Heh, the Japanese are calling the Mega Turbo Changer Dragonstorm as "Big Speed Change Dragonstorm".

No need to quote the post just above, but the '07 Premium version is far more... premium than this Tribute version.

Via Simon Chan on Facebook, we get to peek in the contents of Figure King #234, which feature both Takara's versions of The Last Knight figures and Legends (which will be featured in a separate article). In this issue, the focus is on Takara's take on Hot Rod, Infernocus, the Toys "R" Us exclusives Cybertron, Deluxe Megatron, and Skullitron, Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee, and Calibur Optimus Prime! The images of the issue has been mirrored below for one's viewing convenience.

I really hope I can get the Optimus two pack, the Leader Optimus, and Deluxe Bumblebee 3 pack soon and in good prices/availability. Hasbro's announcements tend to get inconsistent.

I rather like the idea of this mould decorated in the 2007 deco - as then the flames on the roof would add a bit of needed detail to the robot shoulders and add some visual interest and it would be a nice change from the default deco - also the orange weapons would match the orange paint accents on the hood then too.

They are indeed awesome. Bah.. my figures look like crap on a regular shelf now I seen how they could look in actual battle scenes lifted from the films.


I like Bumblebee's stance in this photo. Like he's about to fight or break out some awesome dance moves. Really cool figure but damn I wanna paint those grey bits to look metally nooowww! His hands and feet should have some yellow in places too but I got paint for that also.

Speed Change Scorn seems to do the thing more convincingly than the cars do judging by these pics.

Scorn seems have a rather upside down view in dino mode, and on his belly to boot.

(can't find a pic of it and most other people turn the head around but I found one of the same Macross mold that shows it)


Works cos it's a visor and not a goofy face. And works for Scorn there too I guess cos he's very much the same sorta visor-face looking robot.

To me it looks like this time prohibits to do better versions of their products. Only paintjobwise of course.

Not the case at all. They are independent companies. Takara could do whatever they want with these and for some reason Takara RARELY chooses to do something drastically different when it comes to most movie toys. Its usually just the Hasbro toys with a sticker on it, just like these toys.





Basically, this has been happening since day 1 for movie toys and yet it seems fans keep forgetting.

Yes it has been, but later waves had more noticeable changes and their own releases at times. Movie 1 Incinerator comes to mind.

I guess. Sometimes they have plastic difference colours like on Deluxe DotM Ironhide. But then they also like to make lil extra mold improvements like with RotF Buster Prime and ArmorKnight (and later Calibur) Prime.

I still miss my Black 2007 Arcee I got imported from Japan. I love that 'biker chick' mold and that colour scheme was great.

I totally agree, but I am not talking about those. Those are their own releases. I am speaking just of the Takara versions of Hasbro toys. AD 01 is the Takara counterpart of Hasbro's AOE leader Prime, not AD 31, which came out way later.Here is Takara's AOE Leader Prime (AD 01) compared to the Hasbro counterpart and you will see what I mean:

Yeah, Takara's looks better. Bigger better flames (particularly noticable in truck mode), better chest paint, the head is properly painted with the silver details.

Thanks to Snakas' Blog, we've got images of a new Transformers: The Last Knight toy released as a free gift through the September issue of Japan's TV Magazine -- Burning Megatron! Molded entirely in red plastic with some gold detailing, this redeco of the previously-released Legion-class TLK Megatron comes bundled with a few cardboard cutouts of TLK Optimus Prime, Squeaks, Bumblebee, Drift and Grimlock to fight. Take a look at the images below and tell us if you plan on getting your hands on this in the forums!

TV-Magazine (テレビマガジン Terebi Magazin or "Televi-Magazine") and TV-Boy (てれびくん Terebikun "Televi-Kun", note the different kana used) are the two main boys' magazines that Transformers appear in. Being boys' magazines, they're filled contemporary TV series and movies for younger boys, including Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and others.

I got Movie Advanced Hound Slog, Snarl and Black Knight Optimus Prime because I really liked the superior coloration of the versions. And I'm still thinking about getting their AoE Scorn even though my TLK Scorn is already on the way.

Previously, TakaraTomy has offered the Temenos Sword and the Gold Vector Shield. Now, we have news of some new promotions!

Starting September 16th, any shopper that buys more than 2000 Yen (about $18-$19 USD) worth of Last Knight toys in participating Japanese stores will get a DVD containing the stop-motion sequences and transformation videos TakaraTomy has created to promote the movie line.

Come the month after, and we're back to vacuum-metalized accessory giveaways. In October, another 2000+ Yen purchase will get you the Bronze Calibur Axe, a presumably bronze version of the axe included with the TakaraTomy Calibur Optimus Prime, which is based on the axe that Prime wielded in the Dark of the Moon film. In November, spend another 2000+ Yen and you get two weapons: Optimus' Gold Temenos Sword and Megatron's Gold Battle Axe. Apparently Megatron prefers more blunt (and somewhat inaccurate) names for his weapons.

If you spend about 3,000 yen at Toys R Us Japan (i think), you get a cardboard display diorama (a piece of folded card and a metal support, displaying computer graphic readouts out stuff like that). There's a circle/crosshairs in the middle of the "floor" used to position the toy to stand on.

Any comparison shots between the and TLK Leader Megatron?

Ok, I'll take some photos of the cardboard diorama later. I don't know for sure if it's for 3,000 yen, as my girlfriend got it for me. I'll ask her before uploading it. I'll probably pose a few TFs on it to show the scale, too and they too post a fairly "scan" line set of images so others can hopefully make their own version.

Also courtesy of Loopaza Mega Store on Facebook, we have a look at the Transformers section of Figure King magazine, issue #236, with the predominantly Takara Tomy TLK lines. Featured in the scans are the big Dragonstorm in both TLK 30 and TLK 31 versions - check it out below.

Leader class Prime sitting on the simplified Dragonstorm looks pretty neat.
