So, this picture really cements the idea that these guys are really just more articulated versions of the original toys. I would be more excited for these guys if a). I didn't spend so much on the Crazy Devy upgrades and b). didn't know about MMC's Ferocicons. What's nice is that UT is taking a more hands-on approach to Quality Control and hopefully this guy is a better product than War Hawk. I still feel bad for those who already have War Hawk, with the paint quality being sub-par or any other plastic issues. Does this get addressed in future releases of War Hawk? And what happens with the early adopters, are they just screwed?

Also, why green paint and lights for the feet? It doesn't fit in the Predacons' color scheme and just clashes with everything.

If there was ever a possibility that I pick these guys up someway down the line, it feels like that is less likely after seeing these pictures.

Good call fixing those shoulder cannons and while the final product does look quite nice I still feel MMC's offerings are the best bang for the buck in this case.

Great effort though and if it weren't for MMC I'd be all over this.

oh yeah! the combined form and colours are a definite win. haven't committed to buying either set. still think MMCs look a bit nicer, but don't think I'd be disappointed to have these guys on my shelf.

Looks great but those are definitely not the wings that came with War Hawk. Are they including better ones with future releases or are these just a pre-production tease? These pictured look MUCH better!

Overall, looks like a contender. Like the scale and colors a lot.

I think that's his tail. The wings are intended to attach to the back of War Lord, a-la G1 Predaking.

It took me a minute of looking at pics, but I think DevestaTTor is correct. Those look better. I wonder who they will come with?

'Tis a shame for these guys that MMC came out at the same time. With no competition, I would have been all over this one.

Looking at it again, there's no way those wings can fit War Hawk. They're over the size of his entire torso. Although they do look great on Predaking.

If you look at the images on the first page you will see that War Hawks wings are smaller than those on War Lord. These look like they have been greatly improved, but all initial sizes are still the same.

This just adds to the reasons I prefer MMC's version. These guys are too small, too expensive, don't look that great (not bad, but MMC's are light-years better), Predaking is skinny looking and they couldn't make him with one set of wings

OK the combiner mode looks awesome, the bot modes are fair, but the beast modes really suck. Does anyone else feel Tantrum's bull head is too big and Headstrong's rhino has too much of a coke bottle figure ?

What i mean is that the production for it stopped, there will be no 2nd run for it, and the factory have sold out all remaining UT-w01. So what ever is left in the market, that is it. It will only get less and less from now on, and more expensive. The new member release will drive demand for it up. Continue delay of MMC version will also contribute to UT version demand later on.

In the best of possible worlds, War Hawk would be in production to fix the QC/paint issues experienced during the previous run. There are so many combiner projects with issues now:

War Lord - QC supposedly being addressed but the QC-ridden 1st figure is no longer in production

Uranos - Possible that previous figures (1 - 3) will dry up at some point

Feral Rex - ETA still unknown, but at least 2nd offered figure might be released in the next few months; 1st offered figure (Divebomb) is getting retooled

FP's Stunticons - information about figures had been lagging for months, finally seeing Motormaster pics but release date still not official (but generally known as Sept)

MT's Giant - Green giant scarce, but yellow Giant is still out in the wild (even though yellow was supposed to be the limited version).
