Actually he can put 1 or the other, but not both. If you didn't use the instructions, then you likely missed 1 step that uncovers a 5mm port. There is a very well hidden panel on each of his knees that needs to be folded up. His left knee hides the 5mm port. Shield fits perfectly there, blaster still has to go up top or on the side for me.

Clever! Thanks for the tip! :)

So I hear a new Omega Supreme should be out this year. If so will he be part of the SIEGE line IE with a Cybertronian altmode?? As that could mean we might finally getting Animated's greatest redesign as a toy...

Yup but it's all but confirmed he will be a base (unless they confirmed it and I missed it). Definitely on top of my list of wants.

While that's what I'm basing my assumption on, I wouldn't call that 100% confirmation (just to be safe) as it could just as easily dock in a spaceship. I want a base though

Oh... Looks like I'm back to just waiting for the New Scorponok City Bot to complete my set (someday). A transforming Ark, especially with the SIEGE design aesthetic, would have been awesome.

Well there's always HasLab if they could pry themselves off of Star War's jock. A Generations scaled Ark playset would be sweet and this is the perfect line for it ;)^

Never been too keen on the idea of a Transformers Playset. The City Bots blur the line, as they are both Playset and Transformer. I would love the Omega Supreme/Ark figure though. Much as I would really like them to apply The Revenge as an altmode at some point, as they did with Trypticon and Nemesis.

If you want a great looking, great feeling, overall great Ultra Magnus figure, this is the one. I would've included pictures, but they came out upside down? Oh well.

I’ve had Shockwave and Magnus for the better part of a week now, and I think I’ve picked up and played with UM everyday since I bought him. I’m kind of blown away by how much I’ve been enjoying him. He’s so much fun. Shockwave is no slouch, but I wish I had opened him up first, because Magnus is such a tough act to follow.

I enjoy all the greebly details. They help to blend all the extra weapon and armor ports into the figure.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about these, but there’s a whole new level of playability with the armor gimmick. I’d say that four out of five times I hate line wide gimmicks, find them obtrusive, and wish they’d just leave them out, but this is one I can get behind.

Overall I’m feeling pretty excited about what’s to come. Even more so due to PotP being such a half hearted let down in my opinion. I’ll have to wait a while before I can pick up the deluxes and voyagers, but I’m hoping the bulk of the line is this entertaining,

I've only seen them in the rounded off section that protrudes out where the normal endcap shelves would be.

Back to Omega Supreme, nobody mentioned that he comes with Micromaster Countdown and his alt mode will likely look a little like a combination between his regular G1 look and the Micromaster Rocket Base doubling as a playset.

I picked up Siege Optimus today. He's fantastic. Much more intricate transformation than I thought and such a great looking figure.

He's got headlights on top and on the front of his cab, so what are those circular bits on the lower corner of the cab? They kinda look like gatling guns.

Those are pretty much my thought exactly, I'm still trying recoup from having my mind blown. I'm hoping for a NemmyP repaint.

I don't mind the odd roof top, its weird he has molded cab lights under it. It's a little awkward on his back but I've found a few to make it "better". The first (and why I have taken a pic is beyond me) is spin it 180° and it will sit closer to him at an angle but then all the little bits are exposed.

The other thing is to use some imagination.

I'm aware of this, and looking forward to see how it all integrates. back in 1988, I remember being *let down* seeing as how Hasbro didn't offer us something "Bigger and better" than Fort Max in TF's 5th year, after all as a kid I saw the progression...

1985-Omega Supreme
1986-Metroplex
1987-Fortress Maximus
1988 ????

One thing I learned form *The toys that made Us* was that this was during the time when Takara basically let Hasbro design it's own toys (but obviously there was some idea sharing still...just not as much as there should have been...

Even though I did not get any original Transformers post 1987, the Countdown Micromaster base was one that did impress me, as if to say...If they were going to do something "Big" even on a smaller scale, THIS was it. I for one, look forward to an Omega Supreme that closely resembles the original, because I love Transforming playsets, they remind me of pre-TF Microman sets. Also I look forward to see how the Countdown base idea and Micromaster are integrated.

I cracked open Siege Megatron today. At first I was a little let down, but my second helping was much tastier. I knew Prime was going to be a tough act to follow, so I tempered my expectations low but on first blush Megs fell short. Even though it's a fairly straight forward and simple transformation a few steps are a little confusing with clearance being a very small issue and visibility being a larger issue (that is until you know where it all goes). Siegatron does have a few clever tricks up his sleeve to make the safe old stand by H-tank. His legs do some interesting maneuvering, but then his feet are just there. The upper torso has a ton of movement during transformation to practically go right back to where it started. After going back and forth twice I found everything clicks in place securely and makes a nice tight tank. Tank mode is pretty dull, but it looks the part and gets the job done.

Bot mode is where this figure shines. Everyone has seen the pics so I won't go into much detail. He looks like Megatron and has all the articulation you could want. His fusion cannon is spot on and pegs securely. He will be my primary Generations leader of the Decepticons.

Let's talk about that gunblade. It's cool and makes a great sword and well gunblade, combines with his main fusion cannon and with all the combat ports adds a lot of pliability. If you're an old fart like me you just wanna peg it on his back and make him all G1 boring and this is where things get ugly. You got two options; blades up, blades down and neither looks good. The peg hole could have also been a little lower. I've chosen blade down because it's easy to do the mental gymnastics to forget there is this thing hanging off his back.

AH HA, but I have a solution... sorta. The blade is held on by a small phillips head screw and is easy to remove and replace. After this it makes a great hand held pew pew and pegs onto his back beautifully. But, it kills the look of the alt-mode. He still transforms, the gun still pegs in, you are just left with a huge hollow area under the turret.

Side note, the blades move together when the screw is nice and tight so be careful when you rotate them.

Overall impressions of Siege Megatron. He's a solid and slightly above par Generations voyager figure and one of the best Megatrons in his class. It's nice that there are no forced gimmicks and he looks the every bit the part. His transformation has a few clever tricks, but is ultimately boring and predictable. Alt-mode is servicable, but bot mode is his strongest characteristic. Even though he has usurped classics and TR as my main Gen Megatron, he just isn't as brilliant as Siege Prime, but still a worthy pick up.

Well there is only one logical conclusion then!

The way his legs are articulated makes him almost infinitely posable. This is the figure (line) that just keeps on giving.
