just a fun easter egg, I wouldnt take it to mean anything else. And the pic is just an artist's take on the camera mode, I wouldn't make more of it than that.
Hasbro is releasing two simultaneous case assortments of wave 3 right now, so getting three reflectors shouldn't be the toughest thing.

Any guesses on those extra parts?
The flash cube and whatever's covering... Spectro (the right side) may have been planned, but dropped later in development. If so, I'm happy the designers at least considered the cube: no camera's complete without it.
In before "3P" accessory talk.

yes, I wrote it: artist's take on the camera mode. That looks a lot like the artist renders on toys we have seen before. It's the first thing that is done and then its given to the Hasbro team to use as a base for a toy. Lots of changes may happen in between for functionality's sake, hence why they don't look exactly alike.

Ah alright. Was just vaguely hoping that if a boxset did come to pass that it'd be in toy accurate decos just to help make each figure unique. Oh well

It's as likely now as it was before the pic existed.

The wings are rubber because that let them stay transparent while not being at risk of shattering sharp pointy shards were he to be thrown or dropped. A lot of mixes of hard clear plastic tend to be on the brittle side. Maybe if HasTak had Lego's clear plastic recipe his wings would have passed the drop test while rigid, but they don't.
I love the original Vector Prime toy, but I do think it could stand improvement (bicep swivels, making the laser sound effect be operated by a button instead of by moving an arm that's not even the arm Safeguard attaches to, maybe some torso articulation). A CHUG Vector Prime would have to be Leader-class to improve on the original, though, due to shrinkage.

I would love to see them take the opportunity with Fasttrack to really have him integrate well with whatever Scorponok ends up being. Like have his component pieces be great guns but can also double as towers or repair equipment, something like that.
Hmm, I wonder if they'll just retool Omega Supreme for him.
I was looking at my Trypticon for the longest time just at his torso and wondering if there was any way they'd end up repurposing that for a future Titan and I can see a little Scorpy in there.
I do hope that we'll get Scorponok as the titan in the next line. Mostly because he's long overdue. Though, I can't decide if I would want them to keep the headmaster the same size as the other headmasters and give him a helmet, or give him a legends class headmaster maybe with the option of storing a normal sized headmaster (sorta like Trypticon with Full-Tilt storing Necro). And I'd imagine that if they did, they'd either include Fasttrack with Scorponok or make him available in the same line
Well, they could do a legends-class Zarak that a normal-size one stows inside and which is then covered by a helmet in head mode a la the original Scorponok toy. Or they could have the big robot head permanently attached, and have Zarak plug into it like Wipe Out (AKA Necro) plugs into Trypticon's head. Doing it that way, Zarak could be used to deploy Scorponok's robot mode face like Wipe Out deploys Trypticon's snout gun.
Nathaniel Prime wrote:3) Refraktor is just great. He's taller than I imagined, and I guess that's a good thing, and he has a really cool looking space cruiser mode. Camera is where it takes the cake though, but I only have 2 right now so I can't fully make it. I really feel this is a superior product to all the 3P versions out there, in terms of look, posabilty, and value.
Overall, this wave has some really great figures going for it, and I'm excited about the Voyager waves coming soon!
Ye gods yes... The 3P Reflectors were all carved with an ugly stick.

I honestly wouldn't even change that about the figure. I get that having the inner bot be G1-based is lazy to many people, but I'm fine with it. It's a good way to get around having two completely different character named Optimus Prime running around in the lore of a G1 setting (hence "Galaxy Upgrade" in the first place), it matches the G1 toy, and since I grew up on the Unicron Trilogy, I'm more used to Prime having yellow eyes than blue anyway. Plus, I always associate the open mouthplate look more with Primal than I ever did with Prime, especially when it blatantly looks like Primal's face design like the Cybertron design did, so I prefer it stay his thing anyway.

I can confirm the image, as I discovered this about a month ago. This is what you see when you put his code (REFLECTOR) in the site:
As you can see, this shows that there maybe be a possible boxset coming, or whether thus was the original design that was scrapped.

Well, maybe or maybe not. Didn't the code for Greenlight sort of reveal Lancer as a possibility? If I'm recalling that correctly then Hasbro has used the codes to reveal things before. In any case, I think we'll have our answers about a month from now at SDCC.

Only in this instance, even then it's only the ambiguous "Classified" for the missing limb coupled with the name of Greenlight's significant other:
I so need Elita-1...
Taking precedent from Cybertron's online content, more often than not it was design sketches, color charts and other development material. Is the camera mode advertised on the box in any way?

If you had seen the rest of my sentence, I said that it could have also been design sketches or a prototype. I wouldn't say a possible boxset is out of the question. Surely HasTak recognizes that there is demand for a complete set?
