cybertron itself looks great but the characters - i dunno between the over use of glowing parts and bumble bee looking like some clown costume - the actual transformers' look and feel bugs me a bit - they give me the feel of cardboard cut outs - actually they remind me a lot of the original g1 box art -
i hope they'll look better in game alos feel will be important too

Sodan-1 wrote:That image of Starscream with a mace is ridiculous. I don't like the emphasis they've put on melee combat in this game. I know Prime and Megatron used a hatchet and a mace in the first ever episode, but I always thought that was daft. Why would you bother with a sword or an axe when everyone carries a blaster? I've always loved Transformers for being fairly militaristic, and when was the last time you saw a marine running across a battlefield with nunchucks?
i always justified it in my head that blasters are energy beam weapons that can be counteracted with energy shields and deflectors whereas physical weapons like swords and maces can do more damage on impact

Double post, bah. Sorry, I wish I knew how to delete posts if that's possible.

To respond to your "marines with nunchuks" question, couldn't tell you because most special ops missions are still classified...
But here's some logical conclusions:
1. Unlike us, TFs carry built-in armor, preventing one-hit kills. Combined with the leader's ability to form shield bubbles, the situation frequently arises where melee is required.
2. The ability to transform and dash at speeds faster than running, frequently with a smaller profile.
2.5 The oft-seen movie/TV scene where, once in melee range, the weapon is pushed away with an arm (thereby being rendered ineffective) and the combatants start punching. Don't marines carry knives for this very reason?
3. No good computer shooter seems to escape melee weapons. Chainsaws and knives frequent the genre already. Maces, axes and morning stars just add variety to the in-close/sneaky kill toys...
4. They gotta carry something for when they're out of ammo... even though self-powered robots should never run out of ammo...
Meanwhile, I'm starting to get a definite "Battlefield Heroes" vibe from this game - a lot of the abilities seem cloned straight from that game - stealth, dashing, push-away fields, etc. All TF-WfC is missing is the thrown explosives...

I can't wait any longer for this game though! Could they release it, oh I dunno. Tomorrow maybe?
