Various online toy sellers in Japan have listed the newly announced Takara Transformers movie figures, i.e. UA-01 Jetpower Optimus & UD-01 Megatron.

Japan Toys R Us listed this new movie toy series as "Unite for the Universe".

UA-01 is listed as Jetpower Optimus.
Other information on this figure is listed below:
- Jetpower Optimus is a combined mode of Optimus & Jetfire
- Optimus is able to transform to robot and alternate mode
- Optimus Prime alternate mode is able to tow Jetfire
- Jetfire is able to transform to a bazooka canon for Optimus Prime's Truck
- Jetfire has NO robot mode.

UD-01 is listed as Megatron
Information on this figure is:
- Able to transform to Robot and tank mode
- More movie accurate paint work
- Mechalive features

Hm, the Jetfire/Optimus sounds interesting. But I'm worried that the Megatron will just be a repaint of the current Leader Megs. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Please make me a better Leader Megs, please make me a better Leader Megs. They're basically creating a new Jetfire as an armor pack for OP so it's quite possible that they're going to remold/retool Megatron to maybe give him better arms. That's really all I want. Don't let me down TakTomy

So roughly how much are these in USD? I'm interested, but not if they're expensive. Jetfire's robot mode is the part I don't like about him. Although I don't exactly need another movie Prime... I still haven't found a Megatron I'm happy with.

UA-01 seems very interesting. Jetfire appears to be designed to be more of an accessory and perhaps we'll see a more movie accurate version of Jetpower Optimus Prime.

As far as UD-01 Megatron, if it does indeed have a more movie accurate paint job, I may be interested. If the sculpting of the figure has been updated and improved, I'm definitely interested.

Thats exactly what I thought when I read the description.

I imagine they will treat Jetfire the same way that they did Ultra Magnus in RID (authough without a robot mode of course) and have the figure break up as armor pieces that fit on various spots on Prime.

Also I wonder what size classes these new figures will be. Megs seems to be listed at 3,499 yen, where the Prime/Jetfire pack is 5,999. So they're probably smaller than their leader class figures.

I think that Prime is going to be the standard Prime and Jetfire will be a slightly scaled down version so that things don't appear so bulky. With the price listing for it i'm going with they're pricing it the same as a "Perfect Edition", just a Prime with an interactive trailer type module.

Is there anything to say what scale these figures are? I'm interested anyway, but if they're Leader-Sized, I wonder if they'll be worth getting instead of the current Leaders...(A real seller would be Jetfire's sound chip; I can't stand that pathetic voice on his figure at the moment, it needs to be glorious! Although, considering this new one has no robot mode, it's a slim chance he'll have a voice at all...)

Man I hope that isn't going to be the new trend then, where Prime will just start wearing his underlings like in Armada.

If they fix Megatron's face I'll be happy....his face was way too ugly in the new movie and toys.

I think that Jet-Powered Optimus sounds better than that Asia exclusive 2-pack Prime and Jetfire. And it sounds like Prime might make a decent movie Guiltor. Prime with a giant gun on the back of his truck mode? Yep! Sounds like Guiltor to me.

I think this Megatron will be a new mold.

Here's to hoping for a better Jet-Prime. I realize many like to go on & on about constraints of various types, but the end all is that Leader Class Prime combined with Leader Class Jetfire was a practical display piece.

Me likey the sound of this, it sounds very Hybrid Style Formers. If so, and at a good price I will have to look at this.

Hopefully prime wont be as Fat as he was at the end of the film, if so Ive got a new cast for Weird Al's Fat song

The Prime is the Voyager mold with extra Jetfire armour parts while Megatron is the ROTF Voyager mold with a movie accurate paintjob. We've seen tiny teaser images of them both before.
