They were all unreleased decos from that time. That's the theme of this exclusive line. Hence the Sideswipe that's coming will not be the black one we saw back in Siege.
It's a pretty damn nice concept too!
I do wonder. Was Toxitron planned then cancelled for the original Lazer Prime mold?

Yes Toxictron was planned to be done with the original laser prime in the first universe line in the mid 2000s, but was cancelled. There was a good video about his history by either TJomega or Slag podcasts on youtube recently.

All except for him not being from G2 like the rest of the line is. Yet Hasbro decided to name this entire "Toxitron Collection" subline after him.-Kanrabat- wrote:NICE!
So Toxitron follow the theme.

What's funny is that, with Studio Series Gamer Edition, we are now actually at a point where Hasbro is literally making new-mold Generations updates to original Generations toys.AcademyofDrX wrote:"G2 Universe" works better than "Universe Universe." I hope in twenty years Generations does a throwback line that references Legacy. Something like Transformers Generations: Multiverse: Legacy: Evolution: SG Universe: G2 Jazz.

For starters they need to add his name to the tanker, improve the orange ooze and add the gradient to the bottom.
Incidentally, I wonder if the Grimlock reveal was a mistake? They only showed the box and didn't put it up for pre-order, but the email Pulse sent out yesterday accidentally put him on their graphic instead of Toxitron.

Heh, Beast Wars Second did basically the same thing, reusing molds from G1, G2, Beast Wars, and Machine Wars, having a cartoon and less wild color schemes (save for Dirge, his deco was still neon).Dr. Caelus wrote:because while RID 2000 reused molds from G1 to Beast Machines, it tied most of them together with a cartoon and often applied color schemes tamer/saner than the original toys.

(Should that be Transformers Generations: Multiverse: Legacy: Evolution: G2 Universe: SG Jazz? SG Universe (G2 Universe): Jazz? Doesn't each universe have its own corresponding SG Universe?) At any rate, I'm explaining the joke, I actually hope marketing keeps leaning into simplicity even if it doesn't satisfy continuity addicts.

In 20 years we'll be complaining about the new version of Scraphook being unfaithful to the original because we can't take it apart despite being a $50 Deluxe.

You think the price increases will have plateaued by then?

Also, C'mon Hasbro, where the hell is Siege Sunstorm and Bitstream, ER Sunstorm, ER Acid Storm, and the generic lavender ER mold seekers already?

I think Hasbro is being too fixated on accuracy when it comes to new figures based on unreleased toys. I would have liked G2 Sandstorm and Cloudcover to have used the Thrust and Dirge molds respectively.
