Flashwave wrote:Whoah, wait. tThere was a Jeep? Have we ever gottn that mold released?
Only four of the six formerly lost molds were released. The purple car and the jeep were not used, probably due to either the molds still being lost or considered unusable. The rest were first released in RiD as Prowl 2, Spychanger Sideburn, Side Swipe and Daytonus.
While we don't know who they were supposed to be, that red and white car would have most likely ended up as Rumble. And judging from the name on the side, the Jeep would probably have been Hound.

And would have been the only properly named GoBots of all of them (though you could argue about Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and "Megatron").
Anyone know how I can get my hands on the Japanese versions of Optimus, Megatron and Soundwave?

The Gobots? Are they different? I got the Japanese G2 Gobot of Megatron at Botcon one year, but that's because I thought it was completely identical to the US release. As in, only a sticker on the front of the card was different.

They have a large T on the hood of their vehicle mode, I think it says "Transformers" on their windshields, and Soundwave's robot mode uses some different colors.

As a matter of fact they are! The Japanese versions all have Soundwave's Tampograph on their hoods plus Soundwave is basically Gearhead with a bright yellow car shell: in other words, significantly different. Another nice thing to know is that they kept their US names. That's right: the first official use of "Optimus Prime" in Japan was in 1995, not 2007

Edit: Yep, has the tampo. Guess I need to pick up a US one too now. Darn, thought I was done with G2!

It's the thought that counts! Maybe if the gum wrapper has an imprint of Jesus' face, I could auction it to pay for Groove.

In fact, the same seller just recently posted an auction for the unreleased G2 Megatron, the mold that became G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen.
z75sales posted a couple of teaser videos on YouTube showing off this massive assortment of shipping boxes, filled with Hasbro and Kenner (which became a part of Hasbro several years ago) products that have yet to see the light of day. The second video even showcases an all black and orange prototype of Beast Wars Transmetals Optimal Optimus!
You can see all of their auction listings by clicking here, and while you're there, go ahead and bookmark it because you don't want to miss what he has coming next!

If so, it's their own fault because...

This would be the smart way to do it. The eBay seller is probably brokering the deal and gets a certain percentage of the sale amount.
I don't know this to be true, but it would make the most sense.

That's a very uneducated statement to make. How do you know how rich this guy is or where they stand financially? Also Botcon? Because Botcon is a non-profit organization?

Or how about getting items like these into the hands of someone who photographs Transformers for a living so that these items can be shared with the rest of the world?

No need to be angry about it man. I can't afford this stuff either, but I don't begrudge anyone picking this stuff up for a moment just because they can. I'll share my chill pills if you'd like one.

So give them to Bot con so they can be trashed out after words?
Nah i think the best thing is either doing what he is doing right now or give them to a site like Seibertron so we can get photos
actually can any one on seibertron buy a few of these and either give or let the person who takes the galleries images (who is amazing by the way) borrow the the figures and take pictures for them.
Wish i had the money and means to get them and donate them to you Seibertron.

This collection of G1 figures are interesting. It should be noted that all of them were used in the European Classics line or the Generation 2 line, with the exception of a small handful such as Dreadwind, Darkwing, Cyclonus, Blitzwing, the Cassettes, Soundwave, and maybe a couple of others. I wonder if they had plans to release those figures in some other way or what the intention with these was.

This will happen before the WWE Hall of Fame has a real location. I'm very curious how much the mass release G1 figures go for.

The only ones that are disappointing in price to me are the Mini-Bots. Most of them go for $10 to $15, with the exception of Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Bumblejumper.

Except for Motormaster was never released. To the best of everyone's knowledge, there are no carded samples of G2 Hot Shot or G2 Motormaster either. If they aren't in the z75sales collection, then they most likely don't exist.
