All Wave 1 Transformers Velocitron Figures found in Canada + Video Reviews for Entire Line

There's always an added insecurity when it comes to retailer exclusives. Good news for Canadians though, as of today all figures in the line have been found at Walmart stores. The voyagers were the first to comes out, followed by leader class Scourge, and the deluxes have just been found. Canada is receiving the line in case assortments, which is different than what has been seen in the US and UK. In the UK, it's all solid cases for all classes while in the US, the deluxes are in an assortment but the voyagers are sent in solid cases. The prices are 72.97 for leader, 47.97 for voyagers and 35.97 for deluxes. Those Canadian prices are similar to the US counterparts with the deluxes being the equivalent of $28 USD. Definitely a better price than the $45 Toysrus currently charges for their exclusive deluxe class Transformers.

Sightings are from various provinces (with multiple sightings in Quebec and Ontario), though the image below is from a Montreal Walmart. We also have reviews below pulled from members of our Seibertron community and others.

Scourge

Road Hauler

Override

I got to thinking about Cosmos today and feel it probably was a difficult one to design due to the nature of the alt mode and having almost no room for robot body part storage while in that form. One thing that might have helped with the high top appearance of the center fuselage is for it to have been telescoping into itself? So that while in saucer mode it doesn't look as jarring, on the other hand it does kind of resemble description by some individuals of certain saucer sightings seen in 30's and 40's.

I thinks its accurate enough to what it is, dont know why everyone is complaining.

With it now in hand I have 0 issues with the proportions in alt mode (robot mode was already perfect). It looks like the G1 show. I got to say, this toy feels more of quality than most others this year. I was not overly impressed with anything Legacy wave 1 (just got Scourge to try out the Laser Prime mold and it is so underwhelming) but Cosmos is as good as Transformers get. Before we even get to transformation, the deco is stellar. The green colour used for the plastic feels full (if that makes sense) and the paint apps added work so well that it feels the entire figure is painted in alt mode. And I love getting some magic in my transformation. I got it with the heel transformation which is a perfect example of using the alt mode parts to great effect on the robot mode. The head transformation is exceptionally clever too. He also feels very solid and I like the multipurpose accessory. Best figure from Legacy so far (Blaster is great too, but that guy is from Kingdom).

I Thought the alt mode proportions are what they should be. But laser prime IS a great figure. But I saw scourge a Walmart and can say the deco probably changed your liking of it, it seems very bland in hand. Also, Blaster was planned for legacy but crossed into Kingdom, not the other way around. That's why he has a clear Eject, energon weapons are the gimmick for Legacy.

I hope you don't mind me butting in but I am really not a fan of that original override toy. Cubertron is one of the best lines we've ever gotten, but it had a few clunkers and I find override to be one of them.

I remember back in the day people complaining about the spring-loaded transformation but it never really bothered me, as I said to Counterpunch back then, you never saw a giant hand coming out of the sky to transform the robots. There were touches I liked, like having a hole in the gun to post the central piece into if you want weapon storage and not just in the back of the figure proper. There were some quibbles, like the rubber fins and gun barrels, but I liked it enough to get the GF black version.

thanks for reading my thoughts and sharing your reply. Yes, that's true Blaster was initially a Legacy toy, so he'll be a highlight for both lines. As for Laser Prime, I'd be surprised if it's a deco issue. While yes, there have been toys where a change in deco did make the toy better (Takara's Adventure Slipstream for instance), I thought the Prime deco was dull too. It's not an outright criticism as I know they are copying the original toy which was primarily grey in robot mode, I just happen to find that particular grey dull.

That would definitely explain your love for one steps as well. Many older fans don't realize that just as much care and thought go into that engineering process if not more since it is harder to come up with a transformation that completely changes the figure with so few steps. The same Takara designers who work on the MP line work on those simpler toys too and are as proud of their achievements.

You know, I have a 4 year old, and while he is surprisingly able to transform more advanced toys like Classic Prime and the recent Laser Prime, he has a great passion for one steps and built himself quite the collection too.

I just found out from a Japanese Galaxy Force promo that the reason Override had that spring-loaded transformation was to emphasize her status as the fastest 'bot on Speed Planet. As in, she's so fast that even her transformation is faster than others'.

Very cool and interesting. Doesn't make the toy better though.

(Also, Hot Shot may not have automorph but he can be transforned real fast)

Countries outside the US never know for sure if they will get a line of exclusives until they are found on shelves. So I'm happy to report that Australians have been finding the Velocitron line on shelves. It is a KMart exclusive in Australia and the entire line, from deluxes to the leader, have been found. Many sightings come from the Moreton Bay area, in Queensland. That's where the image below was taken by gollumn6874 who posted it on the TFW2005 message boards. It's interesting how for this particular line, continents from across the globe are getting these and distributing them within their respective stores (be it Smiths, Walmart or KMart) at the same time.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

Walmart moved my pre-order from Blurr from August to November. Luckily we were able to find him in-store.

Sounds like the same nonsense that’s been going on with Walmart preorders for the Netflix assortments over the past few years.

While there are some things I dislike about Scourge, I don't see any issue with the shoulders. Can anyone tell me what about them made some fans not happy?

I guess it's the fact that those giant pilons are now floating shoulderpads instead of being part of the arm in a single block like the original.

I find this silly complaining about that because that new design improves the articulations greatly.

I remember hearing something about that at the time. To think of a transformers line that had more than one gimmick.

Improves? How? On what?

Legacy Laser Prime and the original G2 Laser Prime have effectively the same range of movement on the shoulders.

G2 has the benefit of being able to look to the side when his arm is forward.

There only thing Legacy has over G2 is wrists and thighs.
