It appears that someone at the Masterpiece factory misplaced their lunch and accidentally brought home a copy of the upcoming TakaraTomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-28 Hotrod instead of his Lunchables. Seibertronian Cyberpath has shared with us a pic of Hotrod stuffed in a sandwich bag with his accessories. Unfortunately that's all we get to see for now, but hopefully this means there are more to come. Until then, stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

Looks like pictures of Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-28 HotRod has been popping up all over the place on the internet over in Asia and this time Thanks to Runaway clouds on Baidu, we get our first look at MP Hot Rod's Packaging as well as another image of Hot Rod's underside in his Alt mode. Due to be release in late February of this year MP-28 will be in the hands of collectors very soon. Check out the images below and let us know how exited (or not) you are to add him to your Masterpiece collection!

Maybe the clear plastic for the windshield is just part of a production sample? It looks bluer and more opaque on the box itself.

You dont mind the screws diggin into his wrists? I am having quite a bit of trouble with that now that I see these in hand images. Takara usually uses coloured screws to make them as innocuous as possible so I am really surprised this was the best they could do, for an MP.

I dont think its that bad. But this doesnt look like the MP line I know where every figure felt like something essential you would be missing out of.

Nah, he's taller than Prowl's height, but shorter than Ironhide, which is just about right for the 1986 Autobot Cars.

The arms should have followed the animation model and been the whole length of the sides of the car - the forearms could have been hollow and collapsed backwards similar to Ultra Magnus, whilst the bicep could have slotted backwards into the shoulder section.

Yup, tiny, disproportinate, and ugly tires, not allowing for any ground clearance

He was often drawn, in car mode, from impossibly low angles where the wheels would look a lot bigger:

You're right, he's much smaller. All of the Autobot Cars (including Bee) are listed as 21cm (8.26 inches) because Takara Tomy publicizes the size of the box, not the figure. I don't know what the official heights are, but measuring my own figures in the Decepticon group shot I know Soundwave is about 9 inches and Exhaust is about 6.75 inches so Hot Rod is probably more like 7.5 inches. I'm measuring Prowl closer to 6 inches and he's definitely shorter than Hot Rod.

Yup, that scale doesnt work at all. Also, in that pic and with that scale, they are clearly emulating Rodimus Prime and not Hotrod which is not the point to this toy.

Based on that group pic, it looks like the ACToys pics have Hot Rod's arms mistransformed since his wheels face backward in the group pic but face forward in the ACToys pics.

Anyone notice how the clavicals dont connect to his chest? Its like he is tearing at the seams with his innerds visible at both sides of his upper chest.

That's it i am getting this and selling the Hasbro one i have.

The only thing i am missing is a Targetmaster and the ability to fit Daniel and Spike inside Hot Rod in carmode. They should've gone with that instead of the stupid fishing rod.
