Do you remember that preorder for the Black Ironhide from generations Selects? MSRP on that figure was $24.99. Now, it could have meant two things. One, that while this toy was labelled as a deluxe, the higher price accounted for the extra accessory that didn't come with the Siege Ironhide mold, which was also sold as a deluxe. Two, that the MSRP for deluxes going forward would be 24.99. Well now we have more evidence for the latter. Firstly, we have confirmation from Canadian retailer Toysnowman that Hasbro has announced a price increase to retailers. You can check out their video below, but here are the Canadian prices going forward:
Deluxes 33.99 to 35.99
Voyagers 44.99 to 47.99
Leader 72.99-76.99
Titan 249.99-264.99
Secondly, Marvelous News has reported that Marvel Legends 6" figures will be going up to $24.99. Those toys are usually offered at the same price as deluxe Transformers figures and 6" Black Series Star Wars figures. And that $24.99 is indeed the same price as that Generations Selects deluxe Guard.
We do not have the specifics as to the US price increase for voyager, core class, leader, commander, and titan class Transformers but we are sure to find out soon.
The first core class toys from the Studio Series line have now been found on US shelves. Shockwave and Ravage, both from the Bumblebee Movie, were found at a Texas Walmart which looked really well stocked, especially coming out of the Christmas shipping season. Th photo was posted by @PopCultureJunk2 on Twitter. As can be seen in the picture below, these core class figures were placed on pegs a little off from the main Transformers section, which was too full.
Spike will be in wave 2 and he has already been found in the middle east so that wave could show up soon in other places as well.
The latest Transformers Beast Wars reissue toys have been found at Texas Walmarts. Tigatron was spotted by PopCultureJunk2 who posted their image on Twitter and Scorponok was spotted still in their case by TFfan1984prime who posted their image on the TFW2005 boards. Both of these are Walmart exclusives.
Pretty crazy that we are still only January and the second wave of 2022's Studio Series core class has already shown up at retail. Spike is the only new toy in that wave and we now have some in hand images to share with you. They give us a much better look at the alt mode, and we can see that he indeed does have defined back wheels. The images below come from a review uploaded by Chefatron.
Yeah, that's right. BOTH wave 1 and wave 2 of the Studio Series's core class are available at retail right now, somewhere in the world. For wave 1, which has Ravage and Shockwave, it was found at CanĂ³vanas Walmart in Puerto Rico. The sighting is from Jampy on Facebook. Wave two, which adds 86 Spike to the mix, was found in Dubai just now at Hamleys. That sighting is from Jiggs Ong.
Bulkhead is out in France, so French reviewer TFToybox got a nice first crack at the toy. Below are some fun images he took which show Bulkhead's compatibility with minicons and fossilisers. We also see the very first shot of Bulkhead in truck mode without the tarp. You can check out the full review below. I tend to end news sightings like this saying when this toy should be coming to America, but at this point it can be anytime between tomorrow and June. We know these toys are ready for distribution, we'll see when they come to American shores.
Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian D_Maximal Primal, we have word of a Twitter account (@QueenStodge) posting a picture of the first Wave of Legacy Voyager Class figures at retail in France. This marks the first worldwide sighting of this highly anticipated line. No word on whether or not any other figures in the line were sighted at the same store.
Check out the photo below, and let us know if you see Legacy figures in whatever corner of the world you're in!
We've seen images of these toys already but this is out best look yet at two upcoming Generations Selects figures, Nightprowler and Buzzsaw. Both of these toys have aspects that callback to their portrayals. While the original Waspinator mold had both a mutant and robot face, Waspinator was always shown with his mutant face while Buzzsaw's art always had him with his robot face, hence why this toy has a new head. As for Nightprowler, he was originally supposed to show up in the Universe line, which had Autobots vs Decepticons, even though the line was rereleasing molds from the Beast Wars era. So, this release of Nightprowler is also an Autobot rather than a Maximal.
These images come to us from a Chefatron review.
This one took a while. After being available in limited amounts on the Pulse and Walgreens sites, the Walgreens exclusive Transformers Kingdom Red Alert is now available on Walgreens.com and it does not seem to be in limited amounts like last time. It is available to purchase and ready to ship. The toy is $22.99. It has yet to sell out and it has yet to be seen at brick and mortar locations, so maybe they are simply diverting all their stock of this toy as online only. We'll see. Regardless, we wanted to let you know since many American fans have yet to own this toy. We will all see how long it takes to sell out once this news goes live, we wish you all the best with it!
We thank fellow Seibertornian Sol Magnus for letting us know of a new video review featuring the upcoming Transformers Legacy leader Laser Optimus Prime (G2 Prime). Comparisons to the Earthrise Optimus Prime toy show how only some pieces have been reused. However, it happens to be the same leg pieces from Earthrise Prime that included vestigial flaps from the Siege Optimus mold. You can also see a nice shot of Lazer Prime with G2 Megatron. These images come from the Prime vs Prime review.
