First up from fellow Seibertronian doublej102, we have a good review of Deluxe Class Snarl, showing off all the great detail on the figure.
And from regular Youtube reviewer Peaugh, we have a nice look at Deluxe Class Sludge!
Moving right along, we have a review from YouTubers 2toyboys, of the lone fembot (and shortpacked figure) in the Wave, Moonracer! While showing no transformation for her, they do show her off in combined mode as an arm.
And last, but not least, we have our first Deluxe Terrorcon of the Power of the Primes line, Rippersnapper, from YouTuber Shaxitron.
Take a look at these reviews and let us know what you think of these new Wave 2 figures! You can also help out your fellow Seibertronians by reporting your sightings of these figures in your local sightings forums and on each toy's individual page.

I don't know what Wave 1's official release date was, but tons of people (in the states, at least) had their Wave 1 Legends and Deluxes before Christmas.
This is nothing new and happened in CW and TR as well. The "official" release date is really just an estimate on when the toys should hit full saturation. So anything that is intended for Q1 of any year will start leaking out in late Q4 of the year before.
The Combaticons were wave 5 of CW, which was slotted for Q1 of 2016 but started showing up before Christmas of 2015. Wave 3 of TR was slotted for Q1 2017 but started showing up before Christmas of 2016. Just like PotP wave 1 last Christmas.

You mean because he's that crappy.

I mean they went all out on squeezing every ounce out of the molds that they could in CW, then had more individual changes in TR with only a handful of molds getting only a new head re-deco without additional tooling changes, and now even fewer straight up redecos in PotP.
They are basically putting out fewer toys at a higher expense to develop them in each line. It just doesn't make sense to me. It seems like they left a lot of potential $$$ on the table.
Something must have happened to change their overall direction somewhere in the middle of TR. I wonder if it is something as dumb as just wanting each line to fit within a year or some other corporate type decision?

if they didnt do it that way with predakings upper legs attached to the lower legs razerclaw would end up being a leader class size but i still think predaking is going to be a bit shorter than devastator for being a titan class
Thats horrible. This is why parts integration sucks. I would rather those things just pop off so you can throw em in a box when not combined. Looks like ill be staying happy with Feral Rex and skipping Hasbroking.
I agree. I'd rather the thighs be separate pieces like hands and feet. Was there an actual reason to have them attached rather than removable? My best guess is having them attached provides better stability in combined mode so there is the trade off. As ugly as it is if I can get it on a good sale I'm going for it.
I think we could see some boxed sets to end PotP. If Monstructor is basically good to go then he could be an end of line boxed set or he could fit into the War for Cybertron line coming next. The Seacons would also make an excellent end of line boxed set, even better than Monstructrot because the latter is supposed to have a torso made of two deluxe figures and I have seen little from

Since I'm waiting for the big end of year sales to hopefully get Predaking I can wait for

You have to remember that a lot of the toys put out in POTP are reusing pre-existing tooling and engineering. A lot of resources were put into the new combiner system and they are still reaping off it here. The aerialbot tooling has been used so often, that Dreadwind probably cost nothing to make

Plus, while we didnt have any straight up redecos for leaders in TR's mainline, one of the only 4 Leaders in POTP is just a redeco with a new head. We only had redecos that "lazy" in boxsets.

We have Prima, Nexus Prime, and Amalgamous Prime.
So we know the Waverider mold exists, and is an Autobot. Chances are they will try to keep it with an Autobot pack if so (but precedent has been set with Grotusque that it doesn't have to). I think Prima goes with Waverider, but beyond that, I am unsure. My guess is, being an Autobot, it's more along the lines of the Arcee/Grotusque release than a boxset.
Nexus Prime, is commonly referred to as the first combiner. This is where I think a Boxset with Monstructor/Dinoking or the Seacons come in. At this point I see the Seacons as less likely than Dinoking/Monstructor.
I'm having a hard time deciding which of the 2 it would be though (between Dinoking/Monstructor). On one hand, we saw Wildfly's head on Cutthroat, which is more in line with Monstructor. But the guns on Snarl, suggest Doryu of Dinoking. What I think they may try to do is keep the names of the Monstructor bots, but go with the easy fits for the actual figures. Wildfly -> Cutthroat retool, Scowl -> Snarl retool, Slog -> Grimlock retool, Icepick -> Blot retool, Bristleback -> Slug retool, Birdbraid -> Cindersaur/Slash retool (if even included). The flipside is it could be a straight up Dinoking, using the Monstructor names, and the Wildfly head on Cutthroat was to test it in the mold in general (remember Cutthroat and Swoop are "co-tools"). Tbh, I would be ok either way.
Amalgamous, maybe he's coming with the rumored Repugnus?
The flip-side, is that maybe, just maybe, there is more to Wave 4 than has been revealed. Maybe we will get a few more legends and Prime Masters. Only 3 Prime Masters left if Onyx is exclusive to Predaking, which is easy to fit in a single wave.
Also, I kinda wish whoever was interviewing John Warden could have asked some questions about the shortened structure of PotP. Like, if the plan was always to keep it shortened, or if happened later in the design/planning process. I would love to know what they wanted to do if they had a full 6 waves.

That TRU Thundercracker uses the Movie Nitro mold. Why they couldnt instead do a Thunderwing redeco, I have no clue.
I dont know why is always thundercracker.
First MP11 mold to get US distribution: Thudercracker
First Gen Leader Seeker Revealed: Thundercacker
Big TRU Exclusive of 2018: Thundecracker
Oh yeah, this also means that there is now 0 evidence toward them repainting the POTP Voyager starscream into the other seekers.

So who knows? Maybe if the Seacon or Monster Pretenders DO appear in later Generations line, they'd be made from at-that-point years-old molds.

The smallest Prime Masters and decoy suits include Bomb-Burst with Megatronus, Bludgeon with Quintus Prime, and Octopunch with Solus Prime; the Legends class include Tailgate (who shares the mold with Windcharger) and the Duocons Battleslash and Roadtrap, combining into Roadtrap; the Deluxes are the mold-sharing Novastar (Firestar to you and me) and Moonracer; Voyager wise we have triple changing - Elita-Infin1te combiner torso, robot and jet - Elita-1; and finally Leader with evolution gimmick for Optimus Primal and Optimal Optimus. Check them all out below, in official renders and artwork, and browse out galleries for a close look!

Except those "exclusives" are often not available to fans outside of the US unless they're willing to fork out a shit tonne of money.
It would be further indication that Hasbro just don't give a fuck about international fans.

Are we counting China? becuse they get some pretty sweet things. Asia gets the toys earlier than others (usually), and China was the only place where the first wave of Cyber Battalion figures were available at a decent price. Plus there was the GDO line, along with the Prime First Edition line which arrived almost eveywhere except for the US. That was prepetuated in the recent RID line. And finally, countries like Canada and Australia had the Combiner Wars boxsets fond in stores while they were only available online in the US.
Plus, I found Cogman and TR Wave 5 at retail, for about 10-12$ each while that is a faint dream for any American who will have to pay double for them.

So does this mean inferno isn't happening? What about project storm? Seems odd to leave those things out and save them for SDCC when they'll most likely be focusing on War for Cybertron.
Whoa there, slow down those pessimistic thoughts!
First of, Inferno is still happening in Wave 3, (early) Summer. Secondly, we still have a Wave or 2 in all Classes that's unknown to us (the possible Wave 5 would be a tight squeeze, unless the WFC Trilogy is scooted up a Wave or if's released side-by-side. We can hope!). Finally, we haven't even hit Spring, let alone the half-year mark.
Project Storm is nothing more but the Authentics, as explained before.
*brings out more tissues after the images*
War for Cybertron starts in January of 2019, there are typically 4 waves in a year and Novastar is the only new figure in wave 4 as shown in the original leaks. There's no reason to believe that any new figures have yet to be revealed for potp besides exclusives.
Wave 4 of the Deluxes, but the other Classes only had 3 leaked.
Which could just mean that there are no other classes in wave 4. Much like wave 6 of Titans return.
I said it when the leak was first leaked. We're not getting anything more than what was leaked.
I think we're ALL getting a little ahead of ourselves. To my knowledge, no official source has ever said that Wave 4 will be the last of the Power of the Primes. In fact, I would say that there is no reason to believe that Novastar is the only Wave 4 figure.
We KNOW that we have to get ALL of the Prime Masters, right? Even IF Onyx ONLY comes with Predaking, (which would be unfortunate, but I can NOW see that happening) that STILL leaves four more Prime Masters. That leaves AT LEAST one more wave of Prime Masters.
Given that everything that is "officially" revealed was in that Big Leak (which didn't specify waves for Deluxes) I think they're just playing catch-up. Hasbro tries to reveal-things-without-revealing-things all the time. But, given the fallout after the PotP leak, they clearly did not intend for this leak to happen.
I think there is still a decent amount of PotPs ahead of us. Not ENOUGH, mind you... I think it probably will fizzle out the same way that Titans Return did... :/
I HAD a theory that between exclusives and box sets, we would get special editions of all Prime Masters (the likes of Blast Off) without Pretender Shells. Less confident about that, now.
But, I could be wrong. I just think we should all chill out for a sec.
I'm leaning towards box sets to complete the line.

As we are here though, Cogman was around 20 dollars at Amazon Japan and at Yamada Denki in Japan, when I looked, which is probably "cheap" for my area of the woods.

Roadtrap is every bit as fidgety as Legends Wheelie in vehicle mode. You get a side panel in place and the back part splits, you get that part together and half the front window pops up. Pretty frustrating even with the built in locks inside the front wheels that are supposed to keep everything together. Bot mode is alright, his legs look stumpy thanks to the windows, but standing him next to Bumblebee the leg joints are all in the same place. Annoying alt mode aside, he's OK.
My Roadtrap is nowhere near the mess/embarrassment that is Titans Return Wheelie.

They should do a subline of this new style of duo-con, think that would go a long way, especially if they were interchangeable with each other, kind of like a neo-energon, only the lines gimmick would be 'not being crap'

It would be awesome if they matched up with micromaster combiners somehow. Like an oil truck splits into two halves with individual robot modes and then can combine into a third larger robot.
Or they could do the entire Landcross set.
I know that's G1 related, but the ideas doesn't have to be G1, just some ideas to try to entice these G1-centric creators to do more of them.

I think this would be a great interpretation of micromasters, no one wants a tiny figure that turns into a tanker trailer, but two different tanker trucks with great bot modes then combining into an awesome bot, I can get behind that

I think keeping them small helps make the imperfections less egregious, but that's just me, larger figures - I think - would mean more of an attempt to add kibble, which means more kibble to store in combined mode, I think scout class is where it's at, and that's my reasoning

I know that's G1 related, but the ideas doesn't have to be G1, just some ideas to try to entice these G1-centric creators to do more of them.
...And of course, Flywheels...with huge freakin feet...
I think this would be a great interpretation of micromasters, no one wants a tiny figure that turns into a tanker trailer, but two different tanker trucks with great bot modes then combining into an awesome bot, I can get behind that
There were also the Japanese "Multiforce", which were similar to the current POTP Duocons:

I think it would be cool to get a cw liokaiser retool, with elita 1 (cuz the jet mode finally works - and as there's no fiction surrounding them, I'm fine with making the leader a female) as the new leader, a new combiner head, and retooled limbs... (dat tank with arms tho)

We know the real version will look like this:
No black outline, probably no yellow paint, and it looks like his arms will be black if the art is accurate.

And they're normal knees hidden behind armor, not weird mid-thigh knees like it appears in some photos.
Skritz wrote:So who knows? Maybe if the Seacon or Monster Pretenders DO appear in later Generations line, they'd be made from at-that-point years-old molds.
The age of the molds doesn't seem to bother Hasbro that much. They did go back to the 2015 Air Raid/Skydive mold for Dreadwind and Blackwing in 2018 after all. I'll be surprised if they don't have plans to visit some PotP molds again by the end of 2021.

Prime Masters suits have small handles on the weapon parts so they can hold them themselves. That's all Bludgeon and Octopunch are doing, though they're taking the same liberties with Bludgeon's weapon as they did with Optimus Primal's swords.

This is what I really hope happens. Personally I'd rather have box sets with a mixture of different characters instead of Combiners, like the Titans Return sets, but I'd be happy if the last three Prime Masters just came with exclusive Deluxes as well.
Except those "exclusives" are often not available to fans outside of the US unless they're willing to fork out a **** tonne of money.
It would be further indication that Hasbro just don't give a **** about international fans.
Blame the retailers for not carrying the toys in your countries in mass quanities. Blame your government for using import taxes for profit making. Blame the local culture in your countries for not attracting enough fans to make toy sales profitable. But dont blame Hasbro. Their job is to make the toys and they are doing their job. Its not Hasbros fault if your countries make the hobby difficult.

For months, I've been trying to look for Overlord, but he's not in stores. Nor is he on Amazon. I also want to get Blitzwing, but the price for him is just ridiculous!

Don't blame Hasbro, coming from YOU of all people, that is fucking hilarious.
As for the rest, yeah, okay mate. You know jack and shit about Australia so shoosh. Given your constant criticism of Hasbro, the fact you would come up with a defense for them like that is clear indication you've taken up a new career in comedy. Best of luck with it!

Dude its not about defending Hasbro. Its about calling you out on a statement you made thats total bullshit...the same way you would do me.
Hasbro will ship out as many pallets of transformers as your TRU management is willing to buy. Its not Hasbros fault if TRU Australia doesnt want to invest in the franchise. Obviously people down under arent digging transformers enough. How the hell is that Hasbros fault? Its up to you guts to make the hobby a success or a failure. Create more fans that will buy more toys and the retailers will invest. Its that f**king simple.
On to the extreme price gouging. Obviously living on an island has a downside that effects the cost of "importing". But then again. the toys are all made in Asia (even takara versions) Does Japan have a problem getting shipments of transformers from China? Not really. So thats your government making it hard on imports from China...not Hasbro.
Import customs taxes on ebay purchases....something im so glad we dont have to deal with in the united states. But once again, thats your governments fault, not Hasbros.
Last but not least, culture differences. If nobody wants to be a fan why should TRU stock the shelves or work out deals to bring down prices? Get more fans willing to buy or deal with obscurity. Its like me complaining that no pet shop in Miami wants to sell f**kin wallabies as pets. Your an online news guy. Stop complaining and get a shit load of Austrailian fans to sign a petition and deliver it to TRU Australias headquarters. Try and write to corporate. Do something...

THANK YOU! I've been watching this POTP thread for a while now, and it seems like this is one of those details that most people seem to have missed. I'm not sure where this notion that we're not getting a general retail Onyx Prime came from, but it's really bizarre.
Actually, scratch that. Seems to me like it's been going hand-in-hand with the rumor that POTP is ending with Wave 4 (aka just Novastar). As someone in the thread mentioned earlier, we're basing a LOT of POTP speculation purely off of one leak that Hasbro clearly didn't intend on having to ever deal with. It seems to me that revealing all of the leaked toys is an attempt at damage control. I'd say it's possible that we're seeing toys that weren't supposed to be revealed until much later, Novastar and the Wave 3 Prime Masters being possible examples. I also don't seem to recall Toy Fair EVER being where Hasbro revealed everything they had in store for a toyline. Usually they save later reveals for other conventions.
There's also the fact that we still have three Prime Masters who need toys, those being Nexus Prime, Amalgamous Prime, and Prima. All three of them have had cards showcasing their powers attached to other toys. Hell, I got a Nexus Skrapnel card packaged with my Legends Skrapnel toy. I don't see why Hasbro would have made that card if there was no intention on making the Prime Master to correspond with it. It simply does not add up, unless plans for the line changed at the VERY last minute. While it's possible this could have happened, that is such an eleventh hour change to make, and one that would likely be very costly to do.
I'm sorry if this rant comes across as hostile as it was not my intention to be hostile, but I'm starting to get rather annoyed at some of the massive assumptions being made in this thread.
