Can't wait for this guy!

The only time I regret not being able to afford a MP figure. He looks so good. Him and Cheetor both. Kill me if they make a Rhinox.

I really don't like this character/line/figure but I'm sure as hell not missing getting him! The engineering and design, even from just the image....

meh...I'm content with the original BW version. That was a damn good figure.

Man, I was content to skip the Beast Wars MP line but these photos make it hard!

How's the arm poseability?

The boxed pic is so tiny I can't make out that first Kanji in his rank. I can tell the rest of it is 司令官 ("Shireikan"), meaning "Commander", but that first Kanji is too small for me to read.

It doesn't look like 総 ("Sō") to me, which is the Kanji in 総司令官 ("Sōshireikan") that means "Supreme Commander", the rank commonly attributed to Autobot and Maximal leaders in Japan.

Aww, I too was going to skip BW-MP figures but I can't. Looks like a fun figure.

Found a larger look at the box on Dengeki Hobby's website. Turns out it is 総司令官 ("Sōshireikan") after all.

That's just the white of his robot mode legs catching the light, thank god. I preordered mine from BBTS. I have the Planet of Junk Platinum set and Takara Windblade in my Pile of Loot, I'm waiting for a couple more things to come in and as soon as Primal is paid for I'll ship the pile out.

I'll be holding off until December to ship my next POL out. But man, this guy makes it very tempting...

Has anyone gotten any ship notification if you preordered from a Japanese seller? The release date was supposed to be October right?

I didnt get a ship notification. But none of us would, because the toy gets released on the last day of october and you only get a shipping notifiction when its in stock.

Due to massive financial setbacks this year, I haven't been able to preorder this figure at all yet. Is there a place that has him still available for preorder and for a good price?

That depends on what a good price is for you, and whether or not you want the version with the die-cast mace or not.

No, it will only be available from chinese sellers on the aftermarket once the item is released.

I just thought of something, I know Cobo doesnt like this MP Primal because while it is accurate to the CG1 model, it doesnt really represent a real life gorilla. And thats fair, especially when even the original toy had sculpted fur.

BUT by going that way, does that mean that an MP Dinobot should be feathered for it to reflect how those dinosaurs really look like?

The books have been rewritten and there is now a nice new demand for paleo artists who have to draw new images featuring these dinosaurs as feathered.

PS: What kind of blows though is that now when I walk into a baby store and they have these dino themed puzzles by melissa and Doug, its all innacurate and based on very dated designs. Obviously, since I want my Dinobot to look like he does in the show, none of this maters, but I would like my daughter to grow up knowing the facts. Its like if I was giving her a flat map of the earth instead of a globe to show her how the world is shaped.

Even the awesome MP Grimlock is based on the previously wrong interpretation of the T-Rex. Grimlock admits to that in:

He looks a tad taller. Maybe more MP Hot Rodimus-sized?

Going by Red Alert's / Sideswipe's height, MP Primal seems to be about Hot Rod's height, which would make him significantly smaller than the original Optimus Primal:

In that pic you posted, Hot Rod looks to be of comparable height to the original Primal toy.

Hot Rod's head comes up to about Primal's mouthplate. Primal is wider and heavier. I doubt the MP is going to be that wide and heavy. so yes, he will in fact look smaller than the original toy.

That said, I got the 10 day warning from BBTS today for this guy to come in, and I'd rather have him sooner than later. Can finally ship my PoL!

I'm with you. The box is the main draw not the mace. Btw, Energon banana or Primal converts organic material to energon?
