Here is a quote from the website:
Throughout the day, Di Bonaventura talks with smiles," Our greatest mission is to the audience To be satisfied, "to meet the expectations of the audience." To that end, he and his colleagues are already working on a new series. "We are already working on two projects and are in the process of writing a script. One is the latest in the main family series following Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee So, we are thinking of works where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddy (buddy), but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists ... how human beings get involved in their drama In the first place, the size is different between human beings and theirs .... It's a worrying point (laughs).
This of course puts the whole kibosh on fans wanting a complete reboot. Of course, the fact that the same producer overseeing the entire franchise at Paramount had confirmed that there was no reboot all along was also a pretty good hint.

Please no. No sequel to the Last Knight. It was the worst one yet in a parade of garbage that has gotten progressively worse with each film. Please no. These are trash films that can only be enjoyed by mocking them and watching them as a joke. The characters all act like they are high on cocaine, the robots aren't even treated as characters, the stories contradict themselves, the scripts are banal, the humor isn't funny to anyone but stoned frat boys, the women are objectified and there are racist and misogynist themes throughout.
Also, they are aggressively stupid.
Please, just make them stop.
Bumblebee sequel —
Okay, I'll go to that.

Last Knight built up to Unicron, if they're keeping the old continuity then that has to be where they go next, it's literally the only move they have, and I cannot see a way for them to do Justice to Unicron without destroying the Earth.
This was one of my few issues with Prime; Unicron is the big, planet eating devil of the transformers Mythology and by making him the core of earth they removed any chance of him fulfilling the classic role.
It's almost Ironic, the Aligned universe maintains Unicron's Evil space god role, but completely deviates from the real Unicron imagery, for the worse in my view, while IDW nailed a modern take on Unicron's appearence, but then eliminated his Evil God thing (the final nail in the 'deconstruct all transformer mythology' the last year or so of the old universe seemed to focus on) and made him a weapon of vengeance against Cybertron.
Can't we just get Unicron with all the best bits. Well obviously not in the films unless they actually do destroy the Earth.
Hey, maybe they'll reboot after that, I mean IDW hit reboot after doing Unicron, And with the corner they're painted into they have no choice, they could even have it that destoying Unicron caused some qauntum surge and caused the timeline to reset, with the slast shots of the film being Cybertron as seen in Bumblebee. For that with Bumblebee 2, since last I heard official word now say it is a different timeline, can they retcon that he didn't scan a Camaro, or changed his mind and re-scanned a Beetle, please, Bumblebee Bumblebee may not have been a perfect representation of G1 Bee, but he was still the best Bumblebee we've had, because Bee is meant to be the little guy, the small car, there are litterally dozens of autobots that can turn into big cars, give us our Bug back!

Well there will almost certainly be a different director attached and probably a new writer.

Honestly I don't blame Bay for TLK being so bad-I lay that blame at the feet of the "writers' room" (and also Izabella, AKA the WORST human character in the movieverse, which is saying something). Keep Bay and give him a decent writer to work with and IMO you have a good chance of a good movie.
Of course Knight as director would be better, but I'd take Bay.

I still dont get how any of this matters to anyone. The Bumblebee movie proved that you can still make a film everyone will enjoy without needing a complete reboot. You can still have humans, still have the military, and even have bayverse faces and its ok.

Building on the terrible foundation of the Bayverse will result in an utter collapse of the TF movie franchise. By not starting fresh and ignoring the power of nostalgia the next movie may be the last. Instead of starting a cinematic universe, they'll choke it to death.
Good luck with that shit...

Yes, the G1 cartoon had silly episodes. It churned out a lot of ideas to fill out episodes, and a lot of those were bad/stock 80s (especially season 2). It was made on a dodgy budget and it doesn’t always look good.
Transformers 1-5 are still terrible and a waste of the Transformers.

The 2007 movie was phenomenal. ROTF was acceptable. DOTM was bad. AoE was disapointing. TLK was trash. Then, Bee movie turn back the clock and brought back greatness. Let's hope the downward spiral won't repeat itself.
At least the movies brought something amazing and it was new design styles and engineering for the toys. Now if the movies can remain as good as 2007 and Bee, we are in for something awesome down the line.

Ha, there is no extra info that would help. The Bee movie came out and everyone involved in making it stated very clearly that it was a prequel and that not everything needed to match up perfectly since it never did anyway.
And still, we have people using the word reboot. In any case, to answer your question, the word reboot was only ever used by fans wishing the bayverse was dead. Any official word coming from paramount is that Bumblebee is a stand alone film within the live action tf franchise. And yes, it can spawn off more stories, there is a sequel being done. But still, no reboot.

Yes that movie does use the song but the lyrics are what matters here
"Brother, my brother
Tell me, what are we fighting for?
We've got to end this war
We should love one another
Oh, can't we just pretend
This war never began
We can try
Brother, my brother
We face each other from different sides
The anger burns can't remember why
It's kind of crazy to cause such pain
Our foolish pride makes us hate this way
We watch our world fall apart
Tell me what good is winning
When you lose your heart
Brother, my brother
Tell me, what are we fighting for?
Isn't life worth so much more?
We should love one another
Oh, can't we just pretend
This war never began
Tell me why
Brother, my brother
Yes
We can try
Brother, my brother
Yes
Let's take a moment and look deep inside
And say we're willing to give love a try
We're not as different as we seem to be
There's so much more to me than what you see
You don't have to be this way
Think about the consequences
Turn around and walk away
Brother, my brother
Tell me, what are we fighting for?
Isn't life worth so much more?
We should love one another
Oh, can't we just pretend
This war never began
Tell me why
Brother, my brother
Yeah
Tell me why
Brother, my brother
Oh, what are we fighting for?
Isn't life just worth so much more?
Love one another (Tell me why, oh)"
I mean it sounds like the perfect finale song for a franchise who's modern theme is about war and the dangers of it

Oh come on Dinobot, not you too. Did you even read that article before posting it? As it turns out, there is no quote saying it is a reboot. There isnt even a quote
And yet the article wrote a clickbait title like that and people just blindly passed it along without realizing they were propogating fake news brought about by piss poor journalism.
The misinformation from those articles was started by TFW, who are currently not newsing this new Bonaventura interview. I guess because that would mean they wrote a BS article all along which spread to major news outlets, and no one wants to admit that.
